Why do people take this so seriously? They are NOT active military. They don't know the difference in uniforms. It's a video game. I'm sure they aren't making fun of service members, and I'm sure They appreciate your service, as do I. So chill.

@Harley Bradford Just because we’re in the military doesn’t mean we’re above the law. If I got drunk, went driving, and got pulled over, I can get charged with DUI. I’d be arrested and likely heavily punished or kicked out of the military. There are some instances, like plates, where the military is exempt but other than that we still have to follow the law.

California Vehicle Code 21801: (a) a driver who is intending to either turn left or make a legal u-turn must yield to all traffic traveling in the opposite direction and not initiate or continue the turn until such traffic is a safe enough distance away to negotiate the turn; in the alternative, subsection (b) states that if a driver making a left or u-turn has properly yielded, turned on their signal and started to turn, the approaching traffic must yield the right of way to the turning vehicle. Sorry Bugs but Polecat had right of way. If Polecat had not slowed to turn he would have collided making the left turner at fault.

Yeah that's standard across the US and in pretty much any right side driving countries. This isn't just California - it's how traffic law works everywhere. And Buggs said he gets pissed that NOBODY lets him make his left turn in front of them when they are turning right (or going straight I imagine)! Which means for YEARS Buggs has sat there at a light, waiting to turn left, and cussing out all that traffic that's coming from the opposite direction and making their right turns! lmao

Chris K, links to any of these rules in the states you are referring to? Because I don not believe that is is the true traffic laws anywhere, not California, not Georgia, not in any state. As you state, it makes NO SENSE. You cannot expect oncoming traffic or right turning traffic to yield to a left turning vehicle that is crossing traffic. Earlier I linked to an article in the LA Times which spelled out that the left turning vehicle ALWAYS yields to the other traffic in California, debunking the thought that in California left turning vehicles have the right away. If you are stating that in Georgia this is the case, can you link to where it states this specifically?

Chris K it's no big deal. Like you said, it makes zero sense, and it is definitely not the law in California. I debunked that one in another post.. I have driven through Georgia a few times; however, not for very long periods of time. When we took the kids to Disney in '13 though we drove from Ohio to Orlando and stayed overnight just south of Atlanta. I do not remember any weird left turn signs then, but we were only there overnight. My other trips, aside from getting fuel or food, was mostly spent on the interstate in Georgia. I just don't see how it would be law, anywhere in a right side driving country, that a left turning vehicle would have the right of way i any situation, aside from when they have a green turn arrow. Full green lights would always give way to oncoming and right turning traffic, with left turn traffic only being able to turn when traffic was clear for them to do so.

In the California Driver Handbook, under Right-of-Way Rules, in the Intersections section, it reads: "When you turn left, give right-of-way to all vehicles approaching that are close enough to be dangerous." Meaning oncoming vehicles turning right have the right-of-way.

Shawn Warehime same here in Arizona. I'm a motorcycle rider. I had to read two books to get my license. And both books it says turning left traffic must yield to traffic on coming if they have the right away. Turn when it is safe to do so. Also, you must turn into the lane closest to you. Either #1 lane if making a right and either the #2 or #3 depending on lanes making a left.

Agreed. Military's access to cool shit is awesome and the base is a perfect staging ground. The only difference is that you need to have a base full of other military member and start shit with cops, then run back to base and try to blend in. Repeat until they get really mad. The police helicopter cant fly over the base so they couldn't finish a chase.

He's only right if he has a green arrow and the other drivers are turning right on red. but that's NOT what buggs was talking about. I actually got arrested for public intoxication in my buddies house 3 minutes after the Damascus VA town cops gave my buddy a DUI for working on his truck in the driveway... At no point did that truck start or run.. When they put him in cuffs the rest of us got pissed... We caught it in court brought all 7 people that were there and the neighbor but every cop lied on the stand... Cost us over 15000$ in fines and legal fees.... All 3 dashcams were "messing up and deemed unreliable"

The cop was wrong about the plate thing. While some military vehicles will be given a plate from the specific branch of service, most will only affix the registration directly to the vehicle's body. The same practice has been copied and deployed by the USPS. queue up the NBC "More you know" theme. :)

Buggs, people turning right ALWAYS have the right of way. The only time you don't have a right of way is if you have a stop sign, a red light, or a yield sign. In no state does someone turning left have right of way over someone turning right if the person turning right has a green light.

