In fairness the premise is the price(opening line of the video)... Pistas are changing hands north of 375k...big leap from 225k...thats a brand new r8 in the difference >>Edit : stating the obvious~ hadn't seen video captions yet

@@MclarenMP412C- The Lambo's chassis is about as far from archaic as you can get. It's a blend of aluminium and carbon and probably more difficult to produce than the all carbon tub on the LT. Not that any of it matters since you wouldn't feel the difference between a carbon tub vs the aluminium/aluminium-carbon chassis in these cars anyway. The carbon tub is obviously better when you chop the top off though.

@@jponz85 i think 720s is needed to beat perfomante in any circumstances mclaren cars are able to beat any car in the same class within a quartermile.... But performante is different class it competes with 720 s and gt2RS much more faster cars than 600 lt

Performante will at least win until 1/2 mile and at best until 1 km in stand And in roll it depends on the length of the runway and the starting speed

How can this: www.netcarshow.com/Ferrari-488_GTB-2016-1600-24.jpg ...look better than this: www.netcarshow.com/Lamborghini-Huracan_Performante-2018-1600-2d.jpg In the 488 GTB, the center console, the A/C air exits and all that area surrounding it looks hideous, totally horrible IMO... It's like the car has some kind of tumor... In the Lambos for instance that central area looks way more refined, composed, gorgeous, symetric, and just simply way more well designed. Just look at the Start/Stop button for example...It looks awesome, and makes one feel special... It feels like you're about to launch a nuke or some kind of missile lol Even the steering wheel and the main display's design look way much better in the Lambos than in the Ferraris. The steering whell in the 488GTB for example, although it feels good the hands and it's of extreme high quality, it looks like it's made of cheap plastics aesthetically speaking. Not the case with the Lambos. This specific 488 GTB in the video might seem more beautiful to you and others, but that is mainly because of the white leather it has I guess... which is not a typical color people are used to see inside a car, even a supercar. I bet that was the customer's own spec request. But hey this is just my opinion, my aesthetic taste.

@@888mf4 I have both McLaren and Lamborghini and it is true there is nothing that can beat a naturally-aspirated sound it is fast enough who cares if it's not the fastest it looks great with unbelievable sad there is nothing more fun than driving through a long tunnel and hearing the up shifts in downshifts of that V10 screaming

The whole promo for that car was based around a ring record but they never released the time... They couldn't beat the 918 around Anglesea so the brought it back with a factory team... They couldn't beat the 918 around laguna seca despite the super sticky trafeao r's and a factory team... Mclarens mythology is all based around Internet fanboys obsessed with tuned cars doing silly drag times

Stevie Lowe agreed, it’s the fastest in a straight line and is the most fun to drive. It’s really easy to toss around and still remain controllable

888MF the pista is on par with the SVj and gt2rs you want a comparable Ferrari closer in price, performance and characteristics the Speciale is the correct Ferrari to compare over a 488gtb or pista

I sold mine a couple of weeks back. I did love it, but had some fun for three months and thinking about the replacement now.

Allen Saunders - for the price delta over a 600LT, may as well get the 720S. Hypercar performance.

@@Wishwader true but the 600LT probably has even better track performance. Seems to be a more invoving drivers car ,and is a limited production car . Most likely will appreciate in value

Indeed, Ferrari's dictating attitude towards its customers and the press is off-putting, especially when compared to McLaren's much friendlier approach. Would like to see this group test with the 720S though. The Lambo does sound the best, but at the expense of poor mpg.

@@TheKingc20 The 720 S would be just like the GTB..not the top version of the model. I can't wait for the 720's LT version. 775 or 800LT. It will be better, well cooler then the senna.

New car buyers expect reliability. Wait for the ripple effect if their reliability doesn't improve and maintenance costs continue to escalate. Still very good machines when they work!

I don't think there is such thing as a reliable supercar, plus, you got to remember that McLaren is a baby compared to Ferrari and Porsche, on top of that, Ferrari isn't that much better, Porsche also had a fire recall recently so there isn't much to compare.

Alan Gv a French Magazine have tasted both on Track, the Pista was quicker by 5 seconds or so and won their Car of The Year. So there’s your answer

It's brand new, only a few customer deliveries have been made. Be patient

The 675LT really impressed over the 650S with its added precision and feel that came from its steering, chassis, pedals and paddleshifts. The 600LT aims to do the same over the 570S as the engine mounts are stiffer, the steering is 3% quicker, responses from the throttle and brakes are sharper too.

@@888mf4 That all may be, but the LT and performante are track cars and thus not fair comparisons and every advantage they have they also have numerous disadvantages on the street that a street car like the 570S would not have, but the other problem with what you said is you leave the impression to people on this thread that the steering is not that good. Go back and replay it and you'll see it's misleading. The reality is the 570S steering is hydraulic and is freaking fantastic way, way beyond anything 99.9 % of the people on this thread have ever driven.

@@888mf4 you're right I have not driven a 600LT. Can't wait, but I truly was amazed by the 570S. I am middle-aged now, but it sure felt like every dream I ever had and I've owned a lot of very expensive sports cars. Let me ask you a question, since you get to drive these super on the edge cars all the time are you becoming to complacent? All I am really saying is the people on these U-Tube auto threads, for the vast majority of them, they will never get to own or even drive these kind of cars. They represent dreams that go back to their boyhood days. It must be hard to give valid comparisons and critical analysis while at the same time maintaining "respect" shall we say, for the automotive wonders ALL these cars truly are. Anyway, I appreciate your work and especially your thoughts and personal feedback.

The 488 Pista is a track focused car. The 720S will soon have a track focused version too!
