@@b.c.7741 I think I prefer Hammer of Purphoros to give haste. It is in and of itself an artifact, costs less mana, and it's activated ability is not irrelevant since it can trade lands for artifact creatures. If you sacrifice artifact lands, you can recur them with Osgir for free.
@@seymour47 Thats fair enough, I also disliked the walking dead debacle but it's 6 months later. Someone just made him a compliment for what he is doing now, I don't think it's needed to keep bringing it up or relevant to what OP said. Just watch something else, its better for your well being
I'm a big Boros/Lorehold/Red&White fan and having Murph and DJ for this episode was awesome! They are great at covering those colours and they are so joyful and interesting to listen to. Thanks for having them!

I love the command zone with all of my heart. But when they took out Joe Kadeem (give creatures you control +3/+0 if you control 3 or more artifacts) because the deck isn’t about “smashing face”, then in the end, “What’s the win-con?” “We’re gonna get big creatures out and smash face.” 💀 Love you guys.
So awesome to have Murph and DJ do this episode, they both are so natural and pleasant to listen too. The Command Zone and Jumbo Commander are amazing, keep up the great work and the awesome collaboration!

Scuttling doom Engine is a MUST HAVE for this guy! 😍😍 with a sac outlet you can sac it, reanimate and copy and then sac the two dudes. For 18 damage. Gets even crazier with Bosh. :D
I've only played one game with the Precon, but that game went about as smoothly as could be asked of it. The game had three acts: the first I had slowly built up mana and advantage with Archaeomancer's Map and copying Ancient Den and darksteel citadel until I had about 40 power on the board with the help of Digsite Engineer. At which point, the Prismari player had to Blasphemous Act or else my creatures would have gotten out of the 13 damage range, but doing so wiped his own army of 4/4s and most of what everyone else had going for them. So in the second act, I was able to rebuild faster than anyone else because of the graveyard recursion and take over the game again, this time with copies of Angel of the Ruins and copies of sculpting steel copying Angel of the Ruins; nobody else had any artifacts or enchantments going after that. Prismari was able to get back his Blasphemous Act, but I was able to negotiate and kill the other two players first. The third and final act was won with a combination of Thousand Year Elixir, two token copies of Steel Overseer, and Battlemage's Bracers which let me put 6 +1/+1 counters on each creature, closing it out with Pia Narlaar and her innocuous token. Osgir is a toolbox commander with a huge amount of value generation through the graveyard who can enable himself as a sac outlet, which incidentally comes with a pump effect that Boros is primed to take advantage of. Lorehold Legacies can sustain pressure on the opponents with tall evasive creatures, and the graveyard sub theme gives the deck great bounce-back potential after a board wipe. Generally, I never felt like I was without options and had a very proactive play experience.
I like the idea of separating Alibu and Osgir/Jor as different, more focused decks. As it comes, it's trying to do too many different things but these could both be really solid as their own decks. Also kinda digging the idea of an elemental warriors deck using Laelia.... I realise she's a spirit not an elemental, but something on that theme could be fun! So there's at least 3 new deck ideas right out the box, I like this one!
Karn the great creator: turns off opponents' artifacts and recurs yours from exile Ugin's nexus: prevents opponents from taking extra turns and if you sac it you get extra turns
Love seeing the mix up of hosts, Dj's positivity and enjoyment of the format radiates from him and Murphs balance of analytical and silly was great to watch too.
pull from eternity and isochron scepter is a fun combo I'm putting in mine for exile recursion. get the 2 copies of something, pop scepter to put it back in grave yard and make 2 more copies. poor mans anointed procession I guess haha

