I absolutely love the 80s, people tell me I need to stop living in the past..but, I miss it so much. The memories and, times were simple 🤙 💕 🎶 🎶 🎤 😎 📼 📹
You mean starting with "The Jerry Seinfeld Show"? Ba...Donk...Da...Donk. Successful for many years, but not enough money in the budget for any music, thank you very much. I guess Drax was right. "There are 2 types of people in this world, those that dance, and those that don't." Keep on danc'in!
Man, it's sad when you discover something so wonderful, the person behind it passed on and we couldn't thank the person for coming up with a great song and somebody was able to turn it into a great 4 minute video!
Matt. McDermott. Alan Thicke. Died. Rest in. Please feel bad about you last. Sad. God bless you all very much hope you. Got. Well. Soon I love you all very much hope you be. My dad. Best. One
I imagine that for some of us who lived through the early 90's in a disfuntional family- Growing Pains became our escape, our adopted family, even as yours was falling apart. Never realized why I loved this show so much till now.
You know you hit it right on the hammer I grew up in a dysfunctional family and I so badly wanted to be a member of this family on growing pains I hated being in the family I was in for one positive thing about growing up I got to know my mother and realize she was a victim in the marriage she had with my father and by the time she died there was no bigger love between mother and son then us❤️
So true ! I remember watching Growing Pains, Full House and 7th Heaven in the 1990s when my parents were unhappily married and then going through a toxic divorce. The shows gave me so much comfort.
Glad 80's fashions are gone . But we need good wholesome shows like this these days . Our values and morals have gone down the tubes . RIP Alan . Say hi To Florence .
Boner referring to the idea of making a foolish action or committing a foolish act. The characters name didn't refer to anything indecent, although the idea is still funny. Can't make jokes like that in todays overly sensitive society. Remember saying and doing rude things to others is really.....gay. yes if that's the correct thing to say.
I got to say thank you very much for the full song and the dedication to include the perfect clips of all 8 seasons and even the 2 reunion movies of Growing Pains. That must've been painstaking to find the best ones of happy, emotional, and other feelings.
He was one of the best along with Carl Winslow, Phillip Banks, Danny Tanner, Alan Matthews, Dan Conner, James Evans, Cliff Huxible, Al Bundy, Red Foreman, Howard Cunningham, Mike Brady, Charles Ingles, and John Walton Sr. It's sad because most of the TV dads we grew up with are gone, we need our Fathers and our Mothers back on TV
@@meganbateman5634 Don't forget Steven Keaton, Eric Camden, Martin Crane, Julius Rock and the oft overlooked but one of the all time best Jonathan Henderson from Smart Guy.
I remember this series. Joanna Kerns was so pretty and she is one of the most gorgeous American actress of the 80's..She was a very pretty mother. I loved her blonde hair.I just loved Carol Or Tracey gold too.
Definitely up there with Barney Miller, Family Ties, Happy Days, Sanford and Son, Rockford Files, The Jeffersons, Good Times, Night Court, WKRP in Cincinnati, Welcome Back Kotter, Magnum, PI, The A Team, Green Acres etc.
It was my first American teleplay. I watch it even till now. When I move to NYC, I even want to go to Penn Station buy a LIRR ticket to Huntington, just want to have a look at their house. I remember there is one episode, Jason takes Ben for Hockey, he insists player should have the spirit of athletics. Don't hurt opposite. Then argues to coach and fight each other. They should also be the fans of Islanders in teleplay. This time he takes his son as usual, but he can not 'show me the smile again'. RIP
i feel your pain that is growing deep inside of you - re: in wanting more seasons of this totally kick ass television show in all time greatest tv show history... i had to get the sixth or seventh season on VHS of it all back in 2008 when it started to air reruns on a local channel! plus i was wanting to get the first two on dvd to help prove a point in what you are trying to get at too! aka - THE WORLD NEEDS GROWING PAINS! ;)
Growing Pains is the greatest family sitcom ever and perfect show ever! It's funny and serious the acting is great the pacing is good it addresses serious topics and teaches important life lessons that are still relevant today such as drugs, drunk driving, suicide, racism, bigotry, homelessness and everything all while still keeping it funny perfect! And it has a fourth wall break episode called Meet the Seavers that's very creative and very well done my favorite part in the episode is when the set guy carried Ben over his shoulder. It's the perfect show!
