it doesnt come out til the end of next year so we got a while before we learn more.

It is it's own thing and it's just a little something for us to chew on. The manga currently has about 3 arcs morro, granola, and pre superhero and current superhero. Continuing super would be tuff to do rn since it's not much content like how super was 131 and some being filler and not manga content. So I think 2026 super returns with 4 arcs possibly 5 but a bit much. And next movie 2027 or 28 ( toriyama confirmed working on next movie script in interview about superhero)

If you're naturally stronger than someone else, but you're both doing the same training then the weaker one will catch up to that natural difference, but probably not surpass since Goku wouldn't have been slacking off either. So imo in Dragon Ball Krillin being quite a bit weaker at first and then almost catching up makes complete sense even in hindsight knowing that Goku was a Saiyan. Goku could have probably handled more or tougher training excersizes to get stronger faster than Krillin, but since he didn't do that they should be about the same strength, and they were. In fact, the humans did almost catch up to base form Saiyans when you look at the Saiyan and Namek Sagas. Given enough time of just training and no zenkais, kaioken, or transformations, the humans were consistently behind but not completely outmatched even in DBZ. Like, the Saiyans would get a huge boost during the arcs from zenkais and transformations (I think unlocking a new SSJ also made Goku's base stronger), but then the humans would catch up during the training in between arcs, only to get outmatched again by new transformations. To give examples, Krillin was the weakest fighter agianst Frieza but he was still useful in the fight at first. If he was completely outmatched, then there would be no point in having him there at all. He wasn't completely useless until Goku showed up using kaioken and then super saiyan. tl;dr if we only look at training results, and we ignore zenkais, transformations, etc, the humans could almost catch up to the saiyans base strength using the same training. It's the transformations that really made them useless. So Krillin becoming almost as strong as Goku in DB for the first budokai made sense because they both had the same training from Roshi.

Also let's be honest. Turning them into kids or making them like it yet again will give the children of today the chance of experience it the way we did 40 or 25 years ago and turn them into new fans if possible and inspire them as well. That was always his plan. He could make it a new series with the young ones of each family for sure, with Goten, Trunks, Pan, Bulla, Marron and others for the kids of today growing up, but he knows we love the ogs.

Just when Goten and Trunks finally got to grow up Toriyama said "Nah" Alright Toriyama we're gonna trust you on this 😬

The strong rumour is that after Daima is finished broacasting/releases, they'll continue Super following the manga. Maybe it's a buffer to work on the anime production or let the manga have more stories to make.

To be honest Toriyama doing this with at most he can and putting more effort than previous, Toei aswell spending alot for this with great animators and staff directors for this project. Well this isnt actually a cashcow project as most people are already hating it and isnt going to spend probably but Toriyama and co doing what they wanted basically, They earned alot from DBZ,Dbs already

All the good animators are here except Shida. Whatever happens it is going to look amazing at least the first 15 epidodes. I'm not a big fan of the kid stuff but I think the other stuff is pretty interesting. Its exciting for us all to react to it at once Gohan/Videl is the only ones we don't see as a kid I think

Daima means evil in English. Many people think it will be a Canon GT, but I don't think so. Goku and Supreme Kai will be the main characters of this series.

From my understanding, this new series is a passion project for Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon ball. Unlike Dragonball Super and every other Dragonball based anime, he's more involved in Dragonball Daima to the point that he was tasked with looking over scripts for the show for his approval. Whereas with Super, he gave them manuscripts and ideas, but it was the animation studios job to make it happen with him having almost no involvement in them. Therefore, I'm fairly sure this is going to be canon if he's that heavily involved in the show. As far as I know, Dragonball Super is going to continue, as I believe it was mentioned that the plan is that they'll something related to dragonball every year starting on 2024 onward. Plus, there's too much money to be made for them to not adapt the following super arcs into anime form.

The problem with GT and Goku being a child was that he was still the most powerful character. Everyone being children means other characters may actually be able to do stuff. They also had no real plans of what to do in GT and Toriyama wasn't involved beyond creating some character designs. Now they have him at the helm and giving them a full story.

