I enjoy this new dad or bro approach Ben! I laughed more than I probably should have during this video. I can tell you are having fun and not taking things too serious, which is what makes the best content!
Grant Taylor’s the raddest dad out! Just finished skating a pair of GT’s myself and they were by far the best feeling shoes I’ve ever had. However I’m a chronic ankle roller and sprained my ankle 3 times while I had these so I think I’ve got to stick with the blazer mids for that extra bit of ankle support and protection
Ben don't even worry about doing serious reviews, I don't blame you for being tired of it. This was really good, funny and still very informative. If you ever feel like doing more reviews just have fun with it we all wanna know what else is dad or bro. Also I'd love to see more collabs with Gifted Hater, you guys make sick videos together
This is too much! I like how you're cracking up in the early part and then somehow say rad dad and sweatpants dad with a straight face. Dad vs Bro is really just a super creative pro and con list in the end
Yeah Ben! So how did you get to take over that tennis court? So cool, a bank ramp butting up to the mini ramp will get it flowing good. Have you tried those Kyle Walkers, they might be different.
100% agree with you here. Those grey blazer lows before they made them all GT were my favorite shoes in the past ten years probably. They were the same ones that Nyjah was wearing consistently before his pro model came out. I didn't really see many other pros skating them. The GTs afterwards were slimmed down a bit I think and the suede felt thinner too. Still my favorite Nikes to skate along with the Blazer Mids.
I miss your stuff reviewing contents a lot LOL I know that you love what you skate and would never be changing some random stuff on your setups but bro.. if you have some rad stuff about sk8boarding or whatever you thing it’s nice to share to ppl like us, please….. Hope to see for more your vids 🙏🏻🍾 much love from 🇹🇭
This video was all over the place, loved it! As for GT pros, I can’t wear them for the same reason you love them, they are pretty pointy and narrow and I got a wide foot, they would just kill my feet.
Hey Ben, glad to see you're doing well. I didn't know where else to message you so I figured I'd ask you my question on here. I stripped down a 18' x 8' trailer and I wanted to build a mini pipe onto it that has a 2.5' transition with a 5.5' radius. I was wondering how you would go about doing this? Maybe you could make a video about it or just your thoughts. No biggs though, love your vids. Thanks man
hey ben, wish i could take your recommendations but i think my feet are way wider than yours, tried the lakai manchesters and i broke where you lace the shoes. Ive been skating the vans rowans for the last 2 years and they last me about 3-4 months. the sole wears out before the side of the shoes or flicking area even gets holes, wish they would make the top of the rowan shoe with a better sole that doesnt wear out so fast
It's almost like you listened to me in the last video. I asked if dad or bro was going to be a series and you have delivered to the fans. Best wishes from Vancouver Island
How do you feel about slip ons? I switched to Nike SB slip ons and have really enjoyed them. I have that same issue with Vans, my feet just don't fit well.
I tried skating in my blazer mids and it was the worst. I want to try a vulcanized shoe but my legs seem to get tired quicker. Currently skating in the Adidas Busenitz.
@@bakedbeings I have pretty wide foot and they feel fine when you lace them looser from bottom to top. Also they have lace hoops inside on the first three holes
These were such a strange shoe for me. Took months to break in and have me the most painful feet and blisters but then they were indestructible after that and skated really well. Didn't get any ollie holes even though I usually do
I love blazers, but I get a ollie hole in them within a few sessions... So far the NB Jamie Foys have been good to me, and they have a rubber shield going around the whole shoe, pretty much
@@jouhajohnny Yup. Same problem. I'm notorious for getting ollie holes. Blazer mids lasted a whole lot longer then the lows, but thats most likly duo to it not making me flex my ancle as much. And therefore not wear at the typical place.
NB skate shoes are pretty solid aren’t they? I’ve been using the Jamie Foys as well but im thinking about trying the 1010 Tiagos this coming week. Hope they’re just as good if not better.
@@OleMisss I tried the 1010's on, and even in a size that was too snug, I got heelslip. So dont they work for my foot shape, unfortunately. Got mediumish feet with narrow heel area
Big fan of the og Blazer Lows. Would be curious to hear your opinion on the first Eric Koston pro model from Nike if you have tried them. If not, you should try to get your hands on a pair, favorite skate shoe of all time. I still buy them when I can find a pair on Ebay, since they havent been discontinued that long new-old stock isn't hard to find or exspensive. That crook at the end was so sick!
I guess I'm a dad now. After skating 3 pairs of es swift 1.5, I wanted to try something else and I think you made me buy these. I remember I enjoyed an OG bruins back in the day so I think Blazers GT will be fine as well.
Now I can’t resist anymore. I‘ve been thinking of buying a pair since 2 months. I like Nike as a casual shoe but never skated a pair. While I have 4 pairs of SB Dunks but just for normal wear. Love the look of the Blazer and when you say they are that good and your favorite, I need a pair but I will go for the Black/White ones. Usually I stay away from vulcanized shoes and prefer Cupsoles.
100 dollars for a shoe is kinda on the expensive side imo. Btw when you mentioned that these shoes were super durable, were you talking about the leather or suede version? Thanks
SB Blazers, low and mid, are $80-$85 USD. Remember, Ben said CAD for prices. Premium versions of SB Blazers usually cost around $105 +/- $10. Edit: I think the only pairs reviewed on the channel have been suede. The Orange Label white leather joints looked out of the box fresh.
I skated the blazer mids as my last shoe. I thought I didn't like it. Copped these e's accel explorers and the difference is night and day. Blazers are actually pretty good
Here's me watching this video about skate shoes to see if GT Pro Blazers fit the same as Blazer Mids, thinking "Why is he so familiar?" Yep. He taught me how to plaster my walls. When i was doing DIY, @Vancouver Carpenter was by far the best How To for plastering! That's an extra DAD point.
so funny. I loved this video. I thought as soon as you explained the DAD v BRO board that it was AWESOMELY silly and was excited about that- then watching you laugh and lose it over how silly it was confirmed we were on the same page. Rad original content as always. keep shredding 🤘🏼🛹
I broke my ankle in blazers and they kind of gave me ptsd but at the same time, NO other shoe can heel flip like that. Use Sb dunks for kickflippy variantions and blazers for heelflip variations and you saving yourself some time while filming lol.
Hey Ben. I have wide feet, like Flintstone feet. My skate shoe choices are limited, to say the least. Do you know any experienced skaters with wide feet and what they wear? Please advise if you see this? Thank you sir. Hello from Chicago!
@@chrisXjosi There's more to it. I'm just not interested. But trust me I get it. You've watched some of my past videos and you're interest in product is piqued. I was there too a few years ago. But after riding a whole bunch of different stuff and messing with my setup for over 4 years I'm just done with it. I know what I like and I'm not changing it and my curiosity about new or different products just isn't there. Sorry to disappoint but I'm not revisiting that part of my creative past.
@@bendegros thank you so much for your reply, i appreciate that you took the time to respond. You already said this in your past videos and i understand it. Iam having 16 different trucks and iam testing all out and iam coming always back to Indy Titanium with the standard baseplate, not the forged. I dont want to give up and test out, its so boring to skate indys and spitfire, because everyone skate with it.
Yeah I love GT blazers (and blazers in general) bought the white sude with gum soles from my local shop and skated them right out the box. I think they skate pretty well without being worn in first (suede version) and agree with your comment on the heelflips, did one first try in them on the hip 😊