Great content. I disagree with the Key to the City cut... The card isn't amazing, but it provides you with a way to close out a game with providing your general unblockability for a fairly cost effective card that early game can be used to simply filter through cards you don't need like lands or meh artifacts at that time.
i've found key to the city super good in this deck. Everyone seems to forget the sac outlet on the commander pumps a creature +2/0, including himself. Giving your commander unblockable with an artifact that pitches artifacts to your graveyard that you can then also reanimate is SUPER good.
So I kind of just realized something about reprint value. Initially my though process was congruent w/ what the hosts were saying, basically good job w/ reprint value on this deck. But then I thought about card prices recently and how much they've increased since the start of the pandemic. Maybe this is the new normal or maybe we're in some kind of bubble, but it would be interesting to try to account for this a bit. My suspicion is that the reprint values this year aren't actually that much different if we are accounting for this change over time. I'm not necessarily trying to make a claim here, and I'm for sure not saying that Wizards is screwing us. Maybe I would just say that the reprint value might not be as amazing as we're making it out to be in the greater context of the recent price inflation.
This is no longer a 30 upgrade. I think this deck is definitely great. A fun new way for R/W. But definitely going to boost the value of a lot of cards.
I love that you folks are playing thise upgraded decks. I allways liked the command zone episodes were you so these upgrades and I am excited to see them in action. I hope that that will be a permanent thing now :D Also I am especially excited for the Lorehold deck. It is my favorite from the deck and I am thinking about converting it into a deck with Breya at the helm.
I know I'm late to this party but I just got this deck. You just add solemn simacrilum, equip lightning greaves, flip the equip an infinite amount of times between between the commander, activate rogues passage and swing to the face one opponent per turn. And that's game.
Interesting thing with Losheel is that it is ANY artifact creature which means instant speed token producers like retrofitter foundry can allow you to draw multiple cards per turn. Cool piece of tech for a color pair that needs the draw power.
I must say, the Cuts in this episode were on point. I mean, I still dont like that Hellkite Tyrant, but only because the best players in my playgroup say that it backfires too often, and I understand what they mean, after all, you mentioned it already
I dont normally comment and I know Josh and Jimmy are the face of the Command Zone, DJ has his own channel, and Murph is mostly behind the scenes... but I really have to say I really enjoy DJ and Murph bounce off each other very well and when DJ co-hosts, it really makes for some really great viewing when anyone feeds off of him. Love the show, love the substitutes. Great work as always.
So I'm sitting here with the unchanged pre-con in front of me and I'm counting 10 artifacts that cost 2 or less if the lands are included. Where did your count of 6 come from?
I have to disagree a bit on key to the city. Pitching something like thran dynamo directly to the gy to copy with osgir is mostly likely usually ideal, and it helps your creatures get in which is how the deck often wins. You can even surprise one shot people with osgir
Im going with this deck and making it all about creatures like Filigree Familiar and Scuttling Doom Engine and Crystalline Giant making copies of them it's going to be so much fun
This was great. I immediately thought about Phyrexian Triniform when I saw the other similar art. creature revealed. I've had that (2xl) in my binder and wanted to use it. Finally it will be time. Nice work Murph!
Osgir is just so strong, and flavourful! Gives Feather a run for her money for strongest Boros/Lorehold commander. I probably won't play him, but I would love to see him at a table.
I think wizards stepped up the Boros color combo. I even made a deck on scryfall based around a lorehold commander and I have thought for te longest time that Boros was lacking!
22:32 Osgir with those bracers will generate a lot of value with low CMC (mana value) sacifacts, such as Soul-Guide Lantern, lotus bloom, and many people's favorite - Wayfarer's Bauble.
Key to the City has won me at least a few games just by dealing commander damage by sacrificing a bunch of artifacts with my commander for 1 mana to adding +2/+0 each time.

(love you jumbo btw these past few episodes have been a treat!)
Nasty little combo: Goblin Welder, Thornbite Staff, Phyrexian Triniform, any other artifact. Infinitely sacrifice and recur Phyrexian Triniform because Goblin Welder sacrifices it and that causes Thornbite Staff to untap it and you can use Goblin Welder again
I wanted to make a deck with both of them, sure I can get the value with the main guy but alibou being the engine that deals the dmg I need to win games. I mean, think about it. Osgir floods your board with token copies of artifacts like signets and creatures while alibou is your detonation card.
Key to the City: "We're not attacking with one big thing, we're mostly attacking with smaller things." Jor Kadeen: "If we're cutting Alibou because we're not going wide enough, we're cutting Jor Kadeen because we're not going wide enough." Also: "You can win with one of the big beaters, like Phyrexian Triniform or Triplicate Titan." WHICH IS IT? But yeah, Key doesn't work well as a discard/draw engine, that I totally get.
Murphhhhhh! Gotta say, you may have dropped the ball on Rip Apart! Remember cash's narset! I think planeswalkers are too relevant to cut a new card like that!
I realize they cut Key to the City but I think it'd work well with Goblin welder and some of the other graveyard cheat cards to get big artifacts into the graveyard early and get the added bonus of a quick shot in on your opponents (possibly even some commander damage).
