The fan base of my dreams is the one that loves listening to my music releases, and is happy to leave me alone to create it and publish it, without me needing to keep feeding them with "regular social media content" or them needing me to "DM" them! Question: how much time do you think we should set aside each day for this (creating+engaging on ig)? To the community: how much time do you guys spend on social and how do you not let it get in the way of the actual music (songwriting, recording,videos and pics, rehearsing, gigs, learning and honing you craft and so on) and life (dayjob for some of us, family, duties and so on). I'm very happy to engage with my audience, but then i find myself spending so much time and feeling guilty cause I'm not writing enough music, which I think is the main goal.. Definitely looking for a balance

Please you're enjoying the channel! I would recommend starting a new IG as your friends aren't going to be real fans. You need to be able to post content without worrying what your friends think (if that's an issue for you). It depends if you feel it's going to limit you having such close friends and family following.
That’s a good point! Just seems it would be a bit of a head start as I already have followers who could share and like... and I hope my friends like my music!!! 😜
@@CREWorxMedia Based on your response you need to take her answer more serious. Trust me, all of your friends and family are going to share your music regardless if it's a new insta. You have to grow an actual fanbase. I would say it's not really a head start other than getting "Likes and views" which absolutely equates to nothing in the beginning. Also, think of it as a "rebirth" and allow yourself to embody the personality that your music emotes. An actual career and living in music can be super difficult but definitely worth it! The journey should be fun! Many blessings!

I like the DM your followers tip, but I've noticed that when I use music related hashtags I am followed by other musicians who, if I don't follow them back unfollow me a day later. Is it still worth DMing people who clearly are not really interested in my posts? I follow back only if I'm genuinely interested, maybe that's my bad?

what tips would you have for a band that doesnt have an insta yet because of a lack of content, as well as building a fan base from the ground up 0 followers
I find not matter what content I post in my stories, be it documenting, education, conversation starters or behind scenes, I always find my follow count drops within minutes If I have posted a story guarantee whatever growth I had the day before, those numbers drop straight after, but if I post in my feed I always gain. This frustrates me and often puts me off making stories even though I know I need to do it and I do anyways but ay advice as to why this is happening and how to stop this result happening every time?

I’m usually annoyed when people talk about everything BUT what it says on the title and you didn’t do that. Also, these were some great tips....anyways I have a question. What if I do not make my own music and I simply do covers? Is that alright? I don’t really have the tools to make my own music but I love singing and I love doing covers. Would that enable growth? I’m thinking of opening a new singing page on instagram and I’m so new to it all.
