The part on hand pollination is very useful. I've heard somewhere that cherimoyas won't fruit without hand-pollination.

What a great way to grow fruit trees. I didn't even know that they would mature and fruit in a small pot.

I grow about 17 atemoya and cherimoya. I prefer atemoya because it's chewy and complex taste (sweet and tart). Cherimoya help extend the season.

Did ,these plants bear fruit in tropical regions?
@Curacha0619
@Curacha0619 Месяц назад
Yes, both cherimoya and atemoya are tropical fruit trees. In fact, in California, it's very difficult to get them to fruit without hand pollinating the flowers. The insects that normally pollinate them in tropical places are not found in California.

My only question is how often do you water your fruit trees and what do you fertilize them with to grow so fast.
@Curacha0619
@Curacha0619 Месяц назад
It;s connected to drip system that comes on 3 times a week. I use water-soluble Miracle Grow.

@@Curacha0619 some One else I watch on RU-vid does the same thing 3-5 times a day for about 1-2 min watering and heavy mulch , folier spray and fish emulsion. I guess I really need to start doing such

@@amelitoenriquez5100 I also started doing it. In the short time I have been doing it I’m noticing a lot of improvement with my plants especially with the mulch and fish fertilizer and folier spray every other week. We get a lot of rain this time of year so I don’t water as much now . But I can say it’s definitely helping my plants making those changes.

this was such a sweet and useful video! did you know what atemoya you used? there are many types, this is a huge deal in vietnamese community I love your taste tester!! ❤ 😂 your interaction!! 😂😂😂 ❤ I'm very happy to know that the fruit was good enough that your tester didn't spit it out, I am thinking of buying atemoya seeds, Lisa variety to try growing from seed. Right now, I'm documenting my experience with sugar apples and guava using youtube too, and I can't wait to get to your stage where I can taste test it. ❤ 🥹🥹❤

I'm glad you like the video. I am not sure what specific variety of atemoya this is. I got the original 5-gallon pot in a small local nursery here in Southern California. When I got the plant home, I realized that the plant has only been recently grafted but it flowered and bore fruit in its first season. I got the seeds from that first fruit. The plant in the video is still in a 5-gallon pot and has a ton of flowers (and I have been hand-pollinating many of them). I was going to plant it in the ground this summer but I don't want to disturb the flowers and the young fruit. I have since grown many more atemoya plants. I have been giving them away and also have several plants in one- and five-gallon pots. I am also growing guavas now from seeds. I will check out your youtube videos. :)

@@Curacha0619 thanks! and good to know the little guy is doing well. I hope both of our guavas were not cross-pollinated or we managed to hit the jackpot and grow a really cool variety! ❤️
