since this video amazingly got featured (last video i imagined going viral) i can say that this mod has barely been started it is just half the city thats all that is done nothing more
quick video of a mod converting gta 3 liberty city to the rage engine
to avoid confusion this mod is not the gta3 rage project seen here

this is a completely new project made by a friend of mine they may be similar but they are not the same projects

actually the friend who did this is also doing gta 1 on the rage engine he showed me pictures of it last year but the project was stopped i tryed to convince him yesterday to reboot so he said maybe in the summer

what people don't understand is that this was a joke he did this in a few hours and for fun i wanted to make a video of it this was all a joke in comparison to the other ones none of us expected this would actually happen if we knew the video would get this popular we would wait untill we had more this was done in just a few hours thats it

seriously speaking the RAGE engine stands for rockstar advanced game engine and is rockstar games latest graphics engine it runs gta iv and episodes from liberty city including red dead redemption

I think if you're going to do another video on this, you should wait and see if Onepiece (GTAForums) will redo every building in HD like he has already started doing so. This will guarantee a more HD environment for future videos. Either way it's nice to see someone showcasing the early stages of its development. :)

apart from the "No tunnel" at the docks, you seem to have avoided every single place that were not the same from GTA III and LCS. You didn't go in front of the 1st LCS safe out, avoided the apartment building site, avoided the ferry, avoided other places that changed. What we saw was GTA III.

cryengine is good for one thing and one thing only visuals and thats cryengine 2 possible 4 thats in crysis 3 the rage engine is good for EVERYTHING and i mean everything it is the most flexible engine i know after that comes source and then unreal the rage engine is the greatest engine ever made for a free roaming game skyrim would look miles better with the rage engine and the details it has including feel

i am sorry i tryed to help you but i don't know whats wrong the only thing i can say now is clean your pc download tuneup utilities and turn on turbo mode through it this will turn your pc into basic look including disabling unneeded things etc make it run lighted try to run the game with that thats what i always do

Its true! Morrowind uses Netimmerse, which was modified and turned into gamebryo. GTA 4 uses Gamebryo.

The game engine is from GTA 4, the map is from GTA 3 converted to GTA 4 compatibility.

Hey Pal, I've seen almost all of your videos, you are pretty good at modding, I was wondering if you'd care to help me out on something.I'm trying to run GTA IV properly, I can run it on fine resolutions, but after playing soem time sounds get messed up, loops and such, do you have any idea about fix? I'm going to take a stab in the dark and guess that you have only come to that conclusion from watching this video. The biggest visual improvement between RenderWare and RAGE in the case of GTA is the new shading/shadow system. The silly person who recorded this for some odd reason decided to show this "upgrade" off using a cloudy weather setting, when there is no sun to cast shadows with, hence not much of an improvement is apparent.

Yeah, the mod maker's are great, but I'd think it won't truly blow my mind until they do what they did with Half-Life and totally retexturize the whole word on the new engine.

Skyrim uses a modernised Gamebyro, GTA 4 uses RAGE which was made ground up from scratch by Rockstar.

miss this liberty city...there use to be riots, peds with weapons, assasins trying to kill you aaahh I miss those days. And it sucks in Grand Theft Auto IV's Liberty City cause people don't riot and they are all inocent but in the Liberty City from Grand Theft Auto 3 Era yo ITS CRAZY!

Fun fact: GTA 4 and TES 3: Morrowind use the same engine, just GTA 4's is heavily modifed.

that's from LCS, it's slightly different from the GTA 3 map, the "LCS" also got fewer polygon since it's on PSP

to be honest, the old liberty city looks barely any better on the RAGE engine, i noticed a huge difference in Vice City and San Andreas. This does look better but barely...

Yes. GTA IV is a direct copy of NYC. GTA III is just a vaguely similar generic East Coast city.

clean it ALOT defrag the harddrive plus registry use ccleaner to clean your pc clean it in any way possible then close everything running delete all folders on the desktop make it clean start the game free non modded if it still does that then your pc is too weak to handle it theres no other explanation i have sorry

lets just say they make a shit ton of money, you don't get the point, the only reason they remake games on newer consoles is either because they made one and it was not a good seller, or either they aren't making any, or very rarely they didn't make very much off the first version.
