i like this video showing squash in different stages of growth. i have 14 containers with only one winter squash in each. i think i will be trying 2 or 3 plants in the very large containers as you have done.

Thank you for all the information you provided in this video. I started a compost pile last year, and, lo, and behold, a sapling appeared in the spring. I transferred it to my garden area (no dig method on this plant). I had no idea what it was. Lol. I thought it might be a cucumber plant. Finally, a butternut squash started growing. I'm so excited. I love butternut squash. I wasn't sure when to harvest it, but thanks to your video, now I do.

Very useful video I planted butter nut squash for the first time this year just to try it out and it’s growing beautifully I have 4 squash in them and they seem to be growing very fast all I did was water them can’t wait to harvest mine thanks for the tips

They CAN climb! They are so strong and they LOVE to climb, and the fruit will dangle from above on the vines.

Thank you for this. I think I have this growing in a huge pot but not 100% sure. I put a hand full of butternut squash seeds in and nothing happen for a few weeks then all of a sudden I have these thick shoots growing it looks like what I've just seen. Fingers crossed

great video and very nice pace in explaining. I currently have 3 butternut squash plants in a 20 gallon container which seem healthy (sown on May 2nd). My question to you is if you fertilized? 10 pumpkins is a very promising yield, but is that possible without consistent organic fertilizer and/or watering with compost/fish emulsion in a pot? Did your plants feed off of your original planting compost for 5 months? Thank you

I had planted few seeds from one butternut squash. I have 5 plants from them in which 4 flowers have bloomed so far and there are so many yet to bloom. All the bloomed flowers till now have been male flowers, does it mean rest of the flowers are going to be male as well? Can there be female and male flowers in the same vine? This is so far the best video I have found on how to grow butternut squash from seeds. Love it. Thanks a lot for all the efforts you have put in making this video.

thank you for your video. I grew a butternut squash plant and the plant has been growing and branching out well but l don't see any male buds that are reaching the blooming stage. the female flowers are growing and blooming well. it's been almost 60 days and no male flowers.

Can you grow any variety of butternut squash on the ground? I don't have anywhere to setup a trellis so ground is all I have and I really want butternut or kobacha to be grown from a container and on the ground

I hand pollinate with a small wet artist's paintbrush. By the way, the petals are edible.

If I may ask how many squash do you manage to get from one creeper on an average?? Mine are in a pot too which may explain the small size of the squash that I am growing while I manage to get only one healthy squash from one plant. Is that normal??

Thanks so much for sharing. I'm in Kingston, Jamaica and sowed butternut squash seeds from Burpee Gardens (eventually thinned to 3 plants) for the 1st time on January 3rd. I followed your hand pollination method and was successful. The 1st squash is growing nicely but now the vine is shriveling and seems to be dying although the fruit still looks healthy. 1 other plant now has a pollinated squash and the other is still only showing male flowers...the vines and leaves look OK but not as lush as yours did....not having any issues with powdery mildew. Please tell me what can I do about the dying vine? They're all getting full sun and are being watered almost daily if there's no rain. Help!!
