It's called a mulcher and it' designed to....well... mulch tree and brush . as you saw it pulverized the wood into chips , it's highly used for oil and gas exploration or cleaning road side of tree and brush .
Reading all these negative comments about a machine you folks obviously know nothing about.. It's a Forestry Mulcher and it's doing exactly what it is designed to do. It feels trees and then, when they're down, it grinds them into mulch..... These machines, when operated by an experienced person can mulch an acre of trees in a little over an hour....
I just seen 2 tables, 6 chairs, a work bench, a shaving mule, and several carvings and other projects just hit the ground... Useable in about 3 years time after quartering....
If it falls backwards nothing should happen they usually have a falling objects structure they will take a tree falling on them. I have had it happen in my log skidder a few times doesn't hurt them
That is one fancy chain saw, I could really use it to clean up about 10 ac ers of brush AN trees . If they want to have another tester I will glad to try it,
it's a forestry brush hog. I forgot exact name. my other company rent one before for large property. and yes if used properly u can fell trees with no problem but rather fell them first at least large ones and then grind them while on floor. thing shreds.everything
The rest of the root/stump is still groundlevel. So stay away, a chainsaw and a cup of coffe for a fraction of the cost. Why did they cut that tree anuway?
@geterdonewiest I could have had a cable up in that tree in 20 minutes (Thats on the Long side) with a big shot and arbor line, then pull a rope, then said cable. NO PROBLEM. looked reall dangerous for that big of tree, something tells me thats not exactly what that machine was made for...
Fast, safe and efficient?! And in places where there is no space to maneuver, and if the terrain does not allow the use of the machine? With my chain saw Husqvarna i just need 20 seconds (faster), using the head Properly can be (safer) and using much less fuel / emissions to do the same job (efficiency);) My opinion :)
Only real muscle work that man used was twiddling his thumbs and tapping his feet. More efficient, I don't know. Concidering this is probaly meant for large scale job's, I would say he was being more effective with his effort that cost. Admit it, If you had one of these you would fell a tree with the GT-25 XP and not even think about the chain saw till it came time to cut the limbs. I know I would
They make bigger machines of this type in France, they are also made in China, Africa, Finland and other countries...but I know the US is probably your favorite dart board so ...have at it ....
how is this fast? a chainsaw would do it in about 45 sec.. how is this safe? what if the tree fell towards you and on the machine???... and efficient, i think not. you prob burned a gallon of gas doing that one tree. in turn a chainsaw would burn an OZ of fuel..
