Yeah you're right, there were tons of missions where the navigation was fucked up, like the objective would either be below or above where you were standing, and this just made the missions with timers even more difficult
@@sarvesh6929 The only gta Map I could memorize was Liberty city stories, like the whole map was unfinished anyways so there was less stuff to remember
You can usually get around the GTA 3 map much faster if you just head for the objective markers instead of following the route. That's how you learn all the shortcuts, too.
Yes, but it also make the game much less frustrating, especially when you want to paint your car or buy new weapons. The only good thing about this edition sadly.
I find it really stupid that after all this Claude just kills Maria. Like the big ending final boss mission was just to save her, then he decides to shoot her himself immediately after. lmao that's wack
I had all the hidden packages collected. I ran to the safe house in Shoreside Vale first and gathered everything. Made this entire thing so much easier
They dumbed down the NPCs AI , I remember in original the Columbian Cartels would kill u instantly the moment they see u and the m4 would explode any vehicle in second. I used tank to finish this mission
Exactly, cause in the original game it was just called csheli in the game files and was a cutscene only model. And it's still the same in the remaster even when they could've used the Vice City Maverick in place.
The game really had an amazing graphics optimization, but the game lost that classic haze which took that dark and funereal aura of the game that I loved
Two things I remember back in the PS2 version: 1) Pretty sure Catalina had some final dialogue as her chopper is going down. 2) Didn't Claude shoot Maria offscreen cause she was being annoying? The player may have skipped that part.
lazy? huh they fix the movement, driving, graphic, lighting, textures, background, fog, map, fonts, buildings windows, etc and here u saying they are lazy because they didnt "improve gun play" they dont want to change the whole game and animation. they just want to make it more modern not make a whole new game out of it.
@@cotho1549 The gun play is the worst part about the original game, even if they copy San Andreas gun play over i would be happy but seem like they really are lazy. Try pausing at 2:53, the lighting look like a bad mobile game, the texture seem like they just upscale the original and ran it through a sharpening filter. From what i saw in the video the running animation and car physics seem to be the same as the original. The only improvement seem to be the player and tree 3D model so yes, it is a lazy port and stop trying to defend it.
People are never satisfied here. No wonder I see comments of disappointment everywhere. FOR ONCE, Rockstar and Grove Street Games have improved their remastering ability. This definitive edition does have flaws, both major and minor, but it's a much better remaster than the tragedy of a PS3 remaster.
Bruh, this definitive edition was not about bringing old GTA games back to live or actually making a great remaster . This all was about money . I literally can install some mods from internet for gta3 and the game will look so much better than in definitive edition . The point is - you need to pay a full price for a shitty definitive edition . That’s probably why people were unsatisfied with that .
It felt kinda underwhelming tho, seeing how good the environments look only for the character models to not get as much love and I don't mean that they should've made them look more realistic, but tweaking the animations both in game and cutscenes so they don't just awkwardly flail their arms without doing anything with their hands, I mean they went to the trouble of adding actual fingers only to almost never move them, not to mention that they look a bit too cartoonish especially compared to their surroundings, they could have added more grot to the characters through textures but now everyone has very undefiled skin which makes them look like Sims characters, and the lighting during cutscenes can make things hard to look at. But other than that other quality of life improvements like adding features from San Andreas to the other games, they already changed the controls to be more like 5 so I don't see why not add a few other things.
@A Stand User they could had reworked the entire game with ease for example give Claude or whatever his name is a voice, improve the physics, add some extra weapons, improve graphics along with animation, improve sounds like firing a weapon or car sounds even feature something like multiplier all 3 games will benefit from it
Gta 3 was the first game i ever got on ps2, my stepdad took it from me cuz i was too young, i got a ps3 but never got to play or finish gta 3, i moved to peru and got a ps4... got gta 5 and finished it but never finished gta3.. and now.... it looks like its finally time
@@stanger8741 they still could've added stuff like that, I mean they changed the controls to be more modern so why not do other stuff too? And even the graphics part is kinda questionable, the lighting looks good, but I'm not crazy over the way they textured the locations, they look kinda weird
@@ginogatash4030 I can understand mate but that's good man I want the same stuff you said. But there's nothing all the old vibe with improved graphics cuz that's a remastered version but hey let's just appreciate there work and play the game. 💯🎮
Tldr; Not completely wrong for now, but when mod support starts blowing up then a “not so great” device might be able to run it. I mean yeah, but also there’s no sign of a mobile port yet. The best chance of getting it to work on mobile would be decompiling a PC build of the game using some sort of UE deconstruction tool since it seems like this version uses some form of Unreal Engine instead of renderware, which is what the original used. The hardware itself isn’t super relevant especially since you could probably disable features that can ruin performance on an entry level device like a phone. Another solution is just to take assets (ie: textures, models) and reducing them by lowering resolution (textures) and things like the decimate tool in blender (although that doesn’t work in some engines because of how blender works). The actual device or “high end” level doesn’t necessarily matter when modding support becomes more available and tools similar to what re3 did for the original.
