Here's JC's take on how to get the best out of your GT stickbait, including all the variables you don't hear much about including the wind, current and elevated platforms... and what about the right rod to use? it's masterclass time!
Some great info there mate thanks for that it definitely comes in handy for us people that have not had the luck to get onto a GT yet thanks again Johno keep the tutorials coming bro 🤙🤙
Agreed Hooks play an important part on how your bait preforms in water. Conditions variable . Single hooks on back of my sinking swims gives more action when conditions are perfect.
Yep i could ask a million questions but just appreciate your thoughts and I've been putting things into practice and trying different techniques! Besides everything else it's just fun!
Good one JC ! Stick baiting is really addictive and its awesome when you see the rhythm kicking in after thousands of not so good retrieves . You have covered it so nicely that it's now easier for anyone trying to do a good job ....won't have to go thru the boat time figuring out the basics ! Awesome !
@@ebbtidetackle I'm heading down for a week 4 full days of fishing. Looking for wahoo, rooster, Jack's hopefully GT, Cabrera Snapper dorado. Want to bring tackle that will help our odds of catching gosh of a life time.
Awesome teaching John really appreciated! Is there any chance one of you guys can do a similar series for Kings? I'm sure there's some overlap but there are probably a lot of adjustments made for kingies, action differences etc etc. Thanks heaps!
Thanks man glad you like the channel. All Jack's have the same attitude, I would just down scale the gear and lures to suit the size of the Crevalle and go from there.
Brilliant video John . If your going to fish mainly reef flats with soft plastics and stickbaits ,let's say with mostly a pe4 set up , would a Stickbait rod be suitable for small Poppers ? Thanks for your feedback mate
I find with our shoal kingfish that the pause on stickbait can be very short. They seem to want a fast presentation as the shoal is always bloody moving. I've been reluctant to show them a slow presentation. But I've been mixing up a mechanical jig style with short sweep on slow sink stickbait and they riding just under the surface like floater. Also when I'm standing a bit higher I found sinking bait is better. I think with retrieves you need to find what they want on the day? I prefer a 9.6 to 10 foot rod for shoregame for a few reasons. Did you use short rods in Oman for shore Gt?
