Trains in GTA SA stop slower because it is a normal train, and in other versions (without GTA V) there are subway/undergroung/metro trains, which are designed to gain speed faster and stop faster, to make the average speed of train higher, and by this decrease time of travel. In normal trains it is not about gaining speed, but maximum speed.

There are two trains in GTA 5. One (the passenger train) will stop if you’re in front of it, you can also ride inside of it and disable it’s stopping mechanic if you shoot the driver. It also stops at subway stations (except the one being constructed) and a few overground stations, as well as just under the airport. The cargo train does in fact stop (maybe not in singleplayer, I don’t recall, but in online it stops) somewhere outside a factory-plant-thing for about a minute before continuing. If I remember even correctlier then it doesn’t stop anywhere else. I think it only stops at that one point because a story mission has Trevor steal the train or something from this point. Something happens at the small station it stops at.

A myth says, that CJ and Big Smoke are still following the damn train.

I always loved the trains on all the GTA's. Those was my getaways for lowering my wanted stars or the Police....And the scenery is amazing bunny hoppin' on a train car and viewing the environment. If GTA doing a revitalized Vice City it would be awesome to add the Miami's transit mono rail system.

Gta 4's train system was actually useful. It also felt the most real. Gta 5's tram sucks and the freight train is too industrial to be useful transport.

To drive the Train in GTA 1 you need to press CNTRL (or fire button) once you are in.

I like how gta sa when you stand in the middle of the train it just pushes you up on the front of the train not like instant death

Gta 5 have 2 versions of trains my friend it's the subway and the freight train and gta san anderas have 2 version as well the passenger train and the freight train

The train in GTA 5 actually stops near the railway signal in the southwestern region of the map maybe near the powerplant, I don't remember exactly. But I've seen it stop there and resume the journey multiple times while playing online.

You can drive the trains in GTA 1. If you press attack you'll knock out the driver and you can drive it mildly faster than it normally moves. You can crash it into other trains.

In my opinion from GTA 3 to the current GTA 5 they should have added a whistle to the train that was scheduled to whistle on the cruise ships and that could be used freely in GTA SA which is where you have more freedom for dry

The one in San Andreas, as far as I could tell, it’s the only one that allows for drivers other then NPCs you pull out of the cabs, plus you have two different options, the rest you can ride on but that’s about it in any other generation

sa's train as a bonus can also be derailed if you go fast enough around a corner I think it's the only one capable of that
