It's been a while since the last custom map game. Let's go with a different one today, with Element Tower Defense!

I have been doing tower D wrong my whole life.

Way back in the day wc3 online was my main game, most of the time I’d be playing tower defense. Elemental was really fun and I remember a pretty fun yugioh TD lmao those were the days, carefree kid playing wc3 all day

This was a blast to watch, you should totally upload more custom games like this, Grubby.

This strat is an innovation I didn't think I'd see.

My god this brought back a nostalgia hit..this plus the dragon ball z rpgs/duel and the dota ap/ar..miss those so much.

Guys i've got it how to win while selling element tower. Your hand must be fast to make it. For sure will make it until level 60. - 1st Phase: Buy and sell like grubby for cannon or arrow. - 2nd Phase: After element tower received, you can change it with element tower. If the creeps are weak against any element you have, just change it to cannon/arrow. - 3rd Phase: most probably you have received all element level 1. Build the upgraded tower (like hydro tower for earth element) on the lowest part of the maps. So that you have time to buy and sell tower. 3rd Phase you can buy and sell element tower after the each creeps end. Build the tower that are strong against each creep. The flow of element creeps are as follows: Light Earth Nature Fire Water

This looks like an incredibly unfun way of playing, I'm glad you enjoy but man TD for me is meant to be chill.

Those golems are op.... 9k damage for only 1k gold is just insane since other 1k gold towers do like 1k dmg.... :)

A blast from the past! I would like to see you maybe do a line tower wars next? Custom WC3 maps are more fun than most new releases by big corporations.

I remember playing this over a decade ago. It looks like it hasn't updated since. The selling strat was something I used too, but only for the first several rounds. I would not be able to keep up with this apm at all, so after the first several rounds it becomes tedious. Instead, I would aim for using the least amount of money to clear waves. Building only 2 towers that were capable of clearing an entire wave, knowing what the elemental weaknesses are to save money on some waves, and knowing what combo towers are the most effective for their cost. A lot of strategy over apm, but essentially still utilizing that interest rate bonus as much as possible.

I'm glad you enjoy the 100 percentage resell value Grubby, but it doesn't make sense to me and ruins the purpose of TD games which is strategy and planning.

This game map is Very good!

I remember this mod well especially 2.0, also the interest-strat with selling your towers every 14secs, though I never went through with it that long. I remember Nova Tower + Tornado-tower combo, that kept all waves stuck and pretty much didnt take any skill or micro, you could alt-tab out of the game and only lose after a bunch of ronald waves when there are so many, that their hitboxes push eachother out of the blockade, at a stage where they pretty much didnt take any damage anymore.

If the book is by Christie Golden, you know the book is gonna be great; don't even really need to know what book it is. :) Great taste, Grubby.

the people that make tower defenses simply don't get what made these maps fun: diversity in towers, many relatively easy waves with much income to do stuff. It's so sad that I cant find a standalone game that has that

This way of playing pretty much displays the brilliance on WC3. You put a lot of effort into a small (usually forgotten) detail, to get a small advantage, which eventually builds up and gives you a large advantage. Any plans to play more custom games? Perhaps some good old castle fight.

Have you tried youTD grubby? It's fun and it has more depth to it than Element TD imo

sc2 has this map, and it plays out way better due interface. test it out there

It's normal mode. I've played at least a thousand games of element td, everybody figured that out and we switched to the other modes where you only get 75 or 50 percent of your towers. In normal you don't even need these tricks if you know the map. Still a good video grubby

if you want some real intense Tower defense try YouTD its by far the most complex Tower Defense out there. Its the same system as Element TD but offers much much more.

Lacked impulse towers for long range clearing, also, his endpath and starter path was too weak. Only his middle had some meat to damage the mobs.

how is this worth when selling elemental tower only give back 75%

There's a different way to play this other than selling and rebuilding your basic towers? I thought everyone did that. Also, you can keep selling towers for longer if you rebuild tier 1 towers in advance. Those barely cost anything so you can prep that and then you can quickly upgrade them when you need them again.

when you chose the elementals I can go over 5000+ ronalds. first you make only the towers that give extra money on kill and then the ones that give extra lives

For someone who does impressive micro, I'm surprised Grubby doesn't know you can shift-build towers and do it even faster without having to spamming the shortcut over and over. Unless for some reason it doesn't work there. :o

I don't understand, why not get nonstop golems? They are so Imba and can move around, the towers you make don't seem to do anything compared to the golems. Also, golems are free or something? For how Imba they are, they don't seem to cost anything from what i remember? Edit: Yep if I played this game, after seeing this video I would mass golems and a few thorns plants for slow, then I would save up and get late game towers, whatever my golems lack or I need. There's no need for that interest rate hack, the other guy didn't do it and you only end up getting like 1000 extra after 30 mins, that's like quarter of a tower in late game. Grubby only lasted like two minutes longer than the other guy who didn't do it.

It seems like at the later stages you are holding onto a lot of extra cash even though yopu were almost leaking. Don't you think you would've been better off building more flesh golems or one more slow? Or was that kinda greed trying to keep gold advantages?
