Jimmy Johnson.......the 1974, Gone in 60 seconds had 93 cars destroyed in a 40 min. car chase scene. There were 5 Eleanors. Scene where Eleanor hits a light pole at 100 mph, was a real accident, and driver injured. Scene kept in the movie. Production stopped for a few days until he recovered. There were several other real accidents kept in the movie. Thank you for asking. No CGI in this movie. $150, 000 budget. Grossed $40 million. Glad you enjoyed!
@Soulintent26 nice thing about the size and weight disbursement on mustangs, very controllable.thats what made them street winners in average driver cars
The new Gone in 60 Seconds called a 67 Shelby by the Eleanor name and every main stream idiot now calls it that... The original and only REAL Eleanor is a 73 Mustang. Never forget.
But the newer Gone in 60 Seconds used a superior Mustang. I'd put a piss fueled go-cart built by Carroll Shelby up against a Mach 1 and win. You can't beat the man. Saleen only made a faster Mustang because Shelby died.
@BruceLeeKills1 The tire that's closest to the center of a donut. It doesn't have as much pressure, weigh shift, on it as the outside tire so all the power goes to it when you're doing a donut with an open differential. Thus only spinning the inside tire only, the tire with least resistance.
@MrCaddiman they did make another gone in 60 seconds. it had nicholas cage in it. they used both models as the "eleanor" mustang. the original was a 71 or 72 mach 1. this is like a 67 or 68. im not quite sure. just a little tip, hopefully this helps
@TheTOGASS The original Gone in 60 Seconds was a yellow '71 Mach 1 and the newer Cage movie had a customized '68 Shelby GT500 which had a 428 Super Cobra Jet engine (I like the newer version movie and car better)! I've always been a big fan of the '66 Shelby GT350 and '68 Shelby GT500!
it's not bored out to a 408, it's stroked. over-sizing the bores gives you bugger-all increase in capacity, especially in a standard block. stroking is changing the crank (& rods) to a longer throw unit, increasing the stroke... big gain in cubic capacity & heaps of low end torque
Eleanor was a 1973 Mustang mach 1! IT EARNED ITS NAME AND RESPECT!!!!!!!! AND WHATS WRONG WITH A ORIGINAL 67 SHELBY GT, IT DOESNT NEED ALL THAT BULLSHIT!!!!
Its out of time a tad. You can hear every time it idles down and the drive reves the engine back up it gets a load knock - Caused form a lean fuel set up and the timing being to far advanced. You can hear it around 35secs - and - 57secs. Also could be cause from low octane fuel.
Well... since you are basing everything you know off of the most recent movie, you think it's only been grey and black. The 1st Eleanor was yellow and it was a 1970 Mach 1 I believe. It doesn't only mean a '67 gt 500. Just a little FYI...
