Some grow fast. The budgie in this video did not get the crop milk from it's mother. I hand to hand feed her from day two. She grew slowly. She was a few weeks behind in growth.

If your bird is puffed up most of the day then it's best to go to an avian vet as he could be sick.

I am watching baby budgie video to monitor my babies growth. Some baby start developing feathers when 16 days old and some does not. Mine is also small. Today the eldest one is 15 days. He is walking cutely and looks around when I bring him out.

Oh this sweet baby bird ,i have two budgies a male and female ,but although Olive fancys Berty he is not interested one bit lol but one thing ,why did you have to feed the baby bird ,dont the parent birds do that by themselves ? when i see baby birds i want to knit them a little jumper they certainly look fragile dont they

I am grandpa of 3 baby's now and one of them 10 days old look like 19days old in video, second one is about 8 or 9 days old looks like 16 days old, my issue is 3th baby about 6 or 7 days old did not show up any signs of feathers and is about 3x smaller than biggest one worrying me, tried to feed with A21 food mix and just ignored, stomach half full for 3th baby.

found issue, they was so cold to day and got blue and almost sick, there mother does not heat up them and smalest one suffers of food and now to day I feed all of them @@Loveofpets

There are other brands. Search on Google for hand feeding formula for baby birds and make sure its for your species. If you cant find any there may be receipts online.

This Budgie grew slow as she was rejected by her mother and did not receive crop milk. She was very tiny and weak and finally started to grow. My other budgies are fully feathered by four weeks and flying. This was was different. Thanks for watching!

I love your videos! All of the birds you raise are just darling! :) Do you mind if I ask a couple questions about budgie chicks? My female has laid a few eggs in the past, but this is the first time any of them have hatched. She only has 1 chick (the other 2 eggs were infertile). Is it normal for them to have a bit of a "chubby" belly? When he stands upright (or as upright as a 4 day old chick can stand) it doesn't extend past his knees, but it just seems large to me. Also, I noticed some dark, almost scab-like spots on the little guy. One on the back of his neck and one just under his beak. Is it possible the mom is being too rough when she's feeding him, or is this possibly something more serious? Thanks!

hey there, i just got a baby budgie (probably 6 weeks old) and it seems so scared and it doesn't move a lot. i put him in a nesting box with some tissues and millet seeds. it hides away and it just sits in one corner. should i hand feed him? im scared he is not use to eating millet seeds yet. how do i give him water? what should i do to make him feel safe with me and active and healthy... while hand taming it..? please help.

Syazlina Aasim Hi, was he weaned already? Was he being hand fed? Most birds are very frightened when they are taking away from their clutch mates and home and put into a new environment. Take away the nest box as he will only hide. Keep the millet in cage and place on the bottom of cage along with a small bowl of water and budgie pellets and seeds. Also offer greens, peas, corn and apples. place a sheet around the three sides of the cage leaving the front open. Only offer hand feeding if he was used to being hand feed. He should eventually eat once he is settled. Put his cage against a wall in a quiet location until he gets settled. How long have you hand him?

+Anu Madhusidhu I have a heating pad under the critter keeper that she is in. She is in a smaller container full of Kleenex. I keep a light towel over 90% of the top of the critter keeper. I also have a tiny container of water for humidity in the critter keeper.

My budgie was rejected by the mother and never got the crop milk and was underdeveloped. I hand raised her from the beginning. She grew slow.

Hello, my name is vento, and I need help for my baby budgies. I have a blue parakeet and a green parakeet, and they were nesting for 2 years, doing it 3 times. Two of them went perfectly fine, until this one. Once the 1st baby turned around 2 weeks, it died. We saw blood stains everywhere, so we guessed a different bird killed it. We put the nextling into a diff cage and the parents too, but the next day, those two wwere injured very badly, and blood stains. We found out it was mother. What shall i do? I asked teardrop face, but she told me she doesn't know alot about nesting, so she told me to ask you. Please respond quick, ty

vento Sounds like you should hand raise the baby as the mother does not want to care for them like my Sparkles did. The female should not be bred again. Are you sure it's the mother harming the babies and not the father?

4 years. Also, I just got the baby food for the parakeets, and I mixed it and boiled it and everything. The problem is, they won't eat. Any tips on how to make them eat? I've tried to give them the food in a spoon

+vento tap their beak gently. Put some formula on the side of the beak. They usually will taste it and will eat. Try an eye dropper

I didn't know it was so important, a have a first time mother budgie, feeds on nothing other than seeds and green hang on the cage. The pair don't eat eggfood meal to better feed the babies, so I started spoon feeding them on cooked eggyolk and grain meal liquid. Their growth is so slow, I don't know what else i can do.. I don't feed too often so that mom continues feeding but she doesn't feed enough. their crops almost dry..

I didn't buy handfeeding formula instead i used coffee grinding machine for dry baby budgie eggfood meal till it turns fine flour, then i make a watery paste to feed. They eat it nicely but their growth is slow just like your bird above. That's was i asked you the reason why they developed so late?

This is not fake. Yes Budgies grow in a month but if you watch my videos on this particular Budgie, you will see what it took her longer to grow. I don't post fake videos. This budgie was rejected by it's mother and was almost dead. She did not receive any call milk which is important for baby Budgies. I hand fed her and she grew very slow, I thought she would not make it but she did and is over a year old now. She grew very slow, it can happen to any animal or person.
