I remember when I was getting a divorce after 28 years, one of my friends told me that one day you will sit down on your couch, light a candle, and feel peaceful. At the time it was hard for me to imagine, but I can remember the very minute that it happened! Love you, Melissa!

It’s fascinating that you kept your assets separate when you married so young. Most people don’t I think. Its really about emotional maturity. Bravo to you both.

Melissa, thank you for this talk. I'm not divorced but my husband of nearly 38 years passed away last year and there are similarities in how those losses affect people. I've always been strong in a lot of areas but losing someone also made me feel at a loss as to how I do the things I want to do without the person I planned to do them with. For me, the idea of traveling on my own has been intimidating. However, even though I've booked the trip to Paris and leave next week all my fears of what could go wrong are creeping back. Today, I'm going to focus on what will go right and put that out in the universe thanks to you.

I think this is a good video even for myself, married SAHM. Marriage is hard and we sometimes forget what truly matters. It is so important for our kids to see how to properly handle things. Not only that but to always look on the bright side. It really does improve the mood of things. ❤️

That’s called Law of Assumption, where you change the way you think about yourself & your life, and the universe shows you evidence of what your beliefs are. It’s a game changer and more ppl need to know how they can create great things in their lives by changing their mindset & their self-value.

Thanks for making me cry. Whenever something touches me I cry. Especially because I’m going through all this. I’m not married, but in the same relationship for 22 years. It’s toxic and we have a 19 year old who has witnessed a lot. Makes me sad that he had to see all the fighting and arguing. I feel like this is gonna be my life. Since the pandemic. All I do is stress eat. I’ve gained lots of weight. So insecure. I was already. It made it worse and I stay in. I probably need thousands of hours of therapy. I hope I can get out of this. I’m always sucked back in. Thank you so much!

Mel thank you for being continuously frank and open. Personally I think that you speaking to the world about your life experiences is extremely valuable. The voices of women need to be heard. You being brave enough to share supports and uplifts others. I've been watching your videos for years and am glad to see you so happy now.

Hi Melissa! Thanks for doing this video. Not many people discuss how lonely and isolating divorce is. I have finally started over. Divorce will be final next month and I have moved to a luxury apartment home. I was married for 27 years. We raised 3 amazing children who are all adults now. I am loving my new independence. My only regret is that I didn’t do this sooner. I was too afraid. Now I am older and afraid my best years are behind me. I lost some friends and in laws who I thought we’re family through this process. I hope to date one day soon but for now I am learning me. Thanks again for sharing

In general I think we find it hard to speak to others about things not going how we expect them to. I'm mod pregnancy have felt horrible and it took me telling everyone about it for weeks for my entire family of women to crack and say yes they were just as bad and it seems to be part of a family thing with having difficult pregnancies. But it took them weeks of asking me how I was and me expressing how bad it was. I was surprised because they could have saved me a lot of trouble had they told me it was a family thing and I would have known it wasn't going to change or get better and would have taken treatment right away rather than trying to ride it out. I don't want to say it's lack of solidarity I think it's honestly our blaming of ourselves and feeling like a failure that we don't want to disclose that. Shame attached to it. So happy you were able to get out of depression and that you're in a good place with yourself to feel comfortable speaking about your experience without believing the narrative of it reflecting on who you are in any way. I've followed you for a long time I am happy to see you talk about feeling stronger :)

Thank you for this video. I have been separated from my ex for 3 years. He has dated for 2 1/2. I started dating in March. He has kept his girlfriend secret from my children the whole time however after dating a few months myself I decided to tell my 14 year old daughter since I really like this person. She did not take it well and basically said that she wants me happy however does not want me to talk about it nor does she want to see him. The mom guilt is so hard to deal with. Do I let my kids rule my life forever and keep everything a secret or do I choose my happiness to? I love them so much and don't want to hurt them. My and and I are like yours. Still friends most of the time. Still do things as a family for the kids. My kids don't want any change to that or any new people. Its so hard.

Talk to a professional. Better help has online people so it feels less daring. Because this seems like a really tight spot. Glad your daughter wants you to be happy, that's nice to hear. Sending hugs

I been divorced almost 4 years. My daughter was 13 at that time. Me and my daughter are siesta been very close. But She didt not like the idea that any other man will come to our life beside her daddy. I gave my daughter her time.. Bcz it’s too much to handle for kids. Now she is very happy for me she get along so well with my boyfriend… I would say kids needs time. Specially teen girls. Try to be her friend and mother when needed. Things will definitely work out for you. 🙏🏻❤

Hi. Is it Canada like here in US that the kids split between parents or 1 week one then 1 week the other? And is custody of the kids split 1/2 and 1/2? Who decides in Canada the logistics? The courts or the parents themselves?
@dragamboazulinqiacupuntura122
@dragamboazulinqiacupuntura122 10 месяцев назад
If parents are in agreement it wouldn't make sense for courts to have to butt in. I don't know anything about it but although challenging two mature people who can agree should be able to sort it out in my opinion
@Purse.911
@Purse.911 10 месяцев назад
that all sounds ideal, I wanted to learn about the logistic in another country because the one here I know very well, and maturity is not really that determining but more the law.@@dragamboazulinqiacupuntura122
