left my pickup truck 2 hours. bums ripped my filler pipe out of the truck and drained .t gas tank. you know the coast guard station is in the lagoon. but the coast guard is kind of useless unless you are sinking. they don't mind the rats, the bums s***ting in the lagoon, and all the garbage the homeless seem to cherish.

I was stationed at Swan Island in 1969, 1970 and '71. It was a Naval Base, with my Destroyer, the USS Braine DD630, and a reserve trainer submarine, that was docked next to us. It is hard for me to believe what a s$#t hole the govt of Oregon and Portland has done to this once beautiful place. It really is criminal.

Then you could clean it out and you own a chunk of access to the water. That's priceless if you really think about it people of Portland buy that ramp out from the city. never sell it back to them. And when the people own it they can do what they want they own it. They can kick everybody out even The city you need to buy that parking lot and ramp people.

I like how thare leaving out the shooting and overdoses I've lived 5 mins away from thare my hole life and have been kicked out by the people that lived there multiple times waving guns around and threatening to shoot my wave runners. Until the root of the problem is fixed the problem will continue. The root of the problem is that Rent is insanely high and no one can afford to rent a home when they have to work 3 jobs just to pay the rent because the wages are so low! Make minimum wage a Living wage, and cap rents at sane levels, and your homeless problems will lessen quickly. The city has plenty of property they can use to put the homeless on, get them services so they do not make a mess and get back into society. Finland has a very successful program and have almost zero homeless. We can do much better than we are.

Make it private, charge fees and bring in security.
