Some people in Seattle’s Northgate area are concerned about a growing encampment at Hubbard Homestead Park.
Jaynie Black is a property manager in the area who has also been an advocate from the homeless, serving meals to people for years. KING 5 did a story on her efforts to care for the homeless back in 2017.
“Up until about a year ago I was feeding 200 to 300 every week out of the back of my car, which was a hot meal,” said Jaynie Black.

I used to live in one of the complexs by the park and when it got hot they would be camping in the bushes until the park cut everything down. It's crazy how much worse it's gotten down in Northgate. The park was really nice lots of families and they would even have little community events but I doubt they're doing that now. We gotta clean this city up ASAP! We gotta reclaim our city.

once someone's mind is defunct like a lot of these homeless, it's nearly impossible to repair to a condition that can be (re)integrated back into society

The combination of accepting a minimal drug usage is dead wrong. Observe what beautiful Seattle is tuning into. Once a person is addicted to drugs, for the most part, he or she has altered their brain fucnictions which make a person incapable of learning or performing work, the odd thing, somehow they can produce funds to ourchas bicycles and tents. By the time the city or State of Washington addresses the homeless/drug problem a New City Will will be created, with a mayor to govern the homeless and addicted. The only people who benifit from seattle’shomeless drug addicted, are the people involved in social services that are unable to resolve the problems of homeliness and drug addiction including the mentally ill with more drugs for rehab that seldom work, hence, as the homeless condition grows in the Seattle/Bellingham corridor, so does jobs for the social services grow; paid for by the tax payer. Remedy: The state of Washington needs to get off their butts, and erect a huge shelter outside of the city with proper facilities for the homeless and arrest the drug sellers regardless of the amounts of drugs found on them; it is time to quit coddling the drug sellers.

The root of the problem? Drug addiction and WA state, the county's and the city's ideological unwillingness to address drug addiction with a rational approach.

So sad that Seattle can't get it together. How about getting different people into office. I moved from Seattle in 2015 and I see it now and I'm shocked.

Forced Intervention is the only solution. Camping and living on public or private property should have a city ordinance that gives enforcement teeth. If the individuals don't vacate the area in 24 hours, they should be offered housing alternatives if qualified or if criminal charges apply be detained. Held in a detention center for a 72 hour evaluation. Once evaluated, mandatory 2 years in jail for any outstanding warrants or judgements. Provided Court mandated drug treatment in a detention center for low level offenders and users. Or State Mental facilities where they can be evaluated and treated or, at worst, committed. While being detained offer online accredited education and job training in construction and skilled trades which pay living wages. Once released, provide temporary housing while job placement. You can even go through the process a second time for another 2 years. However, screw up and 3 strikes rules are enforced. Mandatory 10 years in a penal colony on a remote island in the Alaskan Aleutian Islands building infrastructure and shelters for colonists. They can grow and process seafood and harvest natural resources for consumption and the free market to help pay for it all. Bundle up, though. It's pretty cold out there.

There is lots and lots of land here in America, there is no reason we can't give them a few acres here and there.. and they can make their own tent cities.... AWAY FROM HOMES AND BUSINESSES
