Thanks for the helpful video, Jeff. Can you please make a video about other protecting other young tropicals such as guava, mango, cherimoya, etc? Thanks
I am planning on planting over 100 avocado trees in the north of Sardinia, where the winter gets under 10 degree Celsius in winter and close to 40 in summer. I don’t the umbrellas will stand up to the Sardinia mistrel winds. A different version that does the same job maybe. Cable system with sliding cloth.
Thank you. I planted a new avocado last spring, and it has been flourishing. I'm terrified of the winter. I'm going to try the umbrella. I'll let you know how it goes. What are your thoughts on stringing some Christmas tree lights up on the trunk? Could that be additional help?
I do live pretty close to Georgia but still living in Florida frosts are not really expected. Especially if you get the ones they grow in the Mexican highlands. Summer or fall hurricanes are much more likely.
Its gets super windy here, not sure an umbrella would stay in place for long. I was thinking I should wrap mine up, but have no idea how to go about doing that
I see 40c regularly in my garden. But it’s dry and cools off to 20c most nights. Not sure about commercial varieties but all of the varieties I grow do fine here in summer.
