I believe GTA 6 is taking so long simply because GTA 5 became the second best top selling video game in history and Rockstar are continuously relying on it’s success especially when u consider the fact that the GTA Online addition made a profound success towards the series and Rockstar might rely on that success for eternity

Because 10 years later gta5 is still a huge cash cow,so why not milk it till the last drop.

If 26th Oct is not the day, I'm starting to believe it's gonna take a long while until we hear anything about the next GTA game. Until then, let's enjoy great games that have been coming out recently.

Crazy to think we got 5 GTA games on PS2 but only 1 GTA game on 3 gens! (Minus GTA4)

Apparently, the main reasons why GTA6 is taking so long is due to lack of agreed direction & design within the title going right up to the very top of the company, hence why so may key members of staff (including a Howser) have left R*. Plus the crunch & abuse culture around RDR2 times put a lot of devs on the brink too. GTA5 shows that they'd already started to drift away from the core essence of what a GTA game is / was, in terms of satire and sense of humour / fun, so I hold very little hope that GTA6 will be a true GTA.

i wish the devs to take as long as they need to finish and polish the game so we can get the optimum experience when it releases

Alot of these comments are ridiculous. Rockstar is one of the few companies who cares about quality instead of rushing a game out and fixing it [finishing] it with patches. And also people saying gta online got in the way cuz they are doing that instead don't realize how many employees Rockstar has in the companies They have teams. The team that was doing GTA online are different than the team working on GTA 6 So no GTA Online was not being done instead of GTA 6. It was being done during GTA 6 development. And over the last couple years more and more people from gta online team have been moving to finish gta 6 and that's why u have seen less updates and less content in gta online over the last couple years. Also game development takes much longer these days and with the quality Rockstar gives of course its gonna take a very long time. People who are bitching about gta 6 not being out don't understand game development or that Rockstar is one of the few developers these days that prefer to give us a quality game instead of a half finished rushed game like most games are released in these days. Trust me Rockstar will make GTA 6 worth the wait cuz they want this game to be perfection and perfection takes ALOT of time and patience. Ik u all want a great game and for that to happen u need to let Rockstar take all the time needed to make that happen

The next announcement will be gta4 remaster not Gta6. Everybody is forgetting this. The gta4 remaster (like RDR remaster) will be used to try and take the heat off and buy them more time with Gta6. There's no way they'll announce gta4 remaster AFTER Gta6 because nobody would care at that point.

One of the main reasons i believe it's taking so long was the production of RDR2. You can't tell me it didn't take them a long time to make that, as well as lots of rockstar employees working on the game. I mean they were pretty much caught up with that for a good while. Now imagine a game like gta 6. Yes that's going to take a while. Furthermore, many employees have come and gone in the past few years, that surely doesn't help. We have to consider when employees come and go it slows production down. For example, a coder leaves and gets replaced. That new coder they hired won't know what to do right away, they will have to be trained by the rockstar team. Each company has their own way of making a game. All in all, these are just some of the factors we need to take into consideration. We do know they used to work 100 hour works weeks. Which is just insane and draining to anyone's wellbeing. I'm not surprised nor do i blame anyone for leaving.

Some people are so stubborn and they don't understand how much research, how much investment and how many resources takes to build a game of such caliber, nonetheless a game that needs to be a game changer for gaming industry. Furthermore, people forgot about RDR2 to, that has been in development for a long time, along with the next GTA, that requires a lot of development power.

RDR2 still blows my mind to this day, the way you can interact with NPC’s makes them feel almost human like

I havent gone through the whole vid, but i honestly think with chatgpt coming in last year and the level of AI, how to intergrate new NPC dialogue into the game directly, ai mechanics will have thrown them for a toss. They wouldnt want a game ro get incredibly dated withun the first year of release because AI tech is now a game Changer. They're looking to intergrate for the long run which is why its taking so long.

I agree with everything you said in this video. People want this game now but then would complain when its rushed, buggy or forces developers to work 100 hour weeks. RDR2 is one of my favorite games so id happily wait till 2025 for this game

I 100% believe it would have been announced by now if it didn't leak. I think the leaks actually took alot of pressure off rockstar. People now know protaganists and setting. Rockstar will not rush. Also hopefully once it is announced we will get a solid release date without the typical rockstar delays.

