For just 10% cpu overclock, it's a hard pass. I'll just wait for next gen. I'm one of those ppl who can't tell the difference bw 30 and 60 fps. Either way, there's no games that push the current hardware imo.
I think the Xbox handheld would be a great addition to the Game Pass platform! That would be something I would definitely buy because I'm a big fan of handheld devices like the Nintendo Switch. It's just another form of a console that you can tap into the ecosystem with. That's awesome if you ask me! 🎮 #XboxHandheld #GamePass #NintendoSwitch
Xbox is doing some things great and bad but Pro is coming because of GTA 6 and revenue in a long run for company. 30%😉 baby. Imagine if Microsoft will pay for time exclusive like GTA 6 😂 they will not do it now off course but X360 vibes man👍🏻 I love both of this consoles man and even Series S which they fucked up a little bit about how much memory it has. I think will cost 45% more as it is faster 45% 🫣 joke actually no idea but about the hardware, with their new method like FSR they will achieve 60 fps in this year games and maybe 40 fps mode for gta 6 or performance mode 60 fps with some tricks. Do I get it? Maybe if I see how GTA 6 looks on it. It will be the most powerful console ever created, don’t underestimate Sony engineers they also have smart people there.
Nope worst gen ever. Would've preferred instantaneous drop of old gen with them building proper new gen games like in the old days. But nope now they're squeezing every last penny out of last gen, and not even fully trying on this current gen
@@oofathertimeoo4654 I keep saying they released the consoles a year too early. 2O2O was the worst & no companies weren't even releasing games exclusively for S/SX. I'll consider what to buy when nextgen is due to come out.
True man. I was also excited for Pro model hoping it would do 60 FPS since i don't have a PS5 at all. Quite disappointing for gaming experience. I guess I'll just have to play GTA 6 at 30 FPS 🫠. Better than playing the same old GTA 5 shit
Big mistake of rockstar not launching for pc, it will always be successful but why would a high end pc gamer buy a ps5 for a game that barely get to 30 fps
@@matthewrussell8590- most of the new games are full of bugs and can't run games at stable 60 fps....so ps5 pro is useless.......i will wait for the ps6.....with the money i prefer to buy a steamdeck and maybe the new nintendo switch 2
They are saying our current consoles, CPUs are not powerful enough to render games at constant high framerates and 4K, even the Pro may not solve that based on what Digital Foundry said.
No dev is using the hardware or utilising the tools properly to get the most out of the box. PS5 Pro will be no different and just adds more work to the devs for optimisation for another SKU. The general hardware upgrades will help to brute force but CPU is not much better when XSS CPU is better than PS5.
Don’t do a mid gen console but please come out with a handheld! I’d love that. My ps5 and series x is enough until the 6 and whatever Xbox is gonna call theirs comes out
@@gamerzwithjobs330 If you like having more than one platform to play on why bother with Xbox when you can have a PC take it's place and open up a broader selection of games?

Also, I don’t really play multiplayer that much anymore, I don’t like the state pvp and force crossplay with pc. After a long day of work, I like to get off my computer (because my job is working on my computer for 8+ hours a day) and just boot up a dope game and move on. @@evoman44 You say it like there isn't any disadvantages to PC gaming, there is. I say that as someone who's been PC gaming for the past 15 years. More rumors... This, along with Xbox constantly popping their own balloons, is why it is difficult for many people to be "excited" for Xbox's future. At this point, I am more interested in seeing how they are going to fuck something else up next. Their *consistent* missteps are starting to become far more interesting than their *inconsistent* progress.
The steam statistics state that the resolution on PC is 61% 1080p 16% 1440p 4% 4k 4% 768i Realistically PS5 Pro only needs 1440p 60fps upscaled, so Digital Foundry can go do one.
It's good to have options. This is perfect for those who still does not have a Ps5 and want a bit more power going into this gen. If you alreaddy own a Ps5, I would not upgrade, but to each their own. If you have the money to burn, go for it.
