@@Mwarrior1991 Do you really feel that way? I’ve just watched 3 with him in a row and cannot think of a single example of this. I mean sometimes he had to shut josh down but it’s always because josh is missing a small part of the card or something like this I think this episode proves the opposite actually because ladee says some silly things sometimes or just misses things and DJ is always agreeable and goes along with what she is saying for the most part. Like when he said “like Ghalta” in reference to a big creature to get you a ton of mana off of Klauth and she says “well if you have so many creatures you could just be playing ghalta for cheap anyways” and he just says “yeah that’s true” even though that’s obviously not what he meant

You could use goblin bombardment to sacrifice a spirit in response to the sacrifice trigger to trigger the enrage and replace the spirit that died

Yes and have Havoc jester as well because he pings a target for 1 damage everytime you sacrifice a creature as well, so he can also ping Vrondiss when your spirit has to be sacrificed. I guess if you have both Goblin bombardment and Havoc jester then you could get 2 ping triggers on vrondiss and 2 new spirit Dragons just by sacrificing the 1!

- Make your commander indestructible (dark steel plate, heroic intervention, whatever); - Play scourge of Valkas, pinging your commander; - You create a 5/4 dragon that pings your commander then dies, that goes infinite; - if you have other cards that trigger on creatures entering the battlefield, like purphoros or impact tremors, or you can sac the 5/4 before it dies with cards like blasting station or goblin bombardment, you win the game.

You'd keep the 5/4s because they aren't dealing the damage, Scourge and the enchantments are. This means that eventually you ping someone with "infinite" damage from dragon count with Scourge

@@jabiluss This is incorrect. Each one of those cards (Scourge of Valkas, Warstorm Surge and Dragon Tempest) say "whenever (a creature) enters, *it* deals damage...". It's always the creature entering dealing damage not the Enchantments or Scourge. If you control any of those they would force you to sacrifice the token Vrondiss makes as soon as it enters.

Brash Taunter is insane. I've lost more games to that one card than any other specific card I can think of. Thanks for reminding me I need more to go with the 5 copies I already own, because it literally just goes in every red deck I build now. Also Caltrops is great for Enrage triggers. I've been running it in my dinosaurs deck since day 1 and it's definitely useful.

I think I am missing something. I took notes, and I see adding 10 cards and removing only 8. I have the pre-con, and love it. I guess they are a suggestion? I don't have time to re-watch it, and probably miss whatever again. This commander is perfect for my play group! We play Planechase so we are constantly rolling dice to either trigger chaos or to plansewalk so I really done need any Enrage enabling cards I get to roll 1 free roll per turn and thne pay an addition 1 for each other roll! Can't wait for Extra Turns!!

I respect the pressure of deck building in front of a global audience. With that said, I'd do a couple things differently, and my reasoning is explained. Removing Dragonlord's Servant and then admitting how expensive Dragons are later in the episode begs the question why not leave the Servant in and remove something else more useless in a higher CMC, thus lowering the overall curve of the deck while simultaneously keeping low-cost relevant tribe-ramping effects? Dragons are ridiculously expensive, so every single piece of cost-reducing effect is pure gold. Adding the Raptor is brilliant. Have both, keep both. Cutting Taurean Mauler also cuts the fun, too: Play on turn 3, after one rotation it's probably 6/6+ by turn 4, AND is a Dragon, and then you could freely curve into Aether Flash to shut down your opponent's weenies while having a Dragon that is a huge threat and demands an answer :)

Also, unfortunately the second ramp card didn't get mentioned...I love the idea of these upgrades, especially for new players, however, it feels rushed if they do not stick to their own rules (happened in 2 videos this commander-cycle)...I mean, even if they would take out some lands (as the precons usually run an above average amount) they could mention it in a side-note...but maybe I'm expecting too much...

I know these guys were underwhelmed by Chaos Dragon, but what I just thought about is if you equip him with Assault suit then you can pass him to each of your opponents on their turn and give him the possibility of damaging one of your opponents on each of your opponents turns as well, and you are guaranteed never to be hit by it too!