LOL They made so many versions of the theme. Not that I'm complaining. I love the theme. It's so uplifting and bringing you hope. Favorite sit com theme, easily.
there is something about that "Luke" character. he seems the type to be winning Oscars. hmm this was back then when the word "Boner" didn't offend anyone
I love this song. People really knew how to make TV shows back then, I always watch reruns of the shows before I was born and was a kid at the time. Give thanks to not only the Seavers but to the families we grew up with The Winslow family and Steve Urkel (Family Matters) The Banks Family and Will Smith (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) The Walton Family (The Waltons) The Brady Family and Alice (The Brady Bunch) The Tanner Family (Full House) The Huxible Family (The Cosby Show) The Matthews Family, friends, and Mr. Feeney (Boy Meets World) The Ingles Family (Little House on the Prairie) The Evans Family and friends (Good Times) The Foreman Family and friends (That 70s Show) The Cunningham Family, friends, and The Fonz (Happy Days) The Bundy family (Married with Children) The Taylor Family and Wilson (Home Improvement) The Connor Family (Roseanne) The Hart family (Reba) The Lopez Family (George Lopez) The Barone Family (Everybody Loves Raymond) The Bunker Family (All in the Family) The Sanford Family (Sanford and Son) The Gilmore Family (The Gilmores) The Parker/Nicholas Family (Drake and Josh) The Sheffield Family, Fran and friends (The Nanny) It's sad because we need those families back in our country right now
This version of this song was done by BJ Thomas with The Late Great Dusty Springfield.. this version of this theme song is hard to find online or anywhere maybe a greatest hits album somewhere.
AnnaMarie ,Miss wonderful intelligent lady, I just gotta hand it to you this is the best collection and scenes from the show or any show!I just had to share your most amazing video with *Kirk Cameron,*Tracey Gold,*Jeremy Miller,*Leo DiCaprio*, and yes 2 *Joanna Kerns* because i didn't know which one was truly honest to god her!But yes i enjoyed your video that much!I loved reliving the greatest moments in the Seaver's lives !They were the coolest, most heart warming, loving family on Television!Thank you for bringing me back to my childhood and your most awesome video,Alan Thicke or not one of the Seaver's will ever truly be gone or forgotten!they shall live on through this most powerful video tribute in which you have made AnneMarie! #RIPALANTHICKNEVERFORGOTTEN
Classic. They don't make classics like these anymore unfortunately. But it was this show that also introduced me to Leonardo DiCaprio. His career really took off for real after this show I believe. A lot of people tend to forget that he was on this show. Before the successful big blockbusters like Titanic etc. And RIP 🙏 Alan 💔
Thanks Allen and cast of Growing Pains for entertaining me back in the 80's 😀 when i listen to this song in transports me back in the days when I was growing up in my teens. Entertainment was so family oriented and so fun to watch. I love this show and many others like in from back in those days. When the show "married with children" came on it just ruined family sitcoms forever. This show "Growing Pains" is a perfect example of great clean family oriented shows. Today it is nothing but garbage thanks to the show "Married with children". 🙁👎
There's room for both. I love Growing Pain and Married witrh Children and grew up watching both shows. Growing Pains was a good show though The Bundys were more relatable to a lot of actual families while The Seavers and their like on tv were more what we wish our families were.
Growing Pains and Full House were my two favorite shows growing up my favorite character on Growing Pains was Mike and my favorite character on Full House was Uncle Jesse
Boy I remember growing up watching this show in elementary and middle school. Thank god Antenna Tv brought this and Family Ties back into my life. They just don't make family sitcoms like these anymore. The families on these current shows lack genuine chemistry and don't even look like they'd be related. (The Middle is the exception) Growing Pains, Home Improvement, The Cosby Show, Roseanne, Family Ties, The Middle, Family Matters, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Everybody Hates Chris, Malcolm in The Middle and Married with Children actually felt like they were actual families you'd forget they weren't in real life.
I have just started watching this show and i have fallen in love with this show since i love 80's sitcoms! Thanks for making such a great video!! :) Where did you get all the later season clips?? i am looking for season 4 episode and i am just wondering where you got them from??
I was watching HULU's Future Man... And this song came on that show and I didn't know where it came from, but I knew the words and sang along. I knew it was from a sitcom I watched as kid, but which one...??? I resang the song in my head and typed the words in google and bam. I laughed and remembered where it came from. I used to watch Growing Pains religiously...
love this show...Im 27 and I remember this show like yesterday, its a shame that Warner Bros. will not release any other DVD's, its a good thing I've taped all (some I missed out about 5 shows) when they had them on syndication re-runs. Still want the 2 released movies ones
I know what you mean. I called in to take the day off work to mourn. My supervisor said i was full of shit. I said, "Now that he's dead how are we going to watch his syndicated, run-of-the-mill, family-oriented sitcom from 30 years ago?" So here I am at work.
+Jennifer Middleton the person who said the favorite TV parents ((the Brady Bunch - Florence Henderson, who played Carol Brady in the 1970's, died on 11.24.2016 - - - & now, Growing Pains - Alan Thicke, who played Jason Seaver in the 1980's, died on 12.13.2016))... this person who said: TV's favorite parents weren't talking about Alan Thicke & Joanna Keens, they where talking about Jason Seaver & Carol Brady.
@@harrystoller4147 i haven’t seen Growing Pains since i was a kid and i forget some of the characters but i remember the Main Characters Maggie Jason Ben Carol Mike Chrissy and Luke
