How do you know what GPM should be on a system? I'm running a Vitodens 100 and this pump is on the return side going into the boiler. The installer had this pump set at max all the time. I been trying it at auto/adapt and it's running mostly at 1 gallon. Any help would be appreciated
IMPORTANT CAVEAT: These pumps clog and fail with cast iron radiation (very common in the Northeast). The ECM pump magnetic field attracts iron oxide from the old pipes, clog and fail. If you don't mind callbacks and pissed off customers, put an ECM in a system with cast iron radiation. By the way, NEVER replace cast iron radiation... the huge thermal mass is fantastic for efficiency. One might be able to use a magnetic wye filter (needs to be 100% efficient). It's all in the physics.
