It's Rockstar's Skyrim. It's been released on every platform after PS2.

I like the PS4 version keeping the original PS2 style but looks a lot more crisp and detailed. Side note: The way the sky looks in the PS2 compared to other versions; it makes sense for the sky to look like that. Since Los Santos is based on LA, it also incorporated the smog into the environment since LA is notoriously known for it. Even some of the station DJ’s make smog reports for the LS area.

PS4 version is my absolute favorite since it’s just the PS2 one with higher res

The Original home of San Andreas is still the best place to visit it, despite its technical inferiority. It's not how high-tech is your game, but how much soul it's got.

The Original Xbox version is really fantastic. Shows how powerful the console really was, it's basically the PC version at high settings but running at 480p. I have it and it runs great on the Xbox 360.

Another great video! Interesting note: alot of games released around this time hsve different fov sittings for xbox snd ps2 Like POP and NfS for example and GTA all of em have different.fov settings for ps2 and xbox Most likely because ps2 ran at a super low interlaced resolution

just did the steam modded version , looks amazing plus the nostalgic feeling of the ps2 sky and lighting effects

just a point - the only thing changed graphically on the PC version isnt the sky - the lighting is also changed too, the PS2 is the only version to use the very saturated orange graphics, the mod you use injects those into the game, for all intents and purposes the original retail 1.0 GTA SA for PC looks pretty much the same as the OG XBOX version. gotta say tho, imo the PS2 looks the best - that warm orange glow and the blurry hazy look just make me feel so comfy and enveloped, all of the other versions lack those saturated oranges and browns that game had and they lose some magic because of it

Awesome comparison, man! Lots of details. I got the platinum for SA on PS4 a few months ago, and I just found out PS3 is actually better... WTH...

Did you know: it was also the first GTA Game to ever receive an AO rating (Adults Only), and the ESRB wasn't having any of it. So Rockstar had no choice but to remove the 'Hot Coffee Mod' and tone down content in order to get the green light from the ESRB.

My favorite version will always be the Playstation 2. While it is almost the objectively worst one, it was the first and it was *my* first as well. I never liked the HD remaster on mobile and newer consoles, it just feels too cheap if that makes any sense. Hell, they even removed the two player option, limited as it may be, from the newer copies of the game.

Also they replaced the Sky on every other version because the other consoles couldn't do the Z buffer effects the Ps2 was so good at due to it's architecture.

I do prefer the version on ps4 due to the orange glow. I think it happens to hide alot of its gross graphics and flaws really well, before the ps4 version was out, the ps2 was my go-to.

You can drive slow on ps2 by lightly pressing x since the controller has the pressure sensor things in it

Finally it's out. The video is out!!! Edit: Ps2 and Ps4 uses fake reflection on vehicles while Xbox and PC (unpatched steam copy) uses the sheen effect on vehicles. Ps2 and Ps4 uses fake shadows under peds and vehicles unlike the Xbox and PC uses dynamic shadows.

Some of the music they removed just killed the spirit of what made the game so great. Some of the sound tracks that play in the interiors make a huge difference. Like Hood Took me under plays when you go to Big Smoke's Mansion lol.

I don't know why but I like the kind of blur effect that ps2 have than the sharp graphics of the new versions, maybe is because this effect hides better the technical limitations.

I never knew you could do that much in GTA SA, I have the game on Steam and it is amazing! I'm currently playing Vice City Stories on my phone and I have to say it is really good so far.

I miss the days when I was 5 y/o. No school to worry about, just playing GTA SA on the PS2 for hours. Especially the Hot Coffee minigame (yes I somehow managed to get the version with the Hot Coffee idk why and how)

Had little to no enjoyment playing GTA 5, bought San Andreas last week and i've been having a blast ever since. Guess you really cant beat the classics

Also, the PS2 version has cool car controls. The face buttons ( ✖️🔳🔼🔘) are pressure sensitive. So you press lightly and you can actually cruise at a cool, "Hey girl" cruising speed. Press hard and it's like you have pressed the accelerator to the floor. I'm not 100% sure if the PS3 did this as well. But the PS4 does not as its face buttons only have 2 states. On and off.

fun fact, there is a fan made patch for the og xbox to bring back the sky and colors of the PS2 version, you can even play it at 720p with a hardmodded xbox! Neat :)

Thought I'd weigh in as this is my favorite game of all time. 15:39 - I actually think they both load in at the same distance. Anyway, as far as the PS2 and original Xbox versions go, I love the higher res. of original xbox, but what lets this game down on it is the clunky controller; doing drive-bys using the white/black buttons is something I could never get used to. PS2 is still the superior version of the 2 for controls alone. With the port to PS3 the thing that is missed the most by me is the animated lights for the casinos on the strip...it's a freaking travesty that the ps2 was able to do that, yet 10 years later and all those pretty animations are now gone. :/ Not to mention weather heat ripples are gone, all the long grass is gone, side views and 360 control of the camera while flying are gone...they stripped away so many features for the android / ps3 / x360 ports. -_- honestly at this point the PS4 port is the only one I could recommend, and even that is annoying to recommend to people with EU PSN accounts as it's running at 50FPS...still it's the best we've got to the original for now unless you plan on buying a retail PC or steam copy and installing a controller input mod, skyfx, etc.

You think you could do Sonic Adventure or Sonic Heroes? there's some pretty interesting differences between platforms. Also awesome video really like how deep you want with this game's differences.

My personal favorites are the OG Xbox and the Xbox One versions. Probably because I owned this game back in the day on the OG Xbox instead of PS2.

Hitman 2 Silent Assassin would be a GREAT side by side.

My personal version ranking: Modded Steam > Retail PC/Pre 3.0 Steam > PS2 > PS4 > Mobile > PS3/Xbox 360/Xbox One/Windows Store PS4 would be higher than PS2 if it had the full soundtrack.

You forgot to include the Android comparison, playing on my S10 output to 4k using a Bluetooth controller looks pretty dope.

PC version with PS2 Graphic mods is the best.

To me, personally, the Xbox is the best version. Mainly because it was the first and only version I played my whole life. The PS2, while the best to most people, just doesn't look as good as the other versions. The PC is also good too, thought it came out the same day as the Xbox Version. The remastered versions for mobile, Xbox 360 and ps3 just don't look that appealing to me, all the characters look like they were coated in too much polishing wax

Idk to me from a console standpoint i like the Xbox one/Xbox 360 version. but i like the Steam one for the most part since PC version is what i mainly play. now there was one feature that i used alot in San Andreas, Custom soundtracks (Xbox, PC). Great Video JN!

PS3 version is my favourite. Great graphics with the classic PS2 controller setup.

I think the ps2 is zoomed in because you probably enabled widescreen which actually just crops the 4:3 video
