GTA 5 VR is still one of the very BEST VR mods in 2024 despite it not receiving any updates or enhancements since Rockstar shut the project down two years ago! I actually thought you couldn't play Grand Theft Auto 5 VR anymore but thanks to the guys over in the Flat 2 VR Discord channel I found out you can still get this mod working with a few additional steps and it's just as much fun as I remember. You can play the entire GTA V story in VR and free roam to your hearts content, the only thing you CAN'T do is play online, that portion of the game is off limits with the VR mod. If you want a near endless and incredible VR game that will keep you laughing and smiling for hours upon hours then GTA V VR / GTA 5 VR is what I'd recommend, easily one of the best VR mods available today.

It’s a shame but more and more devs seem to be leaning towards an anti mod stance recently, I’ve even seen Capcom edging towards a “we don’t like mods” outlook, it sucks. Modifying single player games to enhance the experience for individual players doesn’t hurt anyone so devs shouldn’t have any say in whether we can do that

@@southpaw6115 It's still gonna come out soonish. And I'll buy it and play mods. LA Noire VR is pretty cool. Take 2 needs to understand that I will buy a good game multiple times to play it with better experiences. I've bought GTA 5 3 times, Red Dead 2 twice, LA Noire and LA Noire VR, etc, etc.

We need Cyberpunk + GTA 6 in VR natively.... These kind of games will make VR consoles level relevant, it's like racing games once you try VR you can't go back.... It's same for these games, if we can get native VR support I believe VR will get alot of fans....

I recently watched the GTA 6 Trailer in 8k 3D, it almost looked like the game is being made for VR. Ofc it was done with AI. But Rockstar really needs to implement a native VR mode.

It wouldn’t sell half a billion BUT GTA and Assassins Creed are completely different beasts, GTA VR would sell headsets based on the cultural significance of a fully fleshed out virtual reality GTA game… Creed never had the power to do that on the same scale

Imagine if they paid the creators(or just aloud them) to make VR support. Then sell it as a DLC and both parties could get money and make it easier for folks to play it in VR without downloading random crap

OMG I had almost forgotten how much fun can be had in this game just by tweaking a few things like gravity or bullet time 😂 Thank you so much for rediscovering my first open-world mod!! Still a pity that T2 doesn’t like selling additional copies of the game to VR lovers, but as usual the Internet will find a way 😁

@lukeross5959 I spent literal hours and downloaded multiple pirate scene releases (for a game I own on 3 platforms and two PC stores) just so I could maintain an updater free GTA install that works with your mod. Your mods are awesome, thanks for helping keep PCVR alive

I haven't seen you have this much fun in a long time and I've been watching your videos constantly since 2018. GTA5 in VR has the power to make any grown man giggle uncontrollably for hours, _it is that good,_ when Rockstar went after LukeRoss my heart sank and I will never get over it, the VR implementation could've been so mature now but they ruined it for no reason, I truly detest that company including Take2, but at least we still have something and it's a blast.

GTA5 when it first came out was the first first person Rockstar game and then it was like improved upon With each iteration since then and then I assume the only thing they can do apart from like introducing chatgpt like AI into the NPCS, (which is way less likely) a big leap for them in terms of technology and innovation would be to make a fully VR rockstar game. Especially so now with how popular and accessible VR actually is to a lot of people, seeing how many people actually have 3070s and plus now, or equivalent so their systems can run them. And then you've got 20 million users of quest owners and like obviously they can hook their quest up to their PC systems. And bam, you've got like a pretty decent number of gamers that actually do have access to VR now, especially PC VR. So I don't know why they wouldn't actually invest in the tech considering the reach their ip has, and the budget involved may suggest other tech being focuse on behind the scenes... or that budget is meant for years ahead too for online ?? @@BeardoBenjo

Thx mate! I started playing this but after like 6 hrs into the campaign they shut down the mod. My 3080 was somewhat struggling. But now I can playthrough this gem with my 4090. Wanted to play cyberpunk as well but I couldn't get rid of the ghosting. Ran really bad for me even with the 4090 and the new mod. But GTA5 was really running good even with the 3080 back then.

There’s also the GTA Bike mod that lets you control in-game bikes with a desk cycle or regular exercise bike plus a cheap BT sensor from Amazon Not as cool as a decent FFB wheel setup, but if you have an exercise bike kicking around it’s cheap and fun and makes GTA an exercise game

You’re fine - you have a PS5 for traditional gaming option, as well as the exclusives ( RE8/4, HctM, GT7, Synapse, Switchback) and multiplats (AA classics and indie gems) on it as well.

