Those who contributed to your and Hannah’s ingenuity, perseverance, knowledge, integrity, honesty and work ethic are to be commended. You and Hannah are great Christian American role models. Thank you. 🙏👍🇺🇸🚜
You were broke down in the Imperial Lanes parking lot , right next to ISU Credit Union . If you would have walked a 1/2 a block farther south , there was a Hardees fast food , with plenty of stuff. I am really surprised you didnt have more people stop and offer help. Really surprised.
What makes this content So Good, is the very real mechanical technical content.... Measuring and narrowing a rear end! Awesome Stuff! And then the family about the hill climb and car shows! Even then struggle with the front wheel bearing when you are away from home. All of that is just real family experience. Thanks For Sharing!
Thanks, Cory, for the shop time. I enjoy seeing you make decisions as you build. That's how I've always done things. Most of the time, what I do works, and sometimes I have to punt. That's how you learn.
Let this be a lesson for you two, never leave home without your toolbox and the parts that you know are common failures. I’m glad you got everything fixed up without too many problems (except your wallet). Stay safe.
I think it's really cool you got to show the crosley to the guy you bought it from. And then got inducted into the membership club woohoo... LOL I got the Merlin reference.
Love it...back to the roots. Videos like this is exactly what put you guys on the map. An epic build showing your skill set not to mention showcasing the relationship between you! Can’t wait for next week
I am getting ready to do a Cummins swap on my 1970 f350. Love the content. Hopefully it will be on our RU-vid channel this next spring. God bless you guys.
Really sorry about the breakdown guys but it happens and more often than not you don't ever have the tools you need or in you case any at all but glad you got it fixed Cory. Glad the weather was good for the repair be careful and stay safe my friends God love❤ya both
Great video with a ton of variety & you made that wheel bearing swap look easy. Someday I hope to make to the Indiana hill climb from Wisconsin & thank you for sharing your adventures.
On the duelly diff the chev square body cab and chassis duelly is a lot norrow love the little fork lifti have a 1953 for van 132 in wheel base after watching that video im out buy as many old van I can get got so many cummins that one of your twin turbo a 6 speed allison and on them 22 in bad van LOL
Sounds like you have a Wheel Problem. Not so much an axle length problem. I'm thinking the 'free bucket' after you spend your life savings. Id for that bathroom stop you will need up ahead. Beach shirt truck repair. Those guys are everywhere. LOL Great video
For future narrowing projects, what I did was scribed a line from the bearing hub to the center housing on both sides before cutting . That allowed the ends to match up. Second as dumb as it sounds I pounded in a piece of exhaust pipe to hold the ends straight . Beveled as you did and welded it up.
I agree, you would be surprised how far the ends can be off from years of abuse and the welding of tbe spting hangers and other brackets. Go to McMaster Carr and pick up a 6' ground rod 1.25 to 1.5" dia, take the rod and the old bearings to a good maching shop and have some doughnuts made to fit. You can buy a kit but they are pricy. You do need to pull out the carrier, but that is the best way to do it. I got around $100 in my kit, then down the road if i shorten another brand or size of axle, have some more doughnuts made and you are all set.
Love Your Video's. What's a P Pump?...Can't imagine why a wheel bearing went out? Big spacers with Big Ass ole deep off set wheels and tires? Sometimes it the Price We Pay to have Cool things! LOL Another Fun Video!
A better solution would involve cutting the outer end off of the axle, and pressing/welding on a new outer flange, as opposed to cutting the middle of the tube.
You make dually under that van your never going to see the inner wheels unless your behind it. And if it’s slammed you won’t see it anyway!! Plus the fender well will be very big
I'm not saying I know more than you. I worked at a alignment shop for 8 years and found out that on the Dodges when you run over sized tires they have a tendency to trash the wheel bearings that is the week link
Ajp (you know the one , Mack Rat) the center fold on rat rod magazine and his vlog show you guys at that one show where you lowered that Dodge or ? Thanks Thanks BigAl California
