GTA 5 - MYTH: Phantoms (BIGGEST MYSTERY IN GTA 5???) 

For those of you who complain and disrespect Davidustin's effort. This is what I have to say to you, instead of disrespecting a talented creator for putting all his work and effort, maybe lift your lazy ass and try to create half the quality he created in this single video. Davidustin has made tons of videos on various myths in GTA, there is simply just nothing left for him to build content off. He puts all this effort and time for his subscribers and gets disrespected like that. It never sank to your head that one single video could take a few days of investigating, recording and editing to make it as interesting as possible for the audience. But hey if you are so brave, then why dont you start these gta mythhunting and we will all see what you come up with.

This is what I call a perfect myth hunter. There's literally no way you can do this any better, for real. You inspire me so much. Every video makes me wanna go there even though I made s video about this, every time I watch a video of yours makes me wanna go there again. I know you lost motivation in this, and your passion is not myth hurting like before, but even though you have this, you can't fail in making a video related to this. Bro, you are number 1, I'll take it, I am after you. Big love! 😊 Keep doing it once in a while because what you do is an excellent work.

Something tells me that those phantoms are an effect that was misplace and no one noticed that until players started called them phantoms and because of that they don't want to remove this error, or they were suppose to be for something else in those areas but that idea got scraped out but they forgot to remove the effect, because it looks like the exhaust smoke from a truck or a small chimney, mainly because you can some kind of speck of dust. 26:34 this one is very clear and also pretty near and maybe those phantoms are to give the illusion of wind in the game, having dust and small leafs flying to one direction. Also the way I comment on this video is that I see and add stuff to my comment at the same time, having the video pause when I am typing, sometimes I remove what I previously typed or edited out, but there are times I left as I 1st wrote because there is no reason to edit it or because I think it is a good idea to still be there.

There is another way to avoid wanted level in Fort Zancudo. Cletus's sode mission for Trevor disables wanted level too and there is no fail condition for leaving Sandy Shores so Trevor can go anywhere including Fort Zancudo

Couldn’t those phantoms be some misplaced smoke textures? Not saying your video was wrong, but looking at how Rockstar overlooked certain things in the game, I wouldn’t be surprised if those things were weird smoke or some glitched out particles. Maybe if someone digs into the game files they could find the textures for the phantom?

35:28 I am leaning more towards the theory that tyese were just glitches that got neglected by rockstar.

no way are we at a point where we're looking at leaf-blowing particles either on the ground or misplaced in the air and calling them phantoms? the ones in the dirt track correspond to wheels on the dirt path and the smoke in zankudo corresponds to rubber burning on tarmac. the repetitive nature of the ones in the dirt track suggests some lazy programmer tried to make a repeating particle effect across the track (possibly to show wind in the canyon), and didn't fix them to the ground. gta is so full of random glitches that anything that is just another particle effect used elsewhere in the game is best to be assumed as a glitch. there are so many mysteries rockstar purposefully puts in like the infinity killer, weird radio broadcasts, ghosts, aliens, sewer crocodiles, etc., yet we spend time looking at blowing leaf particle effects. edit: I'm boutta start gta mythhunting just so I can save some peoples' time from looking at leaf particles.

I definitely think these are just particle effects. The Fort Zancudo one is the only one that seems like it could be something else, and I think that one is just a bug. As for Rockstar not fixing it, there are plenty of glitches they haven't patched, and if it isn't game breaking, it likely won't get patched

They're probably just used as waypoints for npcs driving on the mountain road so that Rockstar's terrible sub-tier ai wouldn't drive off the road.

Hopefully this isn't too late, but if you go to the Del Perro Pier, at the end, near the stairs going down, there are 2 trash cans on each side. The one on the left has a phantom on it, and noticed it while messing around in first person. Its a pretty small one Edit: I was online when i noticed it

Well all of my thoughts and theories on this was all covered within the video. My thought that the phantoms/smoke was just an exhaust fume texture glitch, but then also that they are centralised within the area of the map most commonly associated with other paranormal and extraterrestrial encounters.

