I skipped filming here last month since I got tired of filming this after each date it's supposed to be open plus because the gateless signals lights were damaged. I filmed this time as because last week, I seen the lights were fixed but I didn't film it right away. The week after which is this week, I decided to start here to get a video of the lights fixed and ended up discovering that a new cantilever signal foundation was installed on the north side of the crossing for the southbound lane meaning UP is preparing to finally re-install the northern signal after it was removed back in March 2023 for construction of adding middle lanes bridge up on Highway 50 overhead and the previous signal was where the now column sits at. The foundation is exactly in front of whete the old signal was at by a few feet. Not sure if UP has the previous signal stashed somewhere and will reinstall it or install a totally new signal and the previous went into replacement parts stock pile. It will be another gate attched cantilever also. It shouldn't have back side mast lights as they will be blocked by the concrete column and will be pointless. Be cool if UP installed a gateless mast signal on the other side of the column to sport the back lights. I wish UP would use a Progress Rail cantilever as they come with GS Type 3 E-Bells when UP uses those cantilevers so it could be a tripple bell combo here. Also, the freeway overhead new middle bridge is in use by traffic now and if you noticed, the temporary fence down on Ramona Ave is now gone by barricades are still up.
Speaking of bells, the gateless pedestrian signal finally had its GS E-Bell fixed after not working for the 5 and a half years since day one when this crossing had its signals built in 2018. Surprisingly, the bell ended up being an General Signals Type 2 Electronic Bell used in 2018 at a time when UP was well into Type 3 when they were using GS E-Bells. This means the bell was either stock new or used when installed as the rest of the equipment I already mentioned a while back of the gateless signal is made from used and stock new equipment itself also.

Union Pacific Railroad Florin Flyer Local freight train passes through the closed temporary setup Ramona Avenue railroad crossing coming off the UP Fresno Sub on the UP Placerville Branch in Sacramento, California. I also got an inbound Sacramento LightbRail Train on the Gold Line's Brighton Bridge. The Flyer was running late this day due to having problems in the P&G Polk Yard after they came from West Sac. They ended up tying up on the Placerville this day.
The foundation clip was filmed on my phone hours before the train came.
