Damn that car is fast. I raced a 911 on my TL1000R and when he actually fell back out of my peripheral I looked at the speedo and it said 155. Coolest race ever. We were neck and neck shiftin' through the gears.......

@cardshark525 No actually most hypo car drivers choose a roll-on because they can't get traction from the dig. Sure the bikes tend to wheelie if they launch too hard but the advantage is with the bike unless the car has mega-bucks clutches, suspension mods and slicks. Usually the quickest road cars off the line are AWD like modded EVO's and WRX's. The performance car has got to have low gearing to get off the line so the bike usually clears off between their 1 - 2 shift.

@santjustin The fastest Supra's are auto, the gears are longer so you're in boost and on the throttle longer (once a Supra is under boost the powerband is actually quite wide, and with the manual you're wasting car lengths shifting 3-4 times), and it maintains boost between shifts so you don't have to build it up again each time.

You can always have fun on a bike. Even a dead straight road is much funner. Traffic jams are really where the bike is much funner then the car. Swerving in and out of traffic passing everyone who is stopped.

@M2fiftycal Yet the bike did Bridge to Gantry which is at least 30 secs quicker so add 30 sec to your bike time. Which would be 2.49 The quickest official time is by Helmut Dahne on a Honda RC30 750 V4 in 1993 at 7.49 but that was 20.83 km so would be equavalent to 7.19 over 19.1 km, the distance all bikes ride over these days. There are no separate timed sessions for bikes so they ride on public days with traffic. The quickest current bike is a Suzuki GSXR 600 ridden by Andy Carlisle at 7.19.

@Msashman If you want the top performance, you sacrifice comfort. There are, however some really quick sport touring bikes that are super comfortable. I've been on the 2011 Honda VFR1200, the Ninja 1000, and the Triumph Speed Triple. All have plenty of power, and put no stress on your back or wrists.

Same can be said about a car. Any "idiot" with the right amount of money can go as fast as he pleases. But no matter how much money you have, real skill is developed with time. Not all bikers can wheelie, even less can corner properly.

@FocusRS1991 ok, we are talking about production motorcycles that cost 13 grand. Anyone with a decent job can go to a local dealer and get one. Yet for some reason, people compare cars with 10s of thousands of mods, or in your case a limited run (25 planned for sale in the US at $190k!) car that nobody can get! The fact is that for a reasonable price, anyone who is not poor can buy a bike that rivals supercar performance. I'd rather go fast on a bike I can get than read about a car I can't.

The amount of fan boys on this video is amazing, comments such as '1000s are untouchable' 'only thing stoping me is fear'... I myself own an 04 gsxr 1000, supurb bike and a lot of fun.. but there are some VERY fast cars on the road. UGR. LMR. PSI. Titan. Boost logic. Not to be a fan boy myself but.. TT lambos. Big single turbo supra. Turbo corvettes. All well built and all beat 1000 like they are standing still. Experienced it. I want you to do yourself a favor. Type in TX2K ... Now please, stop being ignorant.

@madfish70 I ride a CBR daily, and have no issue with it. The comfort issue makes people think they need to get cruisers though, when in fact, there are plenty of sport touring bikes that offer plenty of performance at a much greater comfort level then superbikes or supersports. I love my CBR and am thinking of an R1 next, so it's not an issue for me, but it is an issue that keeps a lot of people off of sportbikes.

raw power rarely matters, its all about weight to horsepower ratio. And i would love to see a car beat a turbo busa or a Y2k. First hand experience. My dads 1968 Javelin SST 343 V8 rated at a bit over 300hp weighs as much as a jeep wrangler vs a late 90's mustang cobra rated at close to or over 400hp. Javelin whooped the Mustang Cobra due to weight to horsepower ratio. Just my 2cents.

@M2fiftycal That bikes do Nurburgring Bridge to Gantry which takes 30 seconds off their time when compared to cars like the Veyron, Porsche GT3 and Nissan GTR. The last time a bike did the same length track as these cars was in 1993 and that lap was 7.49. You can't reliably directly compare the times of bikes as they run only on public days with mixed traffic. Many of these car times are done on closed sessions. I'm on the side of truth and accuracy. I'm a motorcyclist and a car driver.

