There are three main characters in the game, named Michael, Franklin and Trevor. Each of the three characters in the game has different abilities and powers in different areas. For example, because Trevor is a former fighter pilot, he is better at operating planes, jets, helicopters and other aircraft than other characters. Since Michael is a former bank robber, he is better at using a gun than others. Since Franklin is a vehicle thief, he is much more adept at driving cars and motorcycles than others.