I'll give it a shot

"Magic" is the development codename of Daima and they finalized the Daima name literally days before they announced it. The reason they're saying it's a new story is probably because Super continued in the manga so they want to make it clear it's not related to that. It's an original story from Toriyama himself. I heard it either takes place before Battle of Gods or after Super. Super also wasn't made with that much creative input from Toriyama whereas this show has a lot of his input so there should be an improvement in the story quality. I also would not compare this to GT at all. It's not meant to be a GT redo. Besides Goku being a kid and having to travel to another world to undo the magic or whatever, the similarities to GT ends there. This is looking to be a fresh adventure following Goku and Supreme Kai with Goku taking up his power pole again to make up for his lost height so I'm assuming the action is going to be more interesting and the story isn't going to lead to a new power up or something. I'm pretty hyped for a new adventure story in Dragon Ball rather than more mindless action.

@Animelon Like you said Dragon Ball Magic/Daima. They showed us Babidi from Majin Buu saga and they started with a Kai and someone else seeing all the events that happened that probably decided to turn them all young/weak with the dragon balls. So with that said this takes place after Broly/Super Hero and it's not like a GT thing or back to before Z. It's pretty obvious that it happens after Super, but what's their plan? I don't know. Why is this happening or the reason for it? I also don't know, but it has to do with someone connected to Babidi for sure since they showed him and a Kai, maybe another kind of God planning something bad. We will have to wait and see.

It does make sense that Goku and krillin were near the strength as kids because despite how powerful Goku is later he was supposed to be a low class warrior. The only reason he's not weak it's because of the extensive non-stop training he's gotten over the years. For example Vegeta have been equal or right under Goku's strength throughout the years despite not having the specialized training Goku have received. Vegeta is a high-class warrior who has more potential than Goku. As for the new show itself it's just a feeling from blanks because it takes place in between super and Gt. It's just a setup prequel series for toriyama's version of GT in which he have to apply the new power scaling into the show. My theory is there not able to tap into God ki or certain transformations in their small body which makes the story more interesting.

Tbh I think they did that so that Akira Toriyama makes something that he likes to then continue on making super. For now we only have 2 sagas on the manga and super super hero (which I don't think they'll adapt it to the anime) so we have so little content for super 2 so I would imagine that we'll have to wait more (i don't think that they'll do the same as dragon ball super releasing the anime and pass the manga so they end up being inconsistent with some of the decisions of Toriyama's manga)

For a franchise that's trying real hard to convince you GT never happened, they sure keep pulling a lot of GT moments. First a fusion ends early cause "too much power", now everyone's a kid again. Wonder if the new from (cause of course there's gonna be at least one) is gonna look like it's returning to monke.

