Great Video!! This is the first year I've added black radish to my garden and now I see what I needed to know. I put them in late August and they are coming along nicely. Can't wait til they are ready. Thanks For the video!!! 🕶

Isn’t August a bet late ? Did they turn up ok!? I want to try them this year! Any tips?

It was. I'm going to start them 4 weeks earlier this year. I spaced them about 8 inches apart and they grew as big as softballs.@@emasfunmumworld490

@@emasfunmumworld490 That depends on where You live and what gardening zone You grow in. These plants can withstand very cold temperatures and can stay in the ground in such conditions without a problem. I transplanted these in the end of August and they grown pretty good 🌱💪

Question- how do you eat them?
@Liap
@Liap Год назад
@@sarahkirbach5040 Very nice variety indeed! Me personally, I eat those with bread and butter and salt, just like that. Though I gave plenty of these to my friends and colleagues (I grew them also in open garden) and they are more creative with food than me - raw in salads and roasted with olive oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, salt and pepper. Thank You very much! ☺

Oh that crisp sound is the best part!
@Liap
@Liap Год назад
@@daisymv374 😃 kind of spicy though, I like the mild ones more. But they say these are one of the most beneficial to health. Thank You very much for Your support! ☺

OMG they are HUGE!!! 😲😲😲 Turnip/beet size!!! How do they taste?
@Liap
@Liap Год назад
Absolutely huge! These ones grew even bigger than ones I grew in open garden. The taste is spicy and pungent. More than other radish varieties. Though, when cooked, the sharp taste gets milder. Thank You very much for Your support! ☺

When you cook them does the texture become soft like a courgette gets soft when cooked ? I like my vegetables crunchy
@Liap

@@felicitywoodruffe4087 @felicitywoodruffe4087 They do get slightly softer, but nowhere near to the courgette. They will still be crunchy 🙂

I would pick thenleaf while wating fir the ball to grow 🤪😅

You could pick leaf here and there but any regular harvesting of leaves would have negative impact on the "ball's" growth. 😉