The Infinity Killer theory is an interesting one. However, due to these phantoms being placed with similar intervals, I think it could just be some flying particles, which were not programmed very well. Perhaps one person made all of them in this area, and made a mistake, due to which some ended up under the ground, and all of them kept repeating while they shouldn't. We saw similar particles (leaves) flying around in other areas, however, they were programmed correctly. The Fort Zancudo one may just be smoke from a deleted chimney, which they forgot to delete too. Notice that this one is dark, unlike the other phantoms. It's strange they didn't notice it when adding the UFO light, but perhaps they added the light and then decided to delete the chimney, and forgot to delete the smoke.

It's been more than 4 years watching Davi Dustin. His content is still that good.

The Raton Canyon Phantoms might be: • Spirits of the racers who died on the trail (the sheer number of them makes sense, considering this is the GTA universe where human life is worthless and self-preservation is comedy) • Abandoned checkpoints for a race minigame that Rockstar forgot to remove (the regular distances between them is suspicious and leans me towards this) • Dust devils/whirlwinds (the whirling motion leans me towards this) The Fort Zancudo Phantoms, though? No Earthly idea. Misplaced smoke? Perhaps actual ghosts? Indeed, the one under the UFO is so anomalous that it could be its own unique myth.

Its just a glitch otherwise why are some of them under the map? They’re no use to the player there so they mean nothing. Also where’s the bully myth videos?

Why this channel hasn't hit 1 million subs I will never know. Keep up the good work. Edit: 29:23, didn't Rockstar just patch the no ammo magazines in cutscenes glitch? I think Rockstar will never patch this glitch because it took almost a decade to patch another more prevalent bug.

idk man, i think it's a some kind of a glitch. Like in the first dirt road, the distance between two phantoms are almost equal. also some of them spawned underground. I mean if rockstar wanted us to find these phantoms why would they spawn them under the map, where players only can access through some trainers ? idk, this is my theory I might be wrong tho. anyways, good video m8. I recently joined to the channel and tbh, your channel is pretty underrated.

Knowing Rockstar they probably just didn't care to fix these "minor graphical glitches" because they weren't game breaking or didn't allow players to actually earn money in GTA Online

I went out to see this for myself, I was on online private, and at the second phantom spot I found an abandoned car. I looked around the area and up on a little hill, away from the mountain, there was a spot where you can hear lots of flys. Kinda weird for sure. Also farther up the road I found a spot where it looks like tire tracks going over a cliff. I went online private by myself to see if the phantoms were there because online can be very different than story.

Yo ngl, I honestly think they are just misplaced particle generators, diesel exhaust, vents, dust blowing In the wind etc. You can find those all over the map, weather they are attached to geometry or not. The ones in raton canyon likely we're suppose to be on top of peak or a rock to fill the screen space. But misplaced or stored in that location to be moved somewhere else. But must have been forgotten. I'm not critiquing the idea that they were intentional, I'm just being skeptical. Either way, love your content man 👍

Good video and hypothesizing but personally I cannot unsee these as just simple misplaced miniature dust devils. They are commonly seen on the dirt paths and they have even particles/leaves in them, which is greatly attributable to just the wind picking them up. This can be a simple placing error by Rockstar via however their map creator works, it simply can be z axis not being properly lined up or the code derping out, thus causing it to go under or above the map in places it shouldn't be. The one in Zancudo was prolly supposed to go on the roof and be a small detail gust of wind blowing around dust on the roof. And the "flies" sound effect can be easily concluded as simply mosquitos flying around as well, as mosquitos make similar noises in swarms in addition to media with audio effects. I'm not discrediting you, but I do see this being very easily debunkable. On the side note, I do appreciate the idea of branching out with theories on the different ways phantoms manifest themselves, that is very creative thinking regarding that. Had these not been too clear as small dust devils, or gusts of wind that are just sloppily made, I'd definitely think you'd be onto something.