With the time they had, they could’ve completely recreated this game with next gen graphics. Add some Easter eggs but this you guys are so excited they defined an old game after 8 years of GTAV 😂. Gamers let’s stop complaining about things if we’re going to keep shelling out money for any and everything. The consumer will buy anything at this point so why should developers do more? It’s supply and demand. Demand better quality and refuse anything less 🤷♂️. Nostalgic and all but meh
If they were going to create 3 old games with current gen graphics, they might as well create a new game. These games have their own charm because of the graphics and other things. Making them into something they aren't just kills the identity.
I personally thought the cartel cruisers were cool but also thought they was O.P. af like them joints was the face of vehicles yet spins out so easily 🤣😭 the handling reminded me of the diablo stallion fr which is also a classic with terrible handlin lol
for those who remember Maria was still speaking during the credits and she was saying how she broke a nail and all you hear was a gunshot Did claud kill Maria ?
Even after 20 years we don't know if Claude really did shoot Maria in the end. I know they ended the 3D universe with the beginning of GTA 4 but at least they could've hinted what happened with an Easter egg in later games.
It took more than 20 years to understand that gunshot is… just a sound glitch. Or a R* joke just as a sign that storyline completed. Rockstar said that Maria firstly has really long and annoying speech but some developer decided to end this speech. And put this gunshot effect. R* always like to give vague answers for these mysterious questions. Even they said “we don’t sure that he killed her”. They indirectly confirmed that they inserted the sound of a gunshot to cut down her speech. I repeat - indirectly. And shot sounds like a… blank. Either way we could hear pre death scream or sound of falling dead body. Or, and if you’ll destroy Catalina’s helicopter before grabbing Maria, you’ll see in statistics “wasted by you” that you killed 2 people: Catalina and the pilot. After final credits statistics in “wasted by Claude (you)” and “wasted by others”… didn’t change. Please, listen reporter’s speech in the final cutscene carefully. He said: a witness saw a single gunman leaved the Dam WITH a dark-haired woman. If Maria was killed reporter would not say anything about Maria. Instead of that there was an article in Liberty Tree newspaper about massacre on the Dam, and there were many dead bodies of Colombians, dead Catalina and helicopter pilot and they found a dead body of dark-haired woman in her dress with leopard strips. And she was recognised as Maria Latore, Salvatore Leone’s young widow. But reporter mentioned Maria which can mean that she is alive. I can even say about funny thing when you’ll sit in a car, invite Maria into it, waiting for titles ending and you’ll spawn right to your safe house door in your car… with Maria. Who will get out from your car and become a usual NPC with her own walking style. Of course, you can ask: why can’t we date with her after end of the game? It’s obviously. The reason for Maria not returning after the end is because she has no purpose, not because she could be dead. Game was realised in 2001 and R* thought mostly about map, atmosphere and game engine, storyline was secondary and they didn’t plan to make experiences with relationships. They planned to make it in VC, but realised it only in SA and improved in IV. So, that all I wanted to say. How many people, so many opinions. I made my point. Think yourself. Decide yourself. Owned!
Gta 3 was the first gta game I played and i fucking it loved it. Played it on my Grandma's toaster laptop with trackpad though it was hard beating the game I fking enjoyed every moment. Its funny how games rated 18 bring back so many memories from our childhood.
@@shadowwasnotfound3659 especially the mission where u swim to the boat. I literally beat this mission in two attempts but in the swimming mission it took me so many.
@@johntinio1680 amphibious assault? Woozie missions? Maybe first impression yeah you'll be many attempts to finish but if you know how to manage the "oxygen bar" during this mission, it would be easier.
My first time playing the final mission was terrible. On the PS2, there were 2 cheats I kept on “Chaos” where everyone is fighting and “give civilians guns.” Because everyone is fighting the girl you try and save at the end is fighting her two guards in the cutscene. She has no gun. The cheats couldn’t be undone so I had to play it like 100 times before I could finally save her. It honestly just became chance and I had to kill as many as I could before the cutscene shows her spawn in.

Is Claude an executive of Colombian Cartel before he got betrayed? Just wondering since the day i finished that game And also did they remove the part where we heard gunshot after/while playing the credits?
no, he just did robberies with catalina, but catalina wanted more, she wanted to be part of a greater crime organization, so she betrayed claude with miguel to be part of the cartel
