If I was looking for a power station for emergency purposes I wouldn't hesitate to buy this unit. It has solid stats.
@paperback10

I bought the BLUETTI AC180 when it was on sale. My major disappointment is that its AC inverter eats up 22 Watts per hour. So using it to power a relatively low wattage items such as small tv , WiFi and cable boxes results in about 50% less running time than a user might expect. The same would apply to a small energy efficient refrigerator, using say 700 watts per day! You're only going to get about 20 hours not the 1 1/2 days I believe you mentioned.

I haven't watched a whole lot of your videos recently, so I'm not sure if you've mentioned anything about the Dabbsson DBS2300 unit. There are some other youtube channels that have covered it already, but I'd like to see your review of it, since you have a very thorough process. But as of right now, while I'm typing this, it's on sale on Amazon for $1019, for a "semi solid state LFP," with a 2200w AC inverter, and 2330wh capacity, with the ability of battery expansion. Sounds kinda like a "too good to be true" kind of deal? I'd like to hear your take on that unit, for that price.

Generally good specs and price, but a real shame about the max solar voltage of 60V. It would be hard hitting the 1000W much like with Anker. And why did they do that when the 1300 has a 100V limit? It’s not like they’re new to this stuff!
@molivil
@molivil 4 месяца назад
I am genuinely surprised he didn't talk about this more. 60V limit on solar is a major limitation and for many, a deal breaker.
@normanq8241
@normanq8241 4 месяца назад
Do you know of any firm combination of solar panels (by brand/model) that can total 1kW input without exceeding the 60v cap? I'm one of those suckers who didn't know any better when I bought the Anker 767.
@TumnusMr
@TumnusMr 4 месяца назад
@@normanq8241 besides the really expensive Anker branded 200w panels that run at 50V and 4A (meaning you need 5 in parallel to hit 20A for 1000w) there’s not much. I think that may be why they do that. It’s been a while, but last time I looked there were no generic panels that have an operating voltage of 50V and current of 4A and the best I ever found was some 28V 200w panels that you would have to get 6 of and put in a 2S3P configuration. That means you’re over-panelling slightly although as long as it is on the current side, that can be useful.
@InTheDirtAgain
@InTheDirtAgain 4 месяца назад
@@TumnusMr I bought some used residential 230w panels (36v) from a guy that bulk buys for home projects. Each put out about 6.5a in full sun. Got them for $75 each, so pretty happy with that. They are huge and take up massive real estate on my RV roof. Could only install 2 of them due to the placement of skylights, vents, etc. A 3rd panel with my home built "solar generator" would have been perfect.
@TumnusMr
@TumnusMr 4 месяца назад
@@InTheDirtAgain nice price! But in the context of this Growatt and the Anker units, with a max of 1000w and 60V, you can’t put two 36V panels in series. Three in parallel at 6.5A would basically max out the 20A current limit too and would only give 690w. So it’s really hard to get close to that 1000w and get the most out of it.
@teuton6167
@teuton6167 4 месяца назад
Great review, thanks Professor. Looks like a great unit with a lot to offer. My only concern is the 60V limit on the single solar input. I guess the only way to achieve 1,000 watts with that limitation would be to run two groups of panels using both series and parallel. It would be a lot better if Growatt had two 60V solar inputs like the Delta Max 2 or a higher input voltage limit like the Delta Pro.
@normanq8241
@normanq8241 4 месяца назад
Professor, in your extensive experience, do you know of any set of panels that can total 1kW of solar input within the 60v/20A cap? There is virtually no discussion anywhere about these manufacturers dangling the prospect of 1000 watt solar charging despite the lack of actual panels that can meet the criteria. It's verging on false advertising IMO.

Odd, I thought LiFePo4 was safe/ proper to charge all the way, 0 to 100%. Why their advice to limit to 90%? Solid deal, does what it says. Thank you for putting it to the test. Weakest point I see is solar input charge capacity. Would hope to be able to get closer to the output capacity for daytime flow through usage. If I hear it correctly, can only max solar input at 1,000w/ less than half of peak output. Otherwise, a lot to like.

I can appreciate the costs going down for these types of units, but they are still incredibly expensive for what you are getting. I love seeing the homemade versions of these boxes being built for less and as a DIY'er, I can build it using whatever components I want. Mine has a 2000w pure sine inverter, waterproof 30a RV plug and 110v plugs, has a wireless remote control, and a 200ah battery with a 200a BMS. With 460w of solar on my roof (36v residential panels) and a 30a charge controller (with bluetooth app and low temp cutoff), I can add or change up whatever I want as my system needs change over time.

