GST Registration New Process from 30 August 2023 | GST Registration with Biometric Aadhaar Authentication
📅 Key Points to Note:
1. Changes to Rule 8: A significant update has been made to Rule 8 of CGST Rules. Applicants who selected Aadhaar authentication and were identified through data analysis and risk assessment on the common portal will now undergo biometric-based Aadhaar authentication. This also involves capturing the applicant's photograph.
2. Pilot Implementation: The new procedure is about to be rolled out through the GSTN portal. The pilot phase of this functionality is set to launch in Puducherry from August 30, 2023. If you've submitted Form GST REG-01 and haven't yet received your Application Reference Number (ARN), you might either receive instructions to visit a GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK) or a link on your declared Mobile and Email ID.
3. Completing the Application: Applicants receiving the link for Aadhaar authentication on their Mobile and Email ID can proceed with their application as usual, following the existing implementation.
4. Visit to GSK: For those who receive a message to visit a GST Suvidha Kendra (GSK), a mandatory step awaits. You'll need to visit the designated GSK location as communicated via Mobile/Email. Here, biometric authentication for all required individuals, as per GST Application Form REG-01, will be carried out. It's crucial to visit the GSK before the TRN expiry date mentioned in the Email for the Biometric-based Aadhaar Authentication process. Your Application Reference Number (ARN) will be generated after the successful completion of this process.
5. Operation Days: The operation days of the GST Suvidha Kendra will be as advised by your state's administration.
