Medical professional here. For those who are curious, I had a ton of fun ID'ing them for you guys! 13:35 - fragment of a fibula 19:10 - 1st metatarsal 21:00 - fragment of a tibia 21:23 - femur 22:45 - fibula (not a child's, luckily!) 24:14 - humerus 24:25 - scapula (mostly intact) 24:57 - skull fragment (hole is the foramen magnum) 26:28 - pelvis (pubis, likely male) 26:56 - femur 27:10 - humerus and ulna (very likely from the same arm!) 27:14 - fragment of a femur (most definitely a child's) 27:21 - fragment of a pelvis 27:30 - a horse's 3rd metatarsal 27:50 - femur (that one could have possibly been a preteen/teenager's or just someone very petite) 28:03 - fragment of a tibia (that one's from a pretty damn big dude) 28:12 - 2nd rib 28:13 - fragment of a humerus 28:35 - fragment of a tibia 28:45 - fragment of a radius 28:54 - femur 31:01 - mandible 32:00 - tibia 32:02 - radius and femur (someone very short) 32:10 - mostly ribs and tibias, child's mandible 32:41 - fibula, rib, and mandible 32:54 - fragment of a femur 33:00 - humerus 33:04 - tibia 33:09 - two ulnas 33:18 - rib and tibia 33:23 - ulna 33:30 - skull, scapula, or pelvic fragment (I'm unsure, but leaning toward pelvis because it's so thick) 34:19 - various ribs, tibias, radiuses, ulnas, fibulas, femurs, humeruses, and mandibles (including a child's) 34:40 - part of an ulna (the radius and ulna look quite twisty and odd, especially if they're in pieces) 34:49 - tibia 35:00 - tibia 36:20 - humerus 37:29 - mandible, deformed (syphilis vs congenital vs other) 37:35 - mandible, likely congenital deformation 38:43 - fragment of a sacrum (the holes are for a large network of nerves to pass through. Not sure about arthritis, though. It's so damaged I don't think anyone could tell) Thank you so much for putting this up, guys! I found it fascinating and I hope that ID'ing some of the remains helps give a little human identity back to these poor souls. May their next life be better than the last.

And watching him callously crush that poor little bloody crab tossing things around (he always tosses things, never places, even the human remains he'll look like he's about to place it respectfully then tosses it the last few inches, it's just so hamfisted) then as if hinging a plank on it's legs wasn't bad enough he fucking treads on it. It's heartbreaking. That there's no value in them, that they're not in a museum, that they're not reburried, that their remains are strewn about with debris and trash washed up in the surf. They had no value when alive, and no value when dead. I am thankful to have seen this. It definitely brings more awareness to it, and to how things used to be. There are quite a few bones that don't look adult here. I wish some of those kids had found and made better lives for themselves. But I suppose we all end up bones in the end.

Why? They’re being reclaimed by nature. The planet is littered in dead bodies....fussing about every single person “staying buried” is logistically unreasonable. Everyone dies. No one is special when you get down to it.

Very interesting. I was hunting along the Ouachita River in Arkansas after a flood event and came across a human pelvic bone and a femur. I was told by the guys that I hunted with who were locals that it is not uncommon to come across old bones uncovered by flood waters. Could be American Indians or European Settlers. No one could say for sure. I left them where I found them. Not much else to do.

Looks like so much fun to drive that, I’m a little jealous Edit: As the video goes on it hit me that all those people are unclaimed, no one knows who they are (well who they were) what there life was life, etc. It’s really sad to see this...I really hate that this happened to tons of people and no one will ever know who those people are. Hell that could be some of out relatives bones on that island or even in the video. I respect you for putting the bones back down around the same place. Edit 2: I did some research and they were buried in coffins, they were unmarked and 6 feet under the mud

Hello Si, hope you all had some fun after looking at all of those bones. It’s so depressing knowing that people of war were not properly buried. Such as life and we know back in the day it wasn’t easy to find them. Have a fantastic week ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜

Hi Si I watched your latest video you did on Deadmans Island and I agree with what you said about all those bones of people being removed and reburied somewhere else. They were human too after all and they deserve to have a proper burial instead of just being left on an island. It was very sad to see the jawbones of children too and I know they were all prisoners but they need to be buried properly somewhere else. Deb

And that's if you survived being shipped off to Australia and that's a big IF. The conditions on those ships were terrible. I can't imagine what it was like seeing the bones and jawbone with some teeth still attached. That's so nice of you guys to volunteer to help with the collection of the bones and maybe putting them all in one place. People should never be treated like they're a nuisance of society, even if they do unlawful things. The severe criminals are the ones that should go to prison but not ones that are trying to feed themselves and they are starving in their family. Starving so they steal things to feed their family. But putting children with adults is never a good idea in the criminal system. It's like Alcatraz, you wouldn't find any remains of children there, but that was built in 1934, a whole different time frame. Thank you for showing respect, I appreciate that. I was going to mention to you in the last video that I watched of how much Steve reminds me of my late hubby or he could be his brother because his mannerism, and just things that he does like putting together that VW Bug, my hubby owned a Bug back in 67or 68 and then in this video, you show a picture of Steve motocross racing and guess what? My hubby used to do the same thing. Isn't that amazing how similar they are? Thank you for another great video!!😊🌊

When did they start using the prison hulk's? Two of my Great Great Granddad's were sent to America in the mid 1700's as child prisoners. Both ended up fighting against there country of birth in the American revolution.

This was so interesting. I love learning about the history and appreciate u telling and showing me. Personally I don't think the bones need to b rebuired because they r turning back into nature. Nature is living on them and they r being eroded. Also I appreciate the respect u showed when handling the bones.

These human remains deserve more dignity than this. They need to be gathered and put in a mass memorial on that Island so they won't become curiosities for thrill seekers. So sad. Thanks, Simon for showing us this despicable situation.

@@hookedonguns5941 Some may have been hardened criminals but not all of them. Many were imprisoned or transported for stealing food or clothing. Many of the women were prostitutes. They were born into poverty and had no chance in life. They got by as best they could, Children as young as 10 were treated the same as adults. They could be sentenced to death for stealing food because they were starving, although often the death sentence was commuted in favour of transportation. However, some prisoners asked to be hanged rather than transported. Australia to them was an unknown and terrifying land. I've researched this a lot because I played the part of a female convict in a play called Female Transport. I have a lot of sympathy with those people. A fantastic vlog Si. It made me think and feel a great deal. Thank you x