(This is spoilers for dragon ball super anime, dragon ball super movies, and dragonball GT) I'm give you some perspective about dragon ball super and dragonball daima/magic and how the status is compared to dragonball z and dragonball GT. Yes dragon ball super is insanely popular without a question but, and there is a big but. Dragon ball super is also the most controversial anime, because the dragon ball super anime started without any manga material so essentially the dragon ball super anime is the original source material, no anime has ever produced first before the manga. So that means there is no sense of direction or guide for the writers of the anime,the results of producing dragon ball super that way. The consequences or flaws was contradiction to plots, contradiction to the original dragonball manga, and contradictions to the narrative in every single dragon ball super arc, i can break down the contradictions that left fans upset with dragon ball super because those contradiction create plot holes in the original dragonball manga and the original dragonball anime. Im gone list a few examples of contradiction/plot holes. Mai being surprisingly young in the future timeline in the goku black arc, how is she young where the dragonballs stop existing in that timeline!? The Potara fusion has an hour time limit in the goku black arc, how when in the Majin buu saga vegito fought, taunt, procrastinate, and mock super buu!? Akira toriyama emphasize that the potara fusion was permanent and demonstrated it was legit because of vegito actions that purposely procrastinate super buu, it was only then when vegito was inside buu that he put up an energy barrier to prevent himself from getting absorbed as soon as vegeta let his barrier down it immediately separate the fusion and then goku comment it because they are exposed to buu's body without any coating made them defuse. This is a ridiculous bad one and it's from the tournament of power, Throughout the whole tournament of power we witnessed multiple characters completely drained and out of energy and stamina but minutes later they abruptly back to full power and overpowering competitors that should have more energy and stamina than the opponents that is still recovering. There is also issues with characters abruptly acquired transformation in the tournament of power that we know our heroes struggled to achieve but the other universes make transformations effortlessly and not deserved or not well earned. This is the last contradiction im going to bring up and it's even ridiculous worst one that personally left a bad taste in my mouth that probably will make me stop being a dragon ball fan if they don't stop bringing this up or bring it up one more time, there on strike two with. Three strikes and you're out like a game of baseball! This is a contradiction, dragon ball super broly during the beginning film. Bardock involvement in the dragon ball super broly movie is the most controversial topic in the world of dragon ball, to be quite frankly dragon ball super version of bardock is the complete opposite of dragonball z version of bardock, and bardock in dragonball z is a fan favorite and one of the most beloved anime characters because that character was authentic! A small majority likes reboot bardock because the actions of reboot bardock did in the dragon ball super broly contradicts the dragon ball manga. Reboot bardock stole a saiyan space pod and manually sent his son kakarot to the planet earth out of concerned for his safety, three things thats wrong with that one action and implications. 1: how does bardock know that frieza was gone endanger his son safety and the saiyans safety without his famously signature abilities psychic powers but instea bardock just had abruptly a bad feeling!? 2: Raditz told goku in the saiyan he was sent to earth, emphasize that he was sent to earth to annihilate the planet population because kakarot was a low class warrior. 3: Bardock abruptly abandoned his saiyan heritage and saiyan stereotype by being a concerned and loving father when it was emphasize by king kai in the saiyan saga that saiyans had a violent ruthless nature so reboot bardock being the only odd one out doesn't make sense because the saiyans are a product of their environment and kakarot was acting like a traditional saiyan before he hit his head and became a loving care child. You can go back to the original material and it contradicts dragon ball super broly version of bardock. I'll say it again dragon ball super is famous but it's also infamous to thses bad decisions that contradicts the original source material, and i know im skipping alot but if i were to list everything, I'll be here for days talking about it. But dragonball, dragonball Z, and dragonball GT don't contradicts themselves as bad as dragon ball super does, as least when dragonball z and gt contradicts themselves they are hurting their own self-contained series, their consequences doesn't effect other series unlike dragon ball super. And that why majority of the Fandom still loves dragonball Z over dragon ball super, so since the dragonball is well beloved and well constructed narrative than dragon ball super. Dragon ball daima/ magic has the potential to be well constructed narratively so gives fans like myself hope and have faith that we can have a dragonball series that don't contradicts its own narrative because there is absolutely nothing worst than contradiction and plot holes, I'll take horrible animation over contradiction any day and i say that with conviction, i truly can't stand a bad narrative or contradictions. So dragonball daima/magic is nostalgia to original dragonball series when the series was overall a well constructed anime.

I believe toriyama made this step to suppress goku's power scaling because he wannit to create a more balance world adventure story something he created back in the days where it wasnt all about powerful beam and mindless screaming but more about the adventure goku went and learn the life lessons along the way

It's a side story and it's nothing like GT. The creators created the Dragon room to make side stories, movies, and video games. We will still get DBS Moro arc just we just have to wait for it. From what im getting out of all of it from the trailer and what RU-vidrs like Geekdom 101 and others are talking about is that a demon turn them into kids and the only way to become adults again Goku and the Supreme Kai have to travel to different worlds fighting new villains, making new friends and find the demon that changed them into kids, kill him to reverse the spell. They probably won't be kids the whole series but it's all new so nobody knows. Also the main villain might have some connections with Bibbity Bobbity Buu or the demon King Dabra because in the beginning of the trailer I believe that's the demon realm.

Goku had a very low power level at birth compared to other Saiyans and thats why an exceptional Earthling like Krillin could compete with him. IMO Goku was always stronger than Krillin though.

They are continuing the Manga just gotta wait for it still. they want the younger generations to like dragonball as well so they can make it more popular. And no, it's not like GT because that was trash. I don't care for it. That's my opinion. But yes, DBZ Super 2 is still coming out.

Its emphasized it's a new story never before told because this is not GT and it is not from the Super manga. I think people forget that Toriyama's passion was first comedy. Shounen Jump is the ones that pushed for the more serious lame tone of Z. Personally I love that Toriyama is going back to comedy. And not continuing the trash that was what Super became just like Z.
