I appreciate that you show us what you are spraying at each stage of painting, weathering, and finishing. I can see the product and I don't have to refer to a chart to determine what colour or shade you are using. The end result is very fine looking. Well Done!
Thank you very much, appreciate it! For this video I decided to go without any subtitles and let the build process speak for itself, so to say. I want to create a peaceful, relaxed viewing experience and to be honest I find many of the subtitles in scale model build videos pretty repetitive (including my videos as well). Of course there are tons of much more instructional videos out there with very nice, informative and entertaining spoken narration, but since I'm not a native speaker and I'm not experienced enough in this hobby to talk about interesting stuff I'll leave that to the more talkative and qualified people. 😉
The attention to details is amazing.....and in such a small scale.....truly inspirational work resulting in an incredibly built kit. As always, it's such a pleasure watching your builds so here's to seeing more in 2022. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your kind words! The next build video will actually take a while because I'll be off to another rehabilitation program very soon. So many nice kits waiting on my desk for 2022, hopefully I'll find the time to build at least some of them. ☺️ Thanks again for your support, RWO
@@RWOModels My pleasure, your work is a pleasure to watch. Hope all goes well with the rehab program and that you will be on deck for more modelling in the future.
The Hellcat turned out absolutely fantastic, not over weathered but what you did do was perfect, I wish you a safe and Happy New Year, bext regards from Australia.
Thank you! I'm glad you like the style of weathering which may not be to everyone's taste. 😉 Happy New Year to you and your family as well, all the best in 2022! 🙂😉🍀
Super! Another very well done model. I especially like the many small details, which come out much better with the photo-etched parts. The addition of the paper-thin antenna is the icing on the cake. Really awesome! 👍 Thank you for this christmas present. 😉🎄
Thanks so much for your ongoing support! I really liked working with those tiny photo-etch parts, they do make a difference. Next build will have some of these as well. 😬 Cheers!
Vielen Dank!
Tamiya Cockpit green (IJN) is better for painting Japanese naval aircraft cockpits such as the Zero. The colors for the Hellcat would be Zinc Chromate Green for the cockpit.
Thanks for your feedback. I knew this color was not 100 percent accurate for a US Navy plane but I had this jar of XF-71 standing around for so long and eventually wanted to use it on a build. So I allowed myself this little bit of creative freedom. ☺️ Thanks for watching!
I also found the orientation of the fins a bit strange, just followed the build instructions here. Also there are small notches on the bombs indicating where and in which angle you need to attach the fins. So that's how I did it... I'm no real expert with bombs and armament so thanks for pointing this out. Cheers!
Как-то не могу соотнести саму модель со следами эксплуатации и совершенно чистый глянцевый винт без сколов. Так же не воспринимаю бомбы покрашенные глянцевой краской. В остальном очень красиво получилось.
Sorry for answering in English. I had to use Google auto-translate, hope I understood your comment correctly. Thanks for your feedback, sorry the model does not meet your expectations. I put a lot of chipping on my B-25 build and was criticized for it for good reason. Not every plane looked totally wasted and worn out back in the day, so meanwhile I tend to keep chipping as well as panel line effects to a minimum. Greetings from Germany and thanks for watching!
@@RWOModels Всё хорошо. Я сам не люблю сильно изношенные самолёты. Но глянцевые бомбы и винт???!!!! ИМХО просто задуйте их глухим матовым лаком и сразу всё буде просто супер.
I like everything. I am new to the hobby and you are truly an inspiration to me. What airbrush model and needle size did you use with the Vallejo paints?
Thank you so much for your kind words! 🙂 For this build I used my old H&S Evolution Silverline with 0.2mm nozzle. Good airbrush used by many modelers but with Vallejo Model Air it clogs up very easily and the trigger response is not so great. So meanwhile I have a couple of new airbrushes from Iwata and Sparmax. For Vallejo Model Air I'd recommend a 0.3/0.35mm nozzle setup which helps reduce the tendency of clogging up the airbrush. Hope this helps. Cheers!
Wow, your Hellcat looks amazing, Oliver. I really love the degree of detail you put into the cockpit and the maintenance surfaces. But what impressed me the most was your steady hand handling those tiny 1/72 PE-parts. Maybe that's also one reason for me changing to 1/48 scale. I wouldn't be able to do this. 😂 Enjoy the rest of 2021 and I wish you all the best for 2022. Cheers!
Thank you very much! Some of the PE parts were really tiny (for example the Pratt & Whitney logo on the engine) but it was a lot of fun and I'll definitely add some PE to future builds as well. Happy new year, take care and all the best for 2022!
Love the Speedmaster!!! And really like the bracelet? Do you mind me asking which bracelet is that? Almost looks like an Oyster. The Hellcat came out terrific by the way!!! Cheers
Thank you very much, and sorry for my slow reply. The watch is a 2005 Speedmaster Professional with the 1861 movement, Hesalite crystal and stainless steel bottom. The bracelet is the original one for this model, it's 20mm tapering down to 18. I find it extremely comfortable to wear and I think it looks very nice on average to bigger sized wrists. I also own the current Speedmaster model with the 3861 Chronometer movement and the new, narrower bracelet but I actually think it looks too small on my wrist, which is why I prefer my older Speedy. ☺️
Awesome! Will look for that bracelet. I have a 3861 haselite. Swapped the stainless back for an aftermarket sapphire and I'm waiting for a pulse bezel for it, got the cheapest one that comes with a sailcloth strap as I didn't like the new bracelet. So I'm looking for a nice option! Also my -3 Hellcat from Eduard arrived last week :)
Interesting you don't like the new bracelet as well... 😉 It received so much praise for its looks when the new Speedy model was released, and no doubt it is a gorgeous looking watch, but after I got it last year I realized I like the older model with the slightly bigger case and wider bracelet more. My dad owns a vintage 861 model with original bracelet, today I think this is the best looking Moonwatch. ☺️ Greetings from Germany, and enjoy your Hellcat build! Cheers, RWO
Im building this kit myself and I dont know if I should put all the stencils on? it doesn't look like you put them on and in 1/72 it might not be necessary as your model looks great!
Interestingly the kit I built, although being the "Profipack edition", did not include all those stencils so I could not put them on. About four years ago I built an F6F-5N in the cheaper "Weekend edition" and this one included the extensive stencil sheet. It's up to you but If you intend to heavily weather your model I'd say you can skip at least a part of the stencils because many of them won't be visibly anyway. Thanks!
@@RWOModels Yeah im building the f6f-3 from 2019 and comes with a lot of stencils but I feel like the stick out alot on a 1/72 scale plane maybe, and your hellcat looks really good without them so I think im going to do the same.
If it's the F6F-3 in the three-color Pacific scheme which is lighter overall than the Dark Seablue scheme maybe the stencils could add a few nice details here and there... Either way, enjoy your build! 🙂