I bought an evergear from Princess auto in looking for specs I came across on sale on the internet by the pallet and was shocked that the markup was so much for a unit selling for close to 2000 if bought by the pallet they were under 600 dollars Canadian now adding shipping costs it still a tremendous markup since I don't have the ability or the equipment to test it and since none of the big five reviewers have done a review on it I don't know wether it'll do what it says it'll do but so far I've found it does have ups and 2 solar inputs but right now I'm setting up to go solar and cutting the grid as here in Alberta Canada it's now costing close to 300 dollars for grid tie fees before the ridiculous price for power and its only getting higher when I first started buying power it was 30 $ straight no extra fees then they added billing fees then distribution fees then transmission fees and then they keep raising them even running a generator for 2 hours per day will be cheaper than the fees for being grid tied although I'd love to buy a unit like this the lower Canadian dollar adds a lot to the price and the sky-high shipping Charges make all the unit's unaffordable

@@Couchlover47 Lithium Solar did that a year ago. Even more savings to be had going the Ali Express route. I picked up a 5kw hybrid inverter for $511, 6kWh 48v lifepo4 for $690. Wayyyyy more capable than this setup, but no 5 year warranty. If I wanted to piece together something to match this growatt all in one, I could pick up a powMR 60a charge controller(48v battery 160v input, 2800w solar input!) for ~$80, 2kWh 48v battery for $250, and a 2kw pure sine for $120. Figure another $60 for bits and bobs like disconnects fuses and wire etc... You're at ~$500 to do what this does. Add in a MOES automatic transfer switch (works like a reverse UPS... switches to the grid when battery is low) and you can use the thing all the time and keep the battery healthy. That can really save you money each month and be more than an emergency gizmo in the closet. Well sized for running a one ton mini split. I mean, the growatt and similar "generators" have advantages, it's far more portable... wife approval factor is much higher... but man $800 is a hell of a premium for neat packaging and integration.
@InTheDirtAgain
@InTheDirtAgain 4 месяца назад
Don't get me wrong, they definitely have their place and are more compact or esthetically appealing that's what I built. I have a Bluetti EB70S for running my pellet stove during our Montana winters, so I understand their capabilities. But I don't need the wireless charging or all the ports on my box because I built it specifically for my RV that already has all that crap. I own several RVs and can strap my waterproof box to the tongue or use it at the house whenever, just like these portable units, but at a fraction of the cost. I'd rather add another 200 or 300ah battery to my build for a much more reasonable $4-500 than their tiny external batteries for an additional $1200 or more

Hi Professor. Very much appreciated this video as I'm looking at one of these for a truck topper style build with 2 x 265W Solar. I have a question regarding the Solar/Vehicle input test you did. In the video, you speak to the amperage being low (around 8amp, until >30V is provided, then amperage begins to rise), and that the only way to increase the input to close to 1000W is by providing 60V. You reference an 8amp "cap" in some of the other tests on this unit also. I noticed in the video at 15:37, when you're showing the app features, under the AC Charge Mode option, there is a Vehicle Charge settings tab. It states 8A. I'm curious, is this something that can be adjusted? (increased possibly?). Many thanks

A Victron MPPT Smart 100/20 charge controller, connected to the solar input and set to 55V output, could be used to connect a lot of generic solar panels to this. I wish these things were of modular construction and parts readily available. Also, they should use group 31 LifePO4 battery. With a car, you can buy a part to fix it without having to ship the car for repair. If you could pop out the charger or inverter module and exchange/ replace it repairs would be simple and DIY. Paying for hazardous material shipping to have the entire unit sent for warranty or repair seems like it makes these throw away appliances.

"Best Value 2200Watt..."? Really? While this is a great offering from Growatt (already own the Infinity 1300), I think the Pecron E1500LFP on sale now for just $699 blows it out of the water in value. The Pecron may not charge as fast (max 1400W AC/ 800W DC), and it's only 1536Wh capacity, but at $699 that's an astonishingly low $.46/Wh!! And, unlike Growatt, Pecron did get the 'memo' on 90 degree battery expansion cables. It also has that coveted 30A Anderson output like this Growatt. The only real difference is the 30A RV connector on the Growatt which the Pecron lacks. I can buy 2x Pecrons for the same price practically as a single Growatt 2000. So how is this the best value? I don't think the free 100W PV panel makes up the difference. Thoughts?

Doesn’t that Pecron need an external power brick?

100w panel isn't much of a free gift these days. I'd like to see one of these better companies offer a kit that we can assemble ourselves using their boxes and parts, but with the exact plugs and rated batteries/inverters we want. Have no need for wireless charging, a 30a DC connection, and a handful of USB plugs. Let us choose!

@@messenger325 been on youtube for a long time and under several names. I have already built my own by learning all I can and sourcing quality parts at low prices. Plenty out there to choose from, but nothing I think are worth the price (which is why I want a kit from one of the big companies). I know it won't happen.....