Don't know how he's even talking about price when this thing isnt even confirmed. Guess when your plastic box is doing terrible, you gotta talk about the winner to keep those views coming in.
U know I really don’t care about refresh console anymore because we have the most powerful console and we don’t see any games to shove us the power against the PlayStation 5 bro so I’m happy with my series s
Bro, I see why Xbox didn't bother with a pro 😂. The PS5 pro only has 8 more compute units than the Series X 😂, and the CPU is basically the same speed as the Series X. People forgot that the PS5 only has 36 compute units. To me it seems that the PS5 pro is just a response to what the Xbox Series X did, I don't think Sony expected the Series X to be as powerful as it was at launch.
@@kenroyforrester156 Sony have good software for their console but PS5 Pro doesn’t make sense. They could run in some troubles if they will not release new games first party. Maybe Xbox could shrink the gap in next 2 years when more games from them drops
@@katbmwh1101 Sony is by far and away the market leader, so Sony has great influence on what devs choose to focus on. It's as simple as that. Devs have had no incentive to put time and effort into utilizing the more advanced tech of the Series X vs the PS5. In fact the launch of the PS5 Pro will be a good thing for Xbox Series X game development, because now devs will have more incentive to utilize the advanced features of the Series X that weren't available on the original PS5. Only when Sony has the tech do devs feel they need to use it 😂.
Yes there are only 8 cu more, but we are talking about different architectures, rdna2 for xbox and rdna3 (apparently rdna4 for raytracing) for ps5pro. On pc a 60 cu Rx 7800xt (rdna3) is slightly faster than a 72 cu Rx 6800xt (rdna2) in raster and slightly faster than a 80 cu Rx6900xt (rdna) in rt. Let's not forget also that the Xbox Series X have rather low frequency for the gpu and split memory, 1825mhz in series x vs around 2100mhz (speculation) in ps5pro.
Honestly this is gonna start the crash of the industry ain’t no one gonna buy it , there still ain’t any good games … why a pro so we can play remaster last of us again lol and BTW the nerds over at digital foundry ruined gaming for everyone because they love to get off to 5+fps … I’m convinced they can’t even sit down and enjoy a game anymore without hyperventilating…
My brother is buying it he always gets the pro version of PS consoles. Yes he believes that it's going to be great yet there's no games on the console just remasters lol
Ya I agree. After that last Rumor drama, I'm about done with it all. People are taking the fun out gaming and it makes me wonder if I need to know everything going on. All they do is argue & complain back & forth - this is just my favorite hobby to do in my freetime
Bro I sure hope that make a series s capable level handheld, with compatibility of Xbox expansion cards... so you can just go from console to handheld and back...
Colt....Parity clause? If that's true, how is it possible that A Plagues Tail: Requiem has a 60fps mode on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X yet only runs at 30fps on the Series S? Didn't you say that the Series S CPU is faster than the one in the PS5? So you are implying the less powerful Xbox Series S console is allowed to bypass the 60fps mode of the XSX, while the less powerful Playstation 5 console wouldn't be allowed the same vs the PS5 Pro? Colt. Do me a favor and make it make sense Furthermore, does anyone know for sure PS5 Pro doesn't have hardware that can offload certain things that are usually processed by the CPU of a standard PS5? Accelerated ray tracing with asynchronous operation and ray transformation, for instance?🤔 Colt,do yourself a favor and don't set yourself another trap as usual before you learn more details about this hardware. The fact that MAGG said on your own podcast that Respawn has Star Wars Jedi: Survivor running at 4K 120fps should have warned you not to make declarative statements about what the hardware is or isn't capable of before getting more details so you could have a more informed opinion.........and yet here we are. Hey Colt another great video, i definitely well buy a ps5 pro if not crazy expensive. Only because i don't have a ps5 right now i have a ps4 pro so the 5pro well be a upgrade. Now Phill wants Steam and Epic Games store front on Xbox. If this happens and works, PlayStation will be irrelevant. Buying PS titles through Steam on Xbox would be a major flex and Im all for it
Been in this game for a while now, these mid gen refreshes are literally designed to get you to buy the same product that you already have. I’m done being sucked in by these companies.