4:15 bugs is actually wrong about the right-away law. If someone is making a left on a green and someone else also is making a right on a green, the person making the right has the right-away because they aren’t crossing lanes into traffic. The person making the left has to yield since they have to cross traffic

I know I'm a year late but I just started binge watching these. Where I live, a passenger can get arrested for drunk in public since technically the person is in public. They dont use it unless the person is a jackass though. It might not be a legit arrest but that's a judge's job to determine.

You're in a private vehicle, so how can you be considered "drunk in public"? Your car is protected under the 4th amendment, so how is it "public'? Regardless if in public it is usually referred to as "drunk and disorderly." Like Edward Richardson said, "unless the person is a jackass." Makes you think about the PSA's that come out around the holidays, about getting a ride if you're drunk. Guess it's only safe to stay home to get wasted. Shame.

That is the law everywhere, not just Michigan. Buggs is incorrect in his statement that left turning vehicles have the right-of-way. The left turning vehicle never has the right-of-way in any State, or any right side driving country for that matter. Someone making a left anywhere always has to yield to oncoming traffic, whether that traffic is going straight, or making right turns. Only exception is when the left turn lane has a left turn arrow green light. When the light is green, that left turning vehicle does have the right of way. Only time they ever do.

Ah, reminds me of 1991 when I was at Camp Lejeune. MP was blacked out on the oncoming lane shoulder and the next thing I knew he was behind me. This happened at 0245. Was taken to the brig and a SSgt from 6th marine regiment headquarters had to come pick me up. Such fond memories of the f***ing MP's.

Alright, so when he said that when you are turning left that you have the right away, he meant when you are ALREADY TURNING. If you are already turning left and approaching where your are turning to, those turning right have to yield to you, rather than forcing themselves in, and crowding out the car turning left. He was basically just describing the situation at the time. He was 100% accurate. Because otherwise, like seen in the situation that sparked the initial discussion, the right turners not yielding- albeit in a very specific circumstance like the one seen here- could cause an accident.

Fun fact, you’re wrong. They can only ask for credentials/ personal information if you break the law, you are detained, or if you’re under investigation like a traffic stop for example. It’s a federal law. If an officer asks for it, you give it to them if you’re at the wrong. If they are talking to you or questioning you for no reason, you do NOT in any world have to give them information.

If you break the law, you are IMMEDIATELY required by federal law to possess a valid license, POI, and IVR. It doesn’t not matter if you are asked by an officer or not. That’s how it works. It's about as un-legit (Illegit?) as it comes. The RP'ers posing as cops do the worse job ever on every one of these videos. I've made it through all of Polecat and Buggs's DOJ videos now and every time its the same thing. Pulled over for looking left when they should have looked right. Pulled over for turning left in a left turn lane. Pulled over for doing the speed limit. These cops ruin most videos. The only time they add anything is when Polecat or Buggs has had enough of the bullshit themselves and lay into/make fun of the RP cops themselves.

Buggs, if both side have a green (not green arrow) then the one turning right will have the right of way. Because in the case of there being a two lane forward traffic, or even those who turn without a signal the one turning left would have to yield so they do not pull out in front of oncoming traffic. Same thing with a one lane forward traffic, the left would yield to those going straight as well as those turning right to prevent any collisions. If you have the green arrow then go on ahead oncoming lanes will yield to you until they get their green. (After all that's why the left turn lane has the green arrow, as well as a regular green light) Not trying to sound mean, looking forward to the next DOJ episode :)
