In this episode, I will be showing you how to tie a new rig I recently discovered, which is highly effective for groupers, rockfish, and other reef fishes. It combines the freshwater bass setup Dropshot rig with a saltwater bottom fishing Tenya rig. I was inspired to combine these two powerhouse rigs into one and call it the "Drop Shot Tenya Rig".
The benefit of this rig is that the Tenya provides a scent of a dying prawn, while the Z-man rubber you attach to your worm hook acts as the lure that entices the grouper to strike. The rig is highly irresistible to many groupers in Singapore, such as the Orange Spotted Grouper. It has already been tested and proven in this video:

The drawback is that this setup might be a grouper killer, but using it in rocky or coral-rich terrain can lead to it getting stuck. Although the worm hook is weedless, the Tenya has a large exposed hook that can snag on corals or rocks.
