- Nebraska is the #1 producer of great northern beans in the nation. Approximately 85% of all U.S. production occurs within 75 miles of Scottsbluff, Nebraska.
- According to a 2018 University of Nebraska Economic Impact study, the Nebraska dry bean industry had a $158.4 M State economic impact and created over 665 statewide jobs.
- Historically, Nebraska is the third largest producer of all dry edible beans in the U.S. In 2022, Nebraska producers averaged 2,300 pounds per acre on 108,100 acres for a total production of 2.486 million hundredweight bags - or more than a billion servings!
