Grand Theft Auto VI (also known as Grand Theft Auto Six, GTA 6, and GTAVI) is an action-adventure game currently in development by Rockstar Games. It is the eighth main entry in the Grand Theft Auto series and the third main title in the HD Universe of the series, following 2008's Grand Theft Auto IV and 2013's Grand Theft Auto V.

GTA 4 vehicles were too prone to tipping, and GTA 5 vehicles almost never tipped over. A mix of the two that leans towards the GTA 4 engine would be great. Although, I think that BeamNG-type physics should be the basis of GTA 6.

@Awesome LS That's why you can upgrade vehicle armor. The more armor, the more rigid the vehicle is. The only problem is that IRL, the crushing of a vehicle helps decelerate the passengers, so a rigid vehicle would probably turn the people in it into a puddle

The realistic physics is good because it will differentiate muscle cars and armored cars from normal cars making choice of cars more important than just hoping into any car to do a mission

Good point. And overall it connects you more to the car "immerses" you into the game. I absolutely h 8 ted how GTA 5 looked and felt. And I couldn't complete it even once, since playing it was like a torture for me compare to GTA 4. But GTA 4 I've played and completed many times.

I think a mix of GTA 4 and GTA 5s handling would be best as suspension was over exaggerated, and 5s was just too simple, and for destruction, GTA 4 is just perfect.

Realism is a key word for me... it makes a game last longer and it gives depth. But the biggest wish from my side is that Rockstar games and other game developers open up for people to make mods

BeamNG designs each part of the car individually, that's why it reproduces collisions so realistically, it's almost superfluous to recreate each of these parts in Gta.

You may not be able to create it to that level without a powerful computer but at least they could use BeamNG as a basis for their physics

I agree, GTA 4 was the best damage Also, I have not heard anyone who would not want a very realistic damage physics in the next GTA. That would be awesome and make you a cautios on your actions. That will put players on the edge of their seat lol

GTA need to stay arcade in vehicules, GTA 4 he's maybe the max acceptable i play arcade sim racing games and you don't want that in a "fun" games like GTA you gonna overheat the clutch in 2 seconds or puncture and direction probleme at the 1st bad sidewalk and want to reset (lot of that in beamng drive) i think something like forza horizon (mi arcade mi sim) is better for this type of games. forzahorizon series, gta 5, gta 4 and in the video he talk about that ( 5:20 ) and take in consideration casual players. some people want realism for nothing without take in consideration others players, games physics or playability of the games

The mission design wouldn't suffer from this, server could be both sided i think rockstar has the capacity and implementing a gta 5 damage model as 2nd option would fairly easy if the manage to the do a realistic one

GTA4 physics was straight up amazing on a day of release, also it was like 15 years ago. GTA's graphics have always been similar to current famous gameEngine.

Idk man, GTA 4s driving handling was god awful, it was way too unrealistic, like he mentioned, at high speed it’ll topple over to its side, taking a corner is like doing a sharp turn in a yacht. GTA 5 wasn’t realistic either, but it’s much closer then 4s was.

​ @Turdle GTA4 handling were super cool to experience cuz it was transition - GTA SA - GTA4, super huge leap in computer science of RBD physics all that. Now tho - for GTA6 realistic simulations needs to be tweaked to feel more arcady. Also apply Layers of simulation (Cloth, mud, fluids etc). GTA4 handling rendered me actually wanna drive by car cuz of physics. As well as driving had great risk/reward meaning all that.

@@SergKhrypun it just baffles me when someone says GTA 4 driving handling is the most accurate, deadass I drive in reallife, not once has my car had so much body roll around a corner you nearly rolled, cars nowadays are way too heavy to roll on a corner at slow speeds. GTA 4 motorbikes rode like they were skates on ice. I think people keep getting their feelings and nostalgia for GTA 4 in the way of the criticism of the game and won’t admit any flaws in the game.

@@TurtleWurdle GTA4's physics was accurate to 3D programs existing at the time. Where 2008 had 3D physics engines, that simulate 3D simulation in kinda tiny scale to real life. Calculations were accurate but applied to scale different then real world model. GTA5 has newer physics engine and calculations works just fine with real world scale. GTA6 would render the virtual game world with possible really photo-realistic simulations. Player controls and physics parameters would need to be tweaked according to main stream I guess.

I agree with you, but maybe they cloud add an option for the physics in the story mode, for the online i think that balance between both (gta 4 and 5) physics would be nice. Also i subscribed, a good channel for gta news!

I hope the driving physics are closer to something that we see in forza horizon games. That would be a good balance between simulation and arcade, plus that there are all sorts of optional assists for more casual players.

I’d love if rockstar created a new game title that focuses on RP. If they had an open world RP game they could add realistic physics to that.

