That plate to mount all the stuff above your pedals is actually a genius idea. I might have to do the same thing, currently its all just a mess on the floor next to it lol.

Thanks. I got the idea from a comment on the Karl Gosling video. Someone said, instead of using the cross braces like Karl has, to just use a wider piece and you could get the same rigidity as a cross brace. Made me think why not just have a plate and then I could mount anything I wanted to it so my whole rig was self contained. Now I only have two cords coming off it. Maybe in another month or two I’ll make a more long term focused video.

Getting mine today, its great seeing your premium stuff on this rig. I pulled trigger, I do not need expensive cockpit, I am incredibly fast in 1 year in a clapped out wooden full flex cockpit. I bought a used seat cheap off someone when I started and didnt realize its a gt omega, so it will go perfect. I see extra rigid DIYs here too. great review man, thanks cant wait to build it tomorrow and try it out!

That’s exciting, putting it together is extremely simple so you’ll be up and running in no time. If you’re adding higher end components like load cell brakes and a direct drive wheel check out the video I linked about how to remove the flex. I’ll go over my whole cockpit and give a long term review in the next month or so. I have a couple last bit things coming for it first.

I have an amazing girlfriend who lets me keep it in the living room. Our house is only 900 square feet so if I don’t leave it in the living room there not much more space for it haha

Nice setup mate. I have similar cockpit. Next version up, called gt omega Titan. While there is problems with it, I still really enjoy sitting in it and racing. I only have g29 right now and while I do love it, I need to upgrade to Fanatec direct drive and better pedals. If I’ve saved enough, I’ll treat myself, around Christmas, that’s if fanatec have what I want, in stock. I’m totally fine to wait till end of year, for upgrade but I will be very unhappy, if everything I want, is sold out. I won’t mind too much to do pre order but yeh, I just pray that coke Christmas, I have enough cash and they have what I want. I almost feel selfish, wanting to upgrade. Simply because I still have incredible fun on my g29 and there are some people that can’t even afford that. Be it kids with low income parents or adults that are just on low income. I’m on a low income, myself but for instance, if I have £800 by end of the year, my dad is the type to lend the rest or even just pay the rest, out of His pocket. Anyway, really nice setup. I hope your very happy with it. 👍

Thanks for the watching. The Titan is a great seat that can definitely handle A DD wheel and load cell pedals. I also started with the G29, its a good wheel and there are some really fast people using them still. Keep your options open for when you upgrade. A year ago the DD wheel market wasn't as big as it is now. In the short time I've been sim racing the market has expanded a ton. It almost feels like a new product is coming out everyday. There's a good chance that by December you might have a couple more options. Good luck with everything

@@backmarker_steve2600 I’m on Ps5 so I guess my options are somewhat limited? I’m kinda ok with that. Easier to decide what to buy. I actually have around 2 or 3 regular wheels, and about 3 F1 wheels, from Fanatic, that I want to buy but most is sold out. Do you know if they always restock , previously sold out items? I just don’t want to have the money, finally and they still don’t stock what I want. Oh, do you know if it’s possible to connect my Logitech g29 pedals, to a Fanatec wheel base? If so, I would rather buy 2 wheels and direct drive wheel base, to start and plug my g29 pedals in and in following months, buy Fanatec load cell pedal.

A couple things from Fanatec are on back order which would mean they are still manufacturing the item and will ship the next available one to you. From what I’ve seen, with not only Fanatec but other items in the sim racing market, is they can only produce items so fast. Back order is the main reason I bought everything I did, no waiting. As far as I know it is not possible to connect your g29 pedals to the wheel base but you should google that. Even on PC you would have to connect the pedals to the g29 wheelbase, and connect all of that just to use the pedals since they don’t have a usb cord of their own

You should have gotten the rs6 seat. I’m 5’11” 220 and I think the it fits me perfect with the bolsters.