Not gone lie,, I'm super excited for a new GTA. Been playing it since I was 6 years old when III came out lol, but I'm pushing 30 now and I just hope I'm still breathing to at least see the trailer 😂

But I mean yeah, NOW 10 years later I expect a whole new engine and graphic fidelity leap. The longer they take to show us what the game looks like the more the expectations rise. And if they want pre order sales they’d care about that

Taking 12 years to make a game is not "rushing it to market." Rockstar is simply milking GTA5 for as much cash as they can before they release GTA6.

GTA V took forever to make too. it also had an insanely high budget. Just be patient folks, it will probably pay off

I would agree but a 10 year wait without even a teaser or a trailer is abysmal. if a trailer or teaser doesn’t get announced this year that’s 11 years without any information about the game. I think a lot of you need to realize we’re not asking for the game to be released right now what we’re asking for is actual information and pride talking about the game rather than this FBI top secrets approach they have.

Seems like the best plan would be to release GTA6 then the online function 6 months after gives everyone time to finish the story and get new consoles whilst rockstar gets the online up and going for everyone

Rockstar continues to make a ton of money hand over fist with GTA Online. They're not in a big hurry to release GTA 6.

I actually hope this game sucks when it comes out. After the way Rockstar have milked GTA 5, screwed fans over with the GTA trilogy Remaster and re-release price of red dead and the pure neglect of the red dead 2 community all whilst leaving fans in the dark about GTA 6 as they're making so much money off a 10 year old game is just disgusting.

They aren't waiting on GTA Online to plummet to make a move. They are more so taking time to make sure they can launch smoothly with a new and better online option within GTA 6 to get players to leave GTA 5 Online at launch. So if they announce GTA 6 coming anytime soon its because Online will be ready at launch too.

Thé studio worked on Red dead redemption 2 to after GTA v . Rockstar never disappointed me they always deliver Quality.

Why not? When people are still playing gta 5, like they have never played a gta series before. Gta 5 sold on the ps3 ps4 and ps5 the same game for 3 generations of consoles and people still went and made a purchase. Why should R* rush to put out the next gta title when dumbasses cant get enough of the old shit. GTA the definitive edition, was hot mess of old gta tittles and people still went and bought it. R* could charge $100 for gta6 and I bet the dumbasses would still buy multiple copies and still be playing gta5

Everyone is worrying about the wrong things, what about the games they abandoned? Midnight, bully, manhunt, max Payne. Yes GTA 6 is highly anticipated but I’m sure a bully 2 or max payne would also be high anticipated game everyone would love

I am one of the programmer in rockstar game (specifically GTA) the reason it is taking too long is because the upload of the game in the market is not done yet due to the huge size of the game lmao

People keep saying GTA Online is the reason, when it could not be further from the truth. GTA Online gets less and less updates each year and it’s clear rockstar is starting to make a departure from it. We need to also remember that Rockstar is adjusting to a new work space after the development hell of earlier GTA 6 production and RDR2 development. The game is also simply a large game and it’s not easy to make it, it’s not like all 2000+ employees at rockstar are actually developing GTA 6 or any rockstar products for that matter. Some of the rockstar employees are there just for things like community management and such. Patience is key at the end of the day, we will get GTA 6 soon enough.

It's taking so long because rockstar decided instead to give us Grand Theft Horse 2, a sequel nobody asked for or wanted to a game nobody asked for or wanted. And for what? Nobody played grand theft horse 2 so rockstar abandoned it within 2 years of release.

Gta 5 will be on Playstation 9 before GTA 6 comes out.

TLDR. Rockstar games realised long ago they can make a lot of money by doing little to no effort with GTA online instead of working hard on a new game.

They should start doing the copy and paste method that the Spider-Man’s does . Just use the same city for 7 as 6 , but add a little more city and new cars , story . It would make the wait significantly less

GTA online seems to be winding down a bit the last 2 big updates were really just vehicles repurposed for businesses. I still have chaotic fun in gta online I get why people are pessimistic but there is also a really good chance GTA 6 will be the best game we’ve ever played

The obvious answer is that they were milking GTA online. however this is gonna end up making GTA6 A lot better because GTA6 was in development pretty much that whole time, but the development team and the publisher saw 0 reason to rush the development of the game when GTA5 online was still so profitable. so in essence, GTA6 has taken longer in the oven Than a lot of games do. And it's been actively developing for several years with pretty much a limitless budget holding it up and buying it time.