@@fernandostar3507 I never heard of that card so I looked it up. It looks pretty good to use in the deck too, comparing it directly to Havoc Jester if you only had a slot for one or the other they both have their pros and cons, on one hand the furnace has a lower mana cost so it comes in earlier in the game, it's an enchantment so it's harder to remove, it's cons though are the fact that you have to pay 2 mana to do the 2 damage, and it also does more damage, so if you're only using both as pingers on the commander you can get more pings from the jester without killing Vrondriss, and you're not wasting precious mana to trigger the ping as well. However you can also use the furnace to ping opposing players life total and Creatures as well. So the furnace is more versatile as well.

Came here to say this. Every enrage enabler they mentioned in the episode is a once per turn effect, as a second activation would kill Vrondiss. Pyrohemia can net you 3 5/4s per turn without killing Vrondiss, so long as he isn't taking other damage. And you can Pyrohemia EVERY turn, not just on your own.

I turned this into a "stop hitting yourself" deck and took out almost all the dragon pieces. I did not expect to like Vrondiss as much as I did. The deck is a blast now with cards like Brash Taunter and a bunch of other fight abilities as my pseudo creature removal. And so many aoe damage spells so I still get enrage triggers from Vrondiss, Ripjaw Raptor, and Ranging Raptors.

Sacrifice outlets could be really helpful. Once the token does it's damage and the ability goes on the stack, sac with something like goblin bombardment and get a new token out.

I got a Balefire Dragon from the list recently, and already had Terror of the Peaks, so yeah those definitely went in there! So many powerful dragons that it tends to protect your commander from targeted removal.

Honestly heavily recommend Game Genics over Ultra PRO. Ultra PRO has consistently pumped out poop quality plastic, so I doubt this is much better. Bought a limited black n' orange Squire XL. Game Genics is worth every cent; even has fleecy interiors for your cards' safety, and wide enough to ACTUALLY fit 100 double sleeved cards, or like 150 normal sleeved. Also, the tops pop off and are magnetic, so you can set them up to lean backwards for easy drawing!

Ok so either I can't count or I must have missed something. We are taking in: 10 cards Xenagos Court of Ire Tireless provisioner Lurking Predators Purphoros, bronze-blooded Hammer of Purphoros Brash Taunter Wrap in vigor Marauding Raptor and Aether flash But we are only taking out 9 Cards? I really like this deck. I think there is tons of cheap/overlooked cards that would synergize very well with all those dragons. Where Ancients Tread 4R enchantment Whenever a creature with power 5 or greater enters the battlefield under your control, you may have Where Ancients Tread deal 5 damage to any target.

In The Web of War 3RR Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under your control, it gets +2/+0 and gains haste until end of turn.

An absolutely insane combo for this deck would be Vrondiss, Brash taunter, and Fiery emancipation! You activate Brash taunter's ability to have it fight Vrondiss, and Fiery emancipation triples Vrondiss' damage to Brash taunter to 15 damage, then when Brash taunter turns around to dish that 15 damage it received from Vrondiss to a player it gets tripled again by Fiery emancipation to 45 damage taking out any player that is not a life gainer in one shot! Oh and don't forget you also get a 5/4 spirit dragon token that can deal another 15 damage to something at a later time, or immediately if you have warstorm surge or terror of the Peaks on the field as well!

I think there is just so much new stuff coming out they can't do every episode. We barely finished Modern Horizon's 2 and they immediately had to do the whole new DnD set and each commander deck, and it isn't slowing down. They just need more people to do videos like this.

y'all r awesome! i do disagree with the inclusion of tireless provisioner in lieu of dragonlord's servant. the provisioner doesn't survive marauding raptor's trigger and the deck isn't focused on making additional land drops. the provisioner is a powerful card however, and that might be enough. keep up the good work and grats on expanding!

Just dropping by to note you can't build up your token army with Scourge of Valkas in play, since they disappear right after dealing damage. Anyways, I think I'll be mostly upgrading this deck towards the more combo-ish route, but this still gave me a few ideas, so thanks!

