Overall a good video. But, there were certain operations you carried out, i.e. Oiling etc. Out of shot, which I found irritating. That aside, a good video though. Cheers mate.👍🏼
The Grips are Recover Tactical 1911 and I got them from Ebay, about £35 if I remember correctly. They need a small bit of modding to fit the UK spec GSG 1911...this is a small cutout to allow the barrel retaining pin to be removed for stripping, and also, where the rear bar is fitted to the mag receiver, they need a bit of shaping round that to fit - I left mine alone here and there is a small gap, but is unnoticeable in use. The bridge mount for the scope was from Amazon, but I am not sure they still do it anymore. This is a single sided bridge mount which can lead to flex and sight movement, so best to go for a true bridge mount that straddles on both sides for extra rigicity. GSG do a dedicated 1911 mount if you can find one and is about £60.
@@AntChesney Cheers for the reply, very helpful! I'm just concerned that the GSG bridge mount won't clear the slide if the recover tactical grip is used as it looks like the picatinny rail it provides is positioned a little lower than the native one if you have the tactical version. I'll probably just bite the bullet and buy and hope it fits! The amazon bridge mounts that are available look like they provide more clearance but could lead to a much larger ga between the rail and the top of the slide
@@dowdy20 now thats true. The Recover grips do lower the mouning rail by a good 6mm and we have a member who has the tactical version with the GSG bridge mount and even in that config it runs close to the top of the slide. The lower rail can be had from GSG and you'll have to drill and tap mounting holes to suit. It is dificult to find but they are aboit. Maybe contactng Edgar Brothers who are the UK importers for GSG xould help source one.
@@AntChesney I've taken your exact advice and sourced the lower rail from them, once that's fitted I can then look at the different mount options. Issue is the GSG mount is £60!
