It was supposed to be gta 3 port on GBA but then it had her own story and its before gta 3

@@POPCATthe3rd Yeah, I know Mike got his own story and it's the lore of GTA 3 Storyline just like LCS, But the Gameplay of this game is pretty similar to GTA 2, The soundtrack and of course the classic 2d style even tho it's The Old Liberty City

The game is literally a precuel of GTA 3, as it was originally mean to be a GTA 3 port for GBA, but they changed it to have it's own story, placed in the year 2000, a year before GTA 3, and it's in Liberty City, the same Liberty City of GTA 3, with the map a little modified respect the GTA 3 for the GBA graphics. Also, you know it's a precuel when characters of GTA 3 appear here, such as 8-Ball, Asuka Kasen and King Courtney.

Imagine how some kids felt when they asked their parents for GTA and got this instead of San Andreas. Not that it’s a “Postal 3 type of terrible” game that’s unplayable when I have played it, it can be quite fun sometimes, but you expected an open world game where you’re in the LA and got this pixelated mess that looks worse than GTA 1 and 2 instead.