Enough!!! I've seen these car vs. bike races enough on here. Given they're entertaining to watch but just plain silly. Straightline the bike will ALWAYS win (Veyron excepted) but the car will out corner/brake the bike all day. It's two separate sensations to violently accelerate and feel your hands come ungripped from vs. having your head slam backwards and struggle to breath/lean forward in a powerful car. As an automotive/motorcycle enthusiast I thoroughly enjoy both.

@ajluv600 what are you talking about? I've seen some cars beat hayabusas, bikes do NOT always win in a straight, and bikes do not always lose in cornering. it takes an exceptional driver to take advantage of what advantages a car has in cornering. That's why your average drivers have to pull over to let bikes by on mountain roads.

Let's talk price. According to Suzuki website MSRP for the 2009 GSXR100 is $12,899(UNITED STATES DOLLARS!!!!). I was talking about brand new average bike not a Sale Deal you get online or anywhere cheap discount store. 8-10 grand is consider a deal for a 1000cc & probably a normal price for a 750cc. The U.S. dollar is the currency most used in international transactions. Several countries use it as their official currency, and in many others it is the de facto currency. Robbie is from Australia.

@CompTech323 You're arguing a different point... All I said is that there are many Supras that can beat a 1000cc bike. I wasn't speaking of the majority of them, and I'm well aware that those Supras than can need to have 700+rwhp to do so.

@Touchfair Actually i've seen a lot of races where the bike hits aboutt 180mph and the car pulls around him. Bikes are aerodynamic, but not as much as a Supra at high speed. The bike actually wants to lift a little instead of squat.

I asked this question because although my stock ZX10R dynos at about 162hp, it's amazing to me how many people on RU-vid talk about 200hp liter bikes right out of the showroom, when that simply isn't true. Basically, I was trying to catch him in a lie. :)

You can have as much power in a supra as you want but it's quite unlikely it can put that all power to the road. And the bike's power to weight is usually better (not necessarily in this case) but then again it can use most of its HP unlike a 1000hp Supra.

I know you don't want to hear it, but even a 600cc is big for beginners. I was asking my friend who raced dirt bikes and has a CBR if I could get an r1 starting off, and he said hell no, even 600 is too much. he recommended a 250cc, which was really disappointing. but if you think about it, at first, if you mess up and pop the clutch accidently on a 1000cc, you can actually die, it's not about how careful you are. i know how you feel, i think the same, but it's better to get your bearings first

BS. My first bike was (and still is) a 1203 Buell cyclone with more torque than most street bikes out there. Just because the engine is massive doesn't make it a bad first bike. I had NEVER ridden a bike before and was on the freeway in Houston in a week. It's all about personal skill and confidence. Got a friend that won't even touch a 600, just because he doesn't feel confident enough. And there's nothing wrong with that. Get what feels good and ride responsibly.

Don't get me wrong, Ducati makes one of the finest vehicles on the planet. And one day, I'd love to trade in my Gixxer for a Ducati. But you need to get your facts straight. Ducati wasn't even founded until 1926 and didn't start its bike production until 1950. Suzuki got into the game in '52, with Yamaha and Honda following suit in '58. Check out a show called "Twist the Throttle" on HDNet. They cover the histories of all the big bike companies. Fun Fact: Ducati originally made radios.

@FocusRS1991 I'd hardly call Tiff Needell an "amateur." He has tens of thousands of miles behind the wheel of a car and he also made an appearance in F1 in the 80's. It didn't last long but just to race with them is an accomplishment. Your point is still moot because the atom still costs more than TEN times as much as the BMW does. Listen, I love cars more than bikes, they're more practical, but saying that cars are faster than bikes is silly. Once the car is quicker, it'll hardly be a car.

Most STOCK cars (so I'm excluding 800hp M3's, 600hp Sti's/Evo's, John Hennesey Vipers, etc) and saying a STOCK Murcielago, a STOCK, Supra, a STOCK most cars will lose to a bike in a straight line. I do however agree that most people (myself included) cannot exploit even 6 tenths of what a high powered car or bike can offer.