Correct. I read reviews that bigger people like the RS9 seat better. I’m not skinny but I’m average build and I think the RS6 would have been perfect. RS9 is still a sold choice and is roomy and since I don’t have a motion rig yet I don’t need it to fit me like a glove

I got the gt omega Titan cockpit and I got the Rs6 seat. I got it because I’m not very tall, 5ft6, I’m slim and I just liked this seat better. The black and red, go really well. I think if someone has big build, the Rs6 isn’t the best choice. Saying that, big people may fit in the seat, just fine.

Hi great video, I have a gt omega sim rig purchased about 7 to 8 years ago recently i have found that i am getting a lot of back lower pain this is due to the position of my pedals and footplate you can basically only have it in one position and where my feet go onto the pedals it kinda pulls on my lower back its like theres no support from where my legs leave the seat and i find all the weight of my legs bear down onto the heels of my feet as the pedals are set too high . I havent been able to use my simrig since last may due to my back. Because i have hundreds of pounds invested into my sim racing i have been looking for a solution?? I am only 5ft 6" and weigh 67 kilos and with the pedal plate adjustments on the Art Cock pit may be the answer as i could lower the pedal plate down so my legs go down from the seat to my pedals (which are thrustmaster load cell ) hence hopefully wont pull on my back , my only worry is with the pedal plate down will i be able to reach the pedals ?? and if you have the seat too far forward will the wheel be too close to my chest ? Would you be able to tell me what the distance is from your foot on the pedals up to the front edge of the seat ? look forward to hearing from you and thankyou in advance !!

Can you move the seat forward and backward or maybe move the plate with the pedals? Im pretty short so might have a problem reaching the pedals otherwise

Yes. It is extremely adjustable. There’s movement in the seat, pedal plate and steering wheel base platform. I’m 5’6” and like driving with slightly bent knees and fits me well. The only thing that isn’t super adjustable is the wheel platform. It’s on a fixed angle so if you want it further away from you it also lowers it. I can’t get my wheel exactly far enough away from me where I want it without it being too low. Everything else is almost infinitely adjustable though.

Nice set-up, thanks for sharing. I just ordered my GT Omega ART today, and I have the same pedals (DCSimracing DC-1). What did you have to do In order to adapt the pedals to the ART pedal board?

I have a used deal on this exact model with the monitor stand for 320€ and was worried about my clubsport pedals but after this I think it will be fine. Im also on the larger side, im 6" 250ish lbs and really broad shoulders I think the rs9 will fit me nicely though

Awesome. The RS9 seat should fit you well. After more use I’ve started liking it more. There’s very little flex in my pedal deck and I have pedals with a 100kg load cell

This cockpit is extremely adjustable so any seat should be able to be modified to fit

Do you know and/or think this would work with the Fanatec DD 8nm? I am about to purchase the ART and was hoping I could upgrade to the Fanatec DD 8nm while at it!

Strength wise yes it will absolutely. I turn my 20nm wheel base all the way up for friends who come over and there’s minimal flex in the wheel area. I believe the Fanatec wheel bases all use similar mounting pattern so it should fit it. You could always drill new holes or even contact GT Omega and ask if their hole pattern lines up with the DD 8nm base

RS6 is a little more narrow than the RS9. Karl Gosling has a great video where he sits in both and takes measurements. I'm pretty sure the dimensions for each seat are on the GT Omega website as well. The RS9 seat I have has about 400+ hours in it with nearly no signs or use and is still firm and supportive. Really good build quality.

Correct. I have it on 8 caster wheels and it is very stable. Very minor flex in the wheel base platform up and down but not really noticeable and I have a 20nm direct drive wheel. There is a way to reinforce it but I personally don't need it

The wheelbase is a VRS direct force pro which has a peak output of 20nm. I usually run it at 8-11nm and did not notice any lateral movement. There was some vertical flex that you can notice but I don’t think it would be enough to effect lap times or your sense of immersion
