Just plant directly in a big pot or into a raised bed and it will grow. It spreads across so it will need room to spread. More stems will grow out at the top as it spreads underneath the soil.
Guys before u comment try things in different way and see if ginger grows, everybody have their own experiences... So stop taunting and discouraging.. It's good video for beginners.... Nice video, would like to see harvesting...
I love ginger and always wanted to plant some. Since you did not talk in your video, it would be helpful if a list of items used, like the type of soil used, how to care for the ginger, when to harvest, etc
Lovely video, ignore any negative comments, also as the leaves of ginger are edible they make a lovely garnish, just like chives or basil. Not as strong as the root but delicious ( just leave some for the root to grow)
Thank you for posting this video. I like to watch tutorials of the same subject and fit it to my lifestyle. I appreciate the time you spend showing your techniques. Now to put the items together and give it my best. Bless you😊
It might look like is taking too much time to you , then you might as well go golfing , gardening is not for u bud. This guy is awesome in preparing this video.
This was a waste of time, because we've been growing ginger in Wisconsin for years now and it doesn't need all this extra work like in the video. We simply plant a piece of ginger in the spring into different spots in the garden every year and harvest it frequently until the end of autumn. And using a big pot with catch tray is as simple as removing the gingers skin with a spoon and puting it in the middle of the pot with any mineral rich soil you can buy at the store. And just water and give it sun light. You'll have tons of ginger and wouldn't know what to do with all of it.
What's the point of the pot made from a recycled bottle? Is there any significance to it being painted gold? Your ginger has already sprouted and you've just planted it in soil as far as I can see. A bit of info on the soil mix or how often it needs to be watered and where to grow it eg in direct sunlight or shade.
What's the point of the pot made from a recycled bottle? JUST TO SHOW OFF A CUTE IDEA. BUT OTOH, PLANTING IN A POT, SO THE SPROUTS CAN AVOID DIRECT SUN, DRYNESS, HEAVY RAIN, WIND.. FROM THE OUTSIDE IN A RAISED BED OR IN THE GROUND Is there any significance to it being painted gold? NO Your ginger has already sprouted and you've just planted it in soil as far as I can see. AT THE BEGINNING, THEY HADN'T SPROUTED YET. A bit of info on the soil mix or how often it needs to be watered and where to grow it eg in direct sunlight or shade. SOME YTERS, IN THIS CASE S/HE IS VIETNAMESE, DON'T SPEAK MUCH ENGLISH. THEY MAKE CLIPS BASED ON EXPERIENCES., THEY PROBABLY KNOW ABOUT WHAT YOU MENTIONED, BUT THEY DON'T HAVE ENOUGH KNOWLEDGE TO LIST THEM OUT. THESE SHORT CLIPS ARE EASIER TO MAKE, LESS TROUBLE, LESS HEADACHE. FOR THE WATERING PART, KEEP IT MOIST, NOT OVERWATER, NOT TOO MUCH SUNLIGHT OR IN SHADE THEN YOU'LL BE OK.
@@E-Kat It's more unnecessary than anything. Putting them on a flat tray with an inch or two of soil would be easier. After they sprout, you can just put them into a nice big pot. It's better than cramming them all into a makeshift pot and trying to dig them back out again. You could easily damage the rhizome when trying to take them out so forcefully and that would impact how much ginger you hope to harvest.
Hi Robin. For one thing, planting in a pot prevents bugs, grubs and slugs from getting at and eating or infecting the tubers. Secondly, You are using a cleaner soil.
I get the ginger from the supermarket , make sure it has the ‘buds’ on it . Then plant whole , buds upwards , into a pot with good fresh compost. And then just wait , it grows real good and the flowers attract bees etc . I grow it in my greenhouse, it’s dead easy and it’s attractive enough to have indoors until it grows to it’s full potential which can be very tall .(unless you have high ceilings which we luckily do ). I put it outside in the warmer months. I love growing anything unusual 😁😁😁 Apologies for the lecture!!
Don't be apologetic coz your information is worth. In my country Kenya, Africa, we don't need high ceilings we simply grow them in the gardens and there is no unfavorable weather
Very good. Love it. I drink a ginger ale drink daily for upset tummy. It's magical stuff. Like turmeric.❤💖💞💜🙏🙏💫💫🌏🌎🌍😇. Stay happy, healthy and blessed. 🙏🙏🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱🌼
