Turned 69 this year and after fighting Cancer for 8 years and going on 2 years Cancer free....Yee-Ha!! I was so hoping before I got to old to call you up and make a stalk with you at my side but ain’t gonna happen. Just could not get back in the kinda shape needed for us both to enjoy my company. LOL Your professional enthusiasm and attitude toward your hunter is - well let me say....You are certainly entertaining from a LazyBoy rocker. Wish I had 5 more good years and I’d be smilin’ all the way from Alaska back to Texas. I don’t know when this video was posted but I absolutely loved it all. First item was your client was from PA and that’s where I lived for 43 years. Second, the adventure to hunt bear and Moose has always been a dream for me. The closest I ever got was a turkey hunt and pheasant shoot! Not in the same level as an Alaska wild game shoot. Billy gave so much to his client’s dream that he began to loose his own dream. Praise the Lord that Billy was able to see God in all of nature around him and know that his God was there for him as well as all who look for Him. I really loved what was shown in this video; the character of both client and guide and their love and respect for Gods creatures and the love these men expressed for their families.

Barry is like an old friend to this viewer. Great to see him again with Billy.

Billy you have some of the best, if not the best hunting videos out there. I love that fact your hunts are not covered up by music in the background. This way the observer gets to hear the lantern hissing or the coffee pot percolating, making one feel as if they are there hunting with you and your client. Been in the Outfitting and Guide business myself since 1982, I have to agree with you, you meet many great people and make lifetime friends in a hunting camp.

I think this has been your best so far Billy, your reflection on life at the end was inspiring, I'm 71 in a months time, I still hunt and fish in the mountains here in Australia so I can relate to Barry, if you let age become a barrier to your love of the wilderness then life has already passed you by.

I am soooo thankful for you videos Billings, being disabled by an accident at 26, I might not ever have you guide me an Alaska, but because your videos are rated G, I can watch them with my grandkids, I'm 63 now.

Billy, I may 50+ years as a Beaver and cub pilot and mechanic I have helped many people hunt and fish Alaska I get outside lot in the winter still and love this great land helicopter in the 1970 was what kept me alive. I would like to thank you and all the great people that you have guided over the years for this time on RU-vid videos it is so sweet to look back for me 72 years I have to mostly explore on you tube my legs ant what they use to be

The best video I have ever viewed on youtube because of your opening up and sharing your life and faith to help others. Absolutely loved this video....my brother has had severe arthritis most of his life...has suffered more than anyone human I know. As a result he is now one of the nicest people I know. He spends his entire life focused on helping lift the burden off of other fellow human beings and is on an experimental drug that has allowed him to once again have some form of a life. I saw the pain and trials turn him into so much greater of a human being than he ever would have been without the trials. All things work together for good to those that love GOD.

This is the dream. I hope one day before I get to old that I can move to Alaska out in a cabin in literally the middle of nowhere hunting big game and loving life. It’s either that or a tropical island with beautiful warm weather lol. They are pretty much complete opposites but I love both and one day I will hunt moose and bear in Alaska. I know I will.

I’m always inspired by Billy’s words, they just resonate in my soul and I connect to his thoughts. The hunts are fascinating and I love them. But Billy, you have a very unique gift being able to articulate the experience of the outdoors, the habitat, the harmony of all Gods creations intertwined simultaneously. The landscape, the wildlife, the weather. The human experience of being so blessed to experience it, yet also being so vulnerable to it. There is never a guarantee one is coming home, and that’s the beauty of it. In Gods most splendid creations and also at his mercy. Beautiful. Those moments when I just sit in the woods on a scout perhaps. The sun just coming up, watching the wildlife and the habitat together and sitting so still. The animals not knowing you are there. Seeing them behave unaware of your presence. Something very very special about that. The experience is so more enjoyable than the harvest. The harvest is a bonus. Cheers all and God Bless.

