@@soulgazer11 something to do with trains, I think. But now you’ve got me curious... Okay so I googled it. And apparently before we had “don’t toot your own horn” we had “don’t blow your own trumpet” its precursor. The trumpet phrase was referring back to medieval times where they had the tradition of using horns to announce the arrival of royalty or important guests. Now we both know haha

That goes way back! 😯 thanks for the info 🤗 Kinda fascinating how most idioms sound like random words put together like mashed-potatoes, but actually they all have a story behind them. In French (Canada) we say "se pèter les bretelles" which translates to "to snap your own suspenders". It's kinda weird, but I have seen people doing this on TV in various sitcoms (mostly from the 60's, 70's and 80's, where wearing suspenders was the norm) when they were proud of themselves or something, so I assume it comes from that.

I can only hope that either cousin Gary isn't really related and it's just an endearment or that he is a cousin on like maybe Teddy's mom's side and then she is Teddy's cousin on his dad's side because then at least Teddy's two cousins aren't related at all to each other, just to Teddy.
