Thanks for the video. This is my favorite eggplant variety. I have been growing this from 2015. My plant survived for 4 yrs & kept producing. We live in Socal(South Bay) where our temperature is moderate. I collected seeds from my plant & just sowed it recently.
That's so cool! 🎉🎉 This is one reason I get so confused with gardening living in Florida. I never know when it's a good time to plant seeds since our weather is so weird 😬. I still have tomatoes growing outside that I started in October and they are beautiful about to harvest 🤔 Most garden sites say it's time to start indoors to plant outdoor in March. It's still in the 70 and 80 degree temps here in January. Lol It's been trial and error for me with gardening lol
Thank you for the video. It was great to see how long you got a harvest from it. How did the plant do with all the rains and cold weather we had in So Cal?
I brought a starter egg plant from my a nursery. I didn't know what type of plant it was but after watching your video I now know it's this type. I have small egg plants the size of the ones you were cutting so now I think I need to go cut mine. They are also growing in clusters. I thought maybe there was something wrong with the plant because they are growing so close together. Thanks for the video.
I live in the netherlands and we just start everything indoors and then either use a greenhouse or put our plants out once its the end of may. Btw i use a balcony greenhouse.
I like to know how tou do the trellis for the creeping plants. I am in a flat with a small balcony & I am growing a lot of vegetables. I find it difficult to arrane the trellis for them. Now my ridge guard is growing, I have used the temp. nylon threads with nylon mesh., but as the vegetable grow, it may not hold the weight, I think. Thanks
very cool, im gonna try this variety! my eggplants have always died to flea bites in my raised bed so im gonna try to get a container one that i can move to a concrete area hopefully without pests.
Nice video. I planted couple of eggplants starting this month but here in northern CA this year has been quite cold for this time of the year. So my plants aren't growing. Any recommendations? Last night we had 46 deg F temps so I put some sheets to provide some warmth.
I do have a recipes playlist here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8YgkW3hzZVc.html and for eggplants I usually stuff them with salt, chilli powder and turmeric powder and shallow fry them. Hope that helps!
Hey, i actually did seed starting yesterday.. is that correct process ?? .. its still in high 50s and 60s here.... i see you directly doing it outdoors
Oh, perfect timing on this video! I am also going to grow this exact eggplant from Renee's Garden seeds, but I've never before grown eggplant. Thanks to your awesome video, I am going to do the same thing you did and grow them in my whiskey barrel because you showed how easy it is. Thanks so much for your informative videos. Even though I live in a different zone, your videos always teach me great information. 😄
I think you don’t need to prune your plant , because the leaves will grow and produce more flowers 😊 , i just prune my plant when they have diseases so they can start grow again
You need to think growing eggplant , is like growing tomatoes. the same principles applies.. had a bumper crop of tomatoes this year. however its my first time growing eggplants and felt i failed..in fact its quite the opposite .. i still have the season on my side to rectify my crop. thanks for sharing the info
I had an eggplant which gave flowers but after some time they all died. The heat in dubai is very hot 57 degrees. The plant is dying what should I do. In what type of climate should it be sowed. I tried my level best as I like to grow any stuff. When should I plant the seeds.

Start them now or buy transplants when you are ready to plant. I plant mine in mid April here, zone 8 but u may be able to plant out sooner in your area.
@@vahlla78 thank you so much for your help. Our summers can get up to 115 degrees. By 10 a.m. everything needs shade! I think in the future I will focus on planting in September for a fall Harvest. I like eggplant a lot I sure hope they grow well here. I have never done a garden before so looking for all the help I can get! We did get fruit trees planted and they have blossoms! Our fruit/food Orchard is going to be beautiful!