Wdym by "the Xbox and PlayStation battle continues" ? Xbox sold less than Nintendo last year 💀 The gamepass sold more units on Pc than their outdated console what battle are we talking about rn LMFAO
I will buy the PS5 Pro. I’ve wanted to play several games that don’t seem to be coming over to Xbox and eventually Bloodborne will get a remake/ remaster.
That is why Xbox has not made sense anymore since you can play just about anything there on PC. If I were to get another console it would be a PlayStation to play it's exclusives.
I am planning to upgrade and I already have a PS5, even tho I mostly play COD or Warzone. I dont get why these people and reviewers keep telling the console will suck cause of only 10% increase in CPU power. It wouldnt matter even if it was 5x more powerfull because all the games also need to work on PS5-base. The double power in GPU will double the Resolution or the FPS depends on what developers chose to do. For example PS5 runs COD at Dynamic-4k and 120Hz, in reality the game downscales to around 2k with 120Hz. So PS5-Pro thanks to its double GPU power will be able to run close to 4k with 120Hz.
I’ve already own a PS5 since launch and honestly seeing those specs of PS5 PRO, seems to be a minimal upgrade but not even close enough to run 4K/60 as promised “once again”. I’ll wait for PS6 frankly. Regarding a Xbox Series X “PRO” hardware only, and I mean ONLY, if a Gears 6 Special Edition Console with an awesome design with a beautiful controller I might decide to purchase it, otherwise I won’t buy a new current generation model. My Xbox Series X should be enough for me until the “next generation” Console arrives!
I haven't had to play the keeping up game since switched from PS3 to PC. I just recently upgraded my PC for less than the cost of a new PS5 and should be good to go until the PS7 is about to release.
Microsoft Xbox HAS to know that making a Mobile Xbox "Handheld" device is foolish. 1. Steamdeck and ROG exist (as you mentioned). 2. The handheld market will be dominated by the switch 2 (or a portable PC). 3. You can play xbox on your cellphone, tablet, pc, and future Microwaves..
It's about CHOICE, and Sony is giving hardware hungry players an upgrade path mid-gen, Xbox is not. PS5Pro CPU may not get GTA6 to 60fps, but it will have much better raytracing, image quality, fastest load times -- it will still be the best place to play that game by a wide margin. And it will pull some die hard Xbox players over to Sony's ecosystem as a result. And once that happens, it will be all the more difficult for Xbox to win these players back in 2026
I really dont know if I'll even buy another xbox. Its just born out of necessity. PlayStation on the other hand gives you alternatives to play. PS got handheld, psvr , good earbuds, good headphones. With the ps5 pro, they have their own version of DLSS, the PSSR. All of these to improve gameplay. MS just got no talent, as per "Steve Jobs".
Frankly i don't see this problem for the Ps5 Pro CPU. Of course, there are some games limited to 30fps and others will be released in the future, but we can at least say that the situation compared to the Ps4Pro and Xbox One X period is practically the opposite. In the last generation games averaged 30fps and few offered 60fps, in the current generation most games (over 90%) offer 60fps, and a minority are limited to 30fps. To date i can give more examples of games with 120fps mode than games limited to 30fps. Ps5 Pro will improve 60fps modes for current and future games and will also improve image quality for 30fps modes, it will also allow games with some performance problems to better reach their targets. In short, from the specifications it doesn't seem like a machine capable of revolutionizing the market, but it seems like a good upgrade that will be able to solve some problems that are starting to be serious on the base Ps5 and Series x (first of all the image quality in the 60fps modes).
Those PS5 Pro specs are laughable af. Xbox has the games, that's all that matters. Xbox has always had a more powerful system within every gen. PS doesn't even have any games lol.