Just as a heads up for Quest users, the mod doesn't work well if you're using Virtual Desktop. You need AirLink (or a link cable) with Asynchronous Spacewarp disabled (via the Oculus Debug Tool).

I just set this mod up 2 days ago and spent hours yesterday getting it dialed in with added mods. But I had to use a backup because every other mod seemed to break the game.. Are there any graphics mods that work with this? I can't even add cars

I use the valve index with a 4090 gpu 128 gb ram and the game starts perfectly running over 100 to 128 fps then after about 3 minutes or so it drops down to like 38 and I get the ghosting issue what’s the issue here is it my game or what

Don't waste your time, it looks like shit through the lenses, not even 1% what you see with this recorded through the monitor video. He never mentions that it wont look anywhere near this good. Just farms clicks and has people wasting their time wondering if their equipment is broken because they can never get it looking like this. Trust me I have 4090, i9 and I can tell you he does not see anything like this through the lenses. We are 10 years off from seeing this quality. Maybe when the RTX 9090 is released. These VR youtubers are BS, literally selling lies for clicks. And this with the AER does not even feel like a VR experience.

Don't mind with rollback files, i gave up on it months ago, its awful to have to do that every few days and every update, i stopped using the Steam version for VR, and just downloaded an old cracked one and made it only for VR, with some Cars mods and now im happy, i can comeback to it anytime and it'll just work, no updates, no stopping the mod from running, thats the best solution.

Now add natural vision remastered(NVE doesnt work with the required VR version). I spent 3 months modding mine, its so good that its really hard to play vanilla now or even GTA online.

I must be doing something wrong. I get a horrible motion blur type effect when using the luke ross mod. Was so disappointed after all the problems i had getting it to work.

Is this running with Virtual Desktop or Airlink? Only I still haven't found a way to get it to work properly with Virtual Desktop. Whenever I try, the camera shakes like crazy on every turn of the head.

This is running with a physical link cable, I tend to plug in whenever I’m recording sitting down, keeps the battery topped up and the cable doesn’t bother me

@@BeardoBenjoI have a quest 3 too. So to link it with cable I don’t need to run neither virtual desktop or airlink? Just plug in the headset to the pc will do? I got the mod myself working but can’t deal with the virtual desktop problem

Only thing holding this mod back from a 10/10 mod is the alternate eye rendering method it uses to render the game. Leaving the 1st person driving to become a blurry mess at times. It doesn't stop it though from being 1 of the best vr experience one can have. Third person driving works a little better but what I did was turn on a Fast Run cheat and I just ran on foot all Over the map and completed the whole entire GTA5 story again Running most of The Way LOL. Got to sight see a lot and that's half of the fun in vr. But maybe the rendering is better with a more powerful pc like yours. I found that it only bothered me while driving. Flying was fine. It's an amazing mod

And the fact it looks terrible and not even 1% close to what you see here recorded through a monitor. With the AER it doesnt even feel really VR. This guy sells lies for clicks

It really looks good if you got the pc for it. I have a 4090, and play gta vr at the highest resolution with 120 hertz. No ghosting and great visuals. It took a while to tweak though.

AER ...Even AER 2.0 is such a terrible method, not a single one Luke Rosses mod feels anything close to VR, Its the faint illusion it might be VR at best....These pepple seem to have lie hard, if I just believe Mayne If I beelive in myself and I believe in baby Jesusit might startto look like GTA in VR rather than a playstation 1 game.... here cope and fantize so

Haha, that's a top-tier comment. I understand your suspicion. When I first started up GTA VR, it looked terrible. AER is really nauseating. It took a long time to tweak. I edited the XML settings and the command line, and you need to play it at 120 Hz. I finally tweaked it right. I'm playing it right now, and it looks pretty decent and runs great. I can make a video through the lenses if you don't believe me, haha.

Thanks for this video! I was finally able to get it running. However I'm experiencing a ton of jitter esp when moving my head to look around at medium settings. Any suggestions? I have a 4070 and using Virtual Desktop. I play Msfs2020 VR in high settings fine

VD is not compatible with the mod. I recommend a cable or Airlink

@@deliveryguy_26the ghosting is unavoidable because of the alternate eye rendering, unfortunately. It's more bearable with RDR2 because the game is slower.