I want the handling to be somewhere around Forza Horion, Dirt 3, or Racedriver: Grid from 2008, and I want the damage amount to be in between IV and V, with the damage sensitivity of V, and damage type as a mix of IV and 2008's Grid. Also, keep the midair car control but reduce the strength, and remove the auto-flipping for completely upside down vehicles. Also, I want realistic accelerations and accurate/realistic top speeds, and I don't want every damn car to be AWD.

Easy fix, car armor upgrades and handling upgrades like you would have in real life to change how the car handles and deforms and based on the mission the cars would have different upgrades for difficulty levels💁🏽 the more realistic the physics the harder the mission

A mix of the two games is best for me. Beam NG is amazing for what it is but would make the nature of GTA games unplayable. I’d say reduce breaking sensitivity from 5 and bring body deformation from 4. And make it more of an emphasis to buy things like armor , roll cages, and bull bars/push bars for vehicles. Make cars less rigid with handling as 5 but not as loosy goody as 4. And again make it an emphasis to modify and tune your car like buying brakes lowering suspension wings whatever and have a notable difference.

Balance between fun and realism is definitely key. Another factor that could come about if things were too realistic is the idea that too much crunch in the driver's cabin could lead to a quick death, meaning that someone with a larger vehicle could terrorize a lobby a bit too easily by crushing other vehicles, and it could make it too east to disable a vehicle by crushing one corner with a big enough truck and popping the wheel off. Still I'm all sort more vehicle deformation as long as the fun factor isn't sacrificed too much, especially if it leads to hilarity, like cars twisted up in weird ways but still able to run.

It won't have BeamNG like physics because it would be way to performance intensive, BeamNG can have it because it only simulates cars in lifeless background map, and even with just that it still runs not that well on good hardware like a 30 series gpu. Also GTA IV's damage physics didn't cause cars to break too quickly unlike BeamNG, so I think what would be ideal would be GTA V handling with GTA IV damage physics.

Yeah, no one wants to totally destroy a car in just a collision, especially in a GTA game. I'd like to see a mix of IV and V physics, and see how it handles.

GTA 4 physics were incredible and I think this type of damage/handling will make the game more enjoyable. The first thing that I noticed in GTA 5 in the first mission was the car crash .... I basically went into a wall with max speed and my bonnet opened, that was all :))) I though that my settings were set to low but no :)) that was the crash physics... so sad. At this level of Rockstar Games, they should be able to make different damage percentage for the vehicles. For example '' Dukes '' is basically an old charger that needs to be so fragile in compare to a '' Patriot '' right ? So I think that going from GTA 4 physics for old cars to stronger chassis to newer cars would be awesome. If you will have a mission you will search for a newer car, faster car, or use what you have but this will make the game more fun and enjoyable. In GTA 5 I can use any car and ram all the cops and still be able to complete the mission :))))) like .. for real?

Make it the realistic model but allow cars to be upgraded to have armor to help in missions. Another reason to upgrade cars aside from speed/looks.

I think the more realistic the better or rockstar should definitely make a tradeoff game and make it as realistic as possible and include all the older gta cities and connect them all. In the realistic game which they are working on supposedly called “everything” they should try to make every physics in the game from human to environment indfferential from reality. Such as even internal anatomies and exercising increases muscle fibers and surgeries etc

I love BEAMNG. I hope they can make a mix of GTA and BEAMNG like damage. In the Unreal Engine V MATRIX Demo it is very good and this will fit very well in GTA. I also hope for more realistic driving physics where its possible to drift.. In GTA V is a ASR System permanent active and makes real drifting impossible. That can be a Mix of FORZA HORIZON and GTA V for me.

I feel like it should still have the arcade type handling but overall the sound of the engine should sound more realistic and car damage more responsive to hits. Also I'm glad you mentioned the option between realistic or arcade i've been saying this for the longest but they should just add the option for mainly story mode. For multiplayer idk lol

This made me think RDR2 witness system when someone witnesses you doing killing. If they add security cameras in gta6 with same kind of witness system it's going to be kind of funny 🤣 and hell

a mix between 4 and 5 would be good. visual damage and flying out the car like 4 did, paired with a crisp and arcady driving experience of 5...maybe a bit more realistic though to feel the weight of the vehicle

What if you could modify your car in a workshop so then you could modify the option so your car is almost unflappable or easily flippable.and like the armor option for your car if it doesn't have armor then it is much more destructable but if the armor is on level 5 then its hardly destructable.

Parts don't really break off in beamng unfortunately besides just the bumpers and mirrors and things like that. Every other piece of the car just deforms even when it would make way more sense for them to break or fall off

They can also make an option in the settings menu, where you can enable "Realistic Crash Mode", And with that , players will be able to enable or disable cars destruction similar to beamng. So you as a player can have more realistic experience, but in the same time, we can disable it and make it normal so we won't have to lose missions or be more careful while driving.

