GTA Trilogy: The Definitive Edition turned out to be pretty disappointing and made me think that "remasters" are pointless and lazy in general. Old games like GTA III should be REMADE, not REMASTERED. I made this video to show what GTA III Remake could look like in action. Enjoy!

It looks amazing, but in my opinion, Claude doesn't have to speak because that would take away his greatest quality. Claude was designed to be a stealthy and silent assassin, so he better not speak. (Sorry if I misspell in English but it's that I speak Spanish

@@CinematicSeriesGaming Where'd you get that from? Do you know how long and hard developing a game is? Grove Street Games, which had approximately 20-25 people working on the remaster took 2 years to do. Making a remake would take 4-6 years, even if it was Rockstar Games themselves. 3 games remade would take a long time

It makes me so mad seeing this and then seeing what we got. These games needed a remake, not a remaster and there are so many problems with the trilogy. It’s not even grove street game’s fault, they’re mobile devs and of course as a company they’re gonna take the money and make these remasters. It’s solely rockstars fault for choosing to make a remaster, and handing everything to mobile developers.

I don't know if it's possible to voice claude even in a remake. but this trilogy definitive needed ragdoll physics. they fucked up for not doing that one job.

Anything would be possible in a remake. Claude didn't speak in GTA III just because it was an old game with a small budget. A remake would need to make everything bigger, better and consistent with modern standards. A story about a mute errand boy who agrees to kill people by nodding his head would be absolutely ridiculous when presented in a modern-looking game. Obviously the story, cutscenes and dialogues would have to be rewritten to make sense in this new context. Mafia: DE did that. It kept the main plot points but tweaked dialogues, missions and presentation.

@@jcfilms3437 sure but he definitely wasn't a realistic mute person. It's not like he was writing stuff or using sign language to communicate. He was just a video game errand boy who nods his head to accept missions from people who boss him around. It's a relic of the times. If I were to remake GTAIII with realistic GTAV-style graphics and gameplay, I'd obviously change the story and Claude's character a little to make everything more believable and realistic. I'd make Claude a reserved character who doesn't talk a lot but he'd not be completely mute because it's just cartoonish.

Honestly I think they would've made a decent product if they aimed for a remake. They aimed for a remaster so they thought they could just take the lazy route and carelessly make the old graphics shiny and AI upscaled. But if they went for a remake, they would be forced to exert way more effort than what they did since they have to remake all the assets.

This makes me really sad. Liberty city stories was my favorite game I played on PS2 as a kid. I adored it. And I hope someday rockstar will put an actual effort to remake these classics. I don't know why they did such a bad job in this definitive edition but it doesn't do justice to the games that literally built rockstar into what they are today.

@@KimSamaVideos Wish it were a true one :( LCS and VCS deserve more attention, considering they're the only 3D GTA games that people don't talk much about aside from the GTA IV DLC's. Just shadowed by the legendary trilogy. Wouldn't mind something happening with Chinatown Wars either tbh, but definitely not as much compared to the "stories" games. We can hope, but R* never fails... to disappoint us.

This is a really cool video, props to the creator and everything. Feel like there could've been more done to actually enhance GTA3's version of LC instead of just using the HD universe setting with some graphic mods and some GTA3 assets thrown in there.

I'm with you in this point. This game (and the whole trilogy for that matter) deserved a remake, not a remaster. But as they went for the remaster way, they should at least fix known issues and not introduce new ones. But the more important now, your fan trailer is awesome! We'd have Claude as a very well written character with a backstory and voice instead of just a player insert, to make him more human, other characters talk with him, know about his life and whereabouts instead of giving him take tasks over and over.

He could also be cold and mysterious talking. You can see it by playing Niko. Sometimes he's very dark and mysterious and he's not mute.

@@Gu12herme if you give Claude the ability to speak, you have to change the ENTIRE plot and add a lot of new dialogue, change the way characters behave and add a lot of new and longer cutscenes. Rockstar already explained why he doesn't talk. The plot doesn't need him to do it. The same thing goes for Tommy not being able to swim

Looks more like a remake. It's good, but I try to compare this to the Mafia one but I think that was a remake that they called "Definitive". I think the perfect balance would've been a mix between the 2, like updated graphics, & added details from SA into VC & III, like swimming, bikes, car bail-outs, etc. Also updating some of the mechanics to be more modern.

The truth is that I would like you to join the two unviersos (HD and 3D) and adapt the story of claude speed, tommy vercetti and cj but in the unverse HD which would not be difficult since they would only have to give each map a touch of antiquity, such as: Liberty City from the HD universe put it in the 2001 environment, which is the year that gta 3 is based, and so with the 3 games ... That had to be the '' Definitive Edition '', it did not have to be the same games with artificial rescaling of textures and a shitty filter .. anyway that had to be a real Definitive Edition if not a Defective Edition instead

Only thing I disagree on is not keeping Claude mute, but everything else... 👌 I like how you showed him in actual prison like we'd also get an expanded story that's more in depth too, I would actually play into Claude's inability to speak, making him the perfect criminal as everyone knows he can't snitch. Something like that would be cool, maybe he did speak but somebody cut out his tongue? Giving it a GTA 4 style grit that be cool af

Why'd they choose this song? I mean the original. A mix of dubstep in trap goes so nicely with all 3 games, all of which have a very distinct and memorable main theme. You know what? They'd be better off just using Da Shootaz - Joyride as the trailer theme. Actually, scratch that. There is no better track than that one to use in a GTA trailer.

They would have to completely change missions from GTA 3 to fit this style of map, also this map is from a more modern era, also the dam is missing, which is the most important part of GTA 3. This is just a mod on GTA 4.

I think classic gta 3 map could work too but more bigger and extended . We need things like more weapons ; realistic ragdolls , more interiours , restaurants, more safehouses , hitman missions ,aircrafts ,more cars and extended ghost town map . Realistic character models . Another thing would be so interesting for me is carcer city easter egg . This is the definitive edition i hoped for .

Many people say Definitive edition GTA games are remasters, but i think they were remade, because when i search for GTA DE engine, it says UE4 and these 3 originally used Renderware and you can't just reuse mechanics from a different engine in UE4 for example, you get what i mean. Although, this looks pretty good