Neverwinter Hydra only rolls one d6 for four mana, with the double X cost every two mana is one additional die. I plan on running Klauth as the Commander so I'm gonna try it, but it does seem too risky to just dump a bunch of mana into and roll a bunch of ones.

I think even with Klauth, just going dragon tribal is fine. Maaybe Xenagos and Galtha in there, but otherwise..

I also went with klauth instead and made versions dragon tribal and combo version with extra combat spells, draw equal to power cards and pump spells

Big spells are kindred summons, dragon storm, tooth and nail, genesis wave (which is ridic in this deck lol) I still want to get fiery emancipation and world at war, and currently I'm waiting for the great henge to be shipped. Also contemplating putting sword of feast and famine in there. Honestly carddraw is this decks biggest problem, you just vomit out your stuff, and if they have a boardclear youre kinda screwed. Oh, and Terror of the peaks finishes games for me soo often. Stupid card, especially with Lathliss on the board.

@@WambwneD Oh yea the big spells are great. I don't have dragonstorm in there yet but Kindred Summons is incredible every time I cast it, it's the main reason why I'm sticking with dragon tribal instead of big Gruul.

Havoc Jester seems like a good card for the deck. Whenever you sacrifice a permament do 1 damage to any target. Easy one to ping the commander for more tokens.

Yes, but it has 2 strikes against it, one it's mana value isn't worth it, and 2 since it's a Hydra it doesn't fit this deck! Literally the only reason it fits the deck is because it has you roll dice to ping your commander! I'd rather have Havoc Jester in the deck than the Hydra, instead of getting just 1 ping on your commander when it etb's you literally get a ping on your commander everytime you sacrifice your spirit tokens (which you're going to be doing a lot of), or any other creature you decide to sacrifice!

Feel it's worth mentioning that Scourge of Valkas is a bit of a nonbo with the tokens though. The wording is misleading but it is actually whichever dragon ETBs that does the burn. The floor is that you enrage your commander to get a lightning bolt though, which is pretty nice still. But still. Worth a mention.

How I built it: Remove all dragons. Add terror of the peaks, stalking vengeance, and purphoros. Make all the other creatures either things that ping and other creatures with enrage (Dino’s) Add spells that ping Add spells that ramp Add spells that draw cards Remove all dice roll cards besides component pouch (maybe) and also add in delina wild mage.

Nice deck tech, but I'm a bit surprised that Ladee didn't lean heavier into the Enrage mechanic and its pay-offs. Ripjaw Raptor, Ranging Raptors, Pyrohemia and Caltrops are all very budget friendly cards that fit the theme perfectly. Greater Good is also insane in the deck, as is Elemental Bond as a replacement for Colossal Majesty. That is only an 8 cards-swap, including Marauding Raptor and Aether Flash, so there is still room for Where Ancients Tread (the enchantment deals the damage here so the tokens stay alive !) and either Lurking Predators or Brash Taunter. I personally wouldn't run Tireless Provisioner because she dies to both Marauding Raptor and Aether Flash - and those are some of the best cards in our deck that we want to cast early and keep around if possible !

neverwinter hydra is gonna go in my gargos deck. the hydras cost 4 less to cast basically gives it an average of 6 free +1/+1 counters. that's busted

I've been playing a Tiamat deck on Brawl. It's dumb and hard to get going but when it works I drop a billion dragons. Old Gnawbone is the key to doing that.

Crucible of fire would be dope in this deck, just a solid anthem effect for all your dragons for only 4 mana with only one mana being colored. Draconic Intervention would be great in this deck as late game it's basically a board wipe to your opponents.

Prodigal Pyromancer is a good enrage enabler, too. It's a 3 cost 1/1, tap to deal 1 damage to target creature or player

I put in Ogre Battledriver in for haste and the power boost for that first turn. Also put in Rhythm Of The Wild for haste as well and if haste isn’t needed can also give a counter.

The most casual way to upgrade this deck is to buy a Planar Deck, and convince your playgroup to play Planeschase.