I think the best possible driving physics for a GTA Game Would have to visually look like GTA 4 with it's wobbly suspension But with the efficient controls from GTA V Same for the Destruction Models of Cars Cars should be able to take a lot of damage before breaking down Cars should not be sensitive like Beamng But destructive should be on the same level if possible

I actually like the idea of realistic driving. Especially vehicle damage. It doesn’t have to be 100% but some realism aspects should be present in gta6. It adds immersion factor and it does make missions more interesting. It’s cool to take into account your vehicle. Putting gas for fuel in gta6 would add a lot of real life aspects too. Especially when you plan missions.

Gta 4 physics was the best, it gave also a good feeling once you master the driving, it was more immersive especially in the 80s action movies chases. Gta V never gave that and bored me as soon as all the missions were passed

Riding a motor cycle in GTA5 is pure hell .It should have been like San Andres . The more you ride the better you get the harder it is to fall off .

Honestly a sweet spot would be if vehicles did get damaged to extreme but they'd make them a little bit stronger so a single crash would not make the car totaled so you can keep on driving.

Im hoping GTA VI has more of a realistic setup where they would push the boundaries of what’s allowed in a video game. Because for sure theyre not just gonna make it the most realistic thing knowing what their audience is comprised of. I hope the driving feels closer to GTA V in the sense that the surroundings interact with impact more like it would in real life. And I hope they improve the atmosphere in some parts of the map

If one car collision meant destruction or major damage, I don't enjoy driving anymore because I'll always end up in a tree at 135mph when driving a car😅

one of the sweetest parts that made gta series what they are is the fact that you can wreck havoc in an entire city.. If the vechicles turn to be paper fragile it should be named something else entirely.

gta 4 damage was more fun. the driving physics were like bit weird, but in my opinion better than gta 5. but npc/player physics are hopefully like gta 4.

GTA IV driving model was much more rewarding when you knew how fast you can afford to go.. I wouldn't mind the more arcadey model in GTA V but what pisses me off is that whenever you drive over a small obstacle on the ground (curb) the car instantly jumps up making it look really weird.. I'm surprised they still haven't fixed this after the 10 years of updates and I hope they fix it in GTA VI and make the driving somewhat more similar to IV

It depends on the Map design The map design is the foundation on how cars should be able to behave If GTA6 map has a pretty big emphasis on realism the cars are going to be realistic to Add to the Scenery and Image that their pushing If the map is Arcady with loose roads and less turns with weak building design then the cars are going to also be Arcady with less design to the suspension and easy steering You also won’t be able to play with other players with different driving styles (like Inter said already) because that poses an unfair advantage when it comes to missions, racing, etc So it just depends

Cab deformation was removed from gta5 when they added 1st person (so the roof, windows, etc wouldn't clip through the character).

Honestly gta 5 car crash system is very similar to 4 (without putting armor on gta 5 cars) if you take a completely bare gta 5 car with no armor and trash it up, it definitely crumples a LOT, and loses body parts, and even blows up like 4. But the handling and driving experience is definitely different and more arcade like in 5. The crash systems are more similar than they way cars drive in both games

The most important thing they should add in the next game is keeping whatever vehicle you have permanently, unlike gta 5 story mode and rdr2, it would make the game more fun to play knowing your driving the car you want always, and not a scripted and forced one...

GTA IV's driving WAS and IS literally perfect. There's nothing wrong with it. Players talk of tipping over, hard turns, and low speeds. But that's its greatest strength. The physics are so good that if a player just dedicated themselves to learning each and every car's weight, there would be no complaints. After coming back to it after so long, it just shines so much brighter than any other game. Cop chases ALWAYS feel fresh, creative, and memorable if you're good enough. I say, bring back IV's physics. Speaking of, just remaster IV while we're at it.

I’d prefer realism honestly. Like, I’d like to see them force players to sit through more stop lights while playing lol. I’ve enjoyed the arcade style of past GTA games, but when it come to driving, shooting, and NPCs I’d love to see more realism on all fronts. That includes vehicle damage, water physics, and the entire star rating system. Players should only drive like a maniac while running from the cops, chasing down a target, or street racing. Other than that it should be fun and challenging to drive fairly regularly. All that to say : put in realistic vehicle damage lol.

6:09 I think for the early builds, they use their previous games and build on top of that (not for the finished game). This may be why the driving looks similar to GTA 5, and how there were some elements of Red Dead 2 in the leaks.

There should be 2 options at the start of the game, hard or easy like in rdr1, if the player chooses easy the driving, physics, damage and all that will be like in gta v, if hard is chosen it will be extremely realistic
