7 years since I've driven here online, and that was back when I training with a racing driver who called himself GT_Prospect back in the Gran Turismo 6 days.
Even still, I have never driven a GR.3 car around here. I wasn't nervous at all. I knew that mistakes would be made. The goal was to finish in the top 9 or the top 10 without hurting someone else's race. The ladder almost happened to me in reverse, but the guy was able to scrub off enough speed not to cause any damage. He was struggling in the McLaren, and I was surprised, as the R8 is usually the car that struggles around here the most.
I had a terrible qualifying. got a penalty that hurts you on your previous AND final lap if you have to serve one, so that's easily 2 tenths, and then I messed it up going into the first hairpin, costing me another 2 tenths. This means that my net qualifying time would have put me in the 1:46.1's which is still pretty slow, but it would have had me starting in P4, as opposed to P8. It's probably better it happened that way, as I would spin the car out twice, both times getting it wrong in first gear. I have know idea why the R8's 1st gear is so ridiculously long, but it will hurt you every time it gets the chance to if you go wide.
I'm content with P10, though. I knew this wasn't going to be an easy race, so I'm not going to complain.