Even though I am a "girl" lol, I have really enjoyed watching all of your hunts. I've watched all the hunts you've done with Barry and I have to say, I agree with your young packer on this video, he is one bad ass old man ha ha ha. Anyyyways, I digress. I wanted to say thank you for continuing to produce such wonderful videos and keep your chin up kid. I learned a long time ago that a person CAN pull themselves out of depression without medication IF that person has a strong mind and a will to live. I survived a horrendous childhood filled with incest. It took me a long time to, as I put it, "Pick up my big girl panties and get my ass to movin'". For many years I felt like I wanted to die because of what happened to me, and at 51, I still struggle with "God". I will never say that he doesn't exist, but there may always be a part of me that wonders if he truly does exist. That being said, I do know that my mind is stronger than my depression. I slip and fall back into it sometimes, but, I have pulled myself back out EVERY TIME so far. So, Keep your chin up kid, you have little girls who need and love you.

Damn you made me cry at the end... thank you for the inspiration and being who you are to become who you are and facing your depression..

What a awesome video all the way around. I live here in Alaska and watching this video sure made me want to get out moose hunting already. I work all year so I can take a month off to moose and caribou hunt. The whole time isn’t hunting but enjoying time away from the rat race of life. Solitude away and alone sometimes is the best thing for a person. Thanks for sharing your hints with all of us who enjoy this kind of lifestyle.

Down here in New Zealand, a retired deer culler, totally engrossed in your hunt with that young Barry!! I can say that I’m 75….

I've seen this film and all of Billy's other films/videos on RU-vid at least 100+ times over the last 2yrs and i still find myself getting inspired and learning something new each time i watch it. Weather its a hunting tip or a life lesson there's always something to be learned from Billy through his God given talent to guide, to hunt, ability for understanding nature and his drive to learn from nature. Then Billy can find the words to describe every moment so well it makes the viewer feel as if they were there right next to Billy experiencing it with him.....Then there Mr. Barry Barton who is a true inspiration to so many.. He is a man that we all would be better off as a person and in life if we could just spend a day with Barry. The one packer says it best when talking bout Barry. "Thats one bad ass old man"....These two men are some of the few good ones left and we all need to look up to and learn from them while we can......God bless you Billy and Barry your both truly kind hearted, level headed good people with much to offer the world.....NEVER STOP BEING YOU......

From one hunter to another, that was a powerful moose hunt! I got the chance to hunt Alberta Canada moose and elk as a student at Prairie Bible Institute. Helped with two moose and know what it is like to carry meat off a mountain. God keep you safe!!

This is a great video. Because, it documents the up as well as the downs that make hunting an adventure. There is much more to hunting than the kill. It's the adventure, the harvest and sharing the story of the hunt.

ITS AMAZING HOW THEM PILOTS CAN TAKE OFF AT SUCH A SHORT DISTANCE AND PULL IT UP.

The hunt was fascinating and grueling to watch at times and l so admired both you and Berry as you went on your day to day quest. Congratulations to the two of you for the moose harvest and l can only imagine the work involved packing it back to camp. I’m a whitetail deer hunter and have never experienced a hunt like you provide for your clients. Having said that l know what it is like to put the time and effort in for me to do what l do, but to do what you do l guess l would have to magnify my efforts by ten fold, and for that l hold you in high regard. But it was your story and your open narrative that l found to be the best part of your video. So l thank you for sharing you channel and your wisdom with all of us.👍👍👏👏

I was paralyzed 3 years ago by an infection in my spine. I began running offshore fishing charters in 1994. Barry, yourself and I have something in common. We don’t quit. I’m learning to walk again! God has something for me to do. I survived bone cancer at age 7 (1977). I tell people everyday that with God anything is possible and “You will never know how strong you are until you’re challenged!” Man, you’re a mountain man and me I’m a waterman. Barry’s first hunt touched me because he was on the verge of tears because he succeeded. I’m there now. I was totally and completely paralyzed and I can now use a walker in physical therapy. Amen man.