@@colteastwood no, EA developers are testing Ps5pro on star wars survivor, they are running it 4k 120fps with NO hickups! You know thats what he said! @@kingarthur6173 look here kid. I've been gaming probably before you were even thought of. The way Microsoft names it's consoles is confusing and stupid. It went from Xbox to Xbox 1 to the series of consoles.
I don't see why a Xbox Handheld with locked eco system would sell when PC Handheld's plays all Series X games, Sony games and PC Games. A locked down Xbox handheld would be a flop. There isn't market for it and Xbox consoles sells slow in general.
I don't think Xbox needs to make an Xbox series x elite. Because machine learning is a component of Xbox Series X/S, which can double the performance. Starfield, mainly uses raw hardware power of the Xbox Series consoles and not so much software. It's easier to make games on raw hardware power than it is to make games combined with software and hardware. 12.15x2=24.3 Next-gen 2026 is just around the corner.
We are now well into 4 years since Series X has been released! No games so far has used those ML cores! Not even Microsoft internally developed games. If I were you, I would stop mentioning them as if they don’t exist.

@@404Learning What is the lie? I switched to PC recently and is so much better than console and play with controller of my choice too. If you read my comment, never said anything about ml cores.
Moore's Law is Dead has covered this in fine detail, as Richard has said, it's using a 4nm Zen 2 CPU which is a 2nm die shrink and will cost Sony no more in fab costs than the current models are and some kinda of RDNA 3.5 pseudo GPU and a PSSR which is Sony's answer to DLSS and FSR, it looks better than FSR but uses a lot of memory to achieve this, they are using their TV tech from AI upscaling and now putting into the Gaming division.
As a hardware and gaming enthusiast I find the PS5 Pro specs to be very impressive actually and based of what I know about different hardware and testing a few generations of Zen processors against one another, I can only assume they stuck to the same Zen 2 processor for compatibility reasons, power targets and cost of manufacture. The graphics improvements, ray tracing engine and machine learning block for their own upscaling is actually very impressive and should tackle a big flaw with the current consoles. Performance modes looking terrible being rendered at 900P or 1080P than use FSR to upscale back to 4K. The Pro should be able to offer massive improvements on this front. CPU bound games that run at 30 fps will still be the same obviously. It's essentially a GPU upgrade for the PS5. One thing I find to be a bit disingenuous and maybe its just sheer fanboyism or ignorance is I have seen a couple videos portraying the PS5 pro to just be a 10% improvement over the PS5 and that's a lie and comes across as something some people want to believe. Its a bit more complex. The way I see it though, more competent gaming hardware in the gaming space is a good thing for everybody. For me, more competent consoles means games targeting higher fidelities on PC and for Xbox players it means Xbox feeling the pressure to respond with their own upgrades and finally release Direct ML. WTH happened with that. I cant believe Sony is releasing a ML based upscaling method before Microsoft who said Direct ML was being worked on 4 years ago.

I can't see a reason to upgrade. When the power and performance gap just isn't reasonably that big of a jump which is mind boggling! Even if the power and performance is there yall actually think developers will the extra power? Nah I just don't think so! The graphics power and cpu power just isn't a big leap like it needs and should be!!!!
A $600 machine that can’t even run some games at 60fps? Not sure what the draw would be. I don’t think they’ll sell too many of these machines with that bad of a case to upgrade.
I was just thinking about that. At that price point you start to enter a decent mid tier gaming PC territory. Which can be easily upgraded over time as your budget allows.

600 is too much for a console we've already been down this path and economy is falling apart people can barely pay bills with high inflation. A PS5 pro will just be for a few people not the masses I guess. A handheld Xbox is not needed because this generation is not selling well would be best to wait till next generation. Gamers would be better to get a steam deck or a windows-based handheld which would give them availability to steam and many other options besides being stuck in an Xbox ecosystems.
30 million stuck in Xbox ecosystem via their series consoles. 5 million on Steam deck + Window gaming PCs. Seems to me people prefer to be stuck in walled garden ecosystems.
Handhelds are limited market besides Nintendo. Nintendo is its own thing has its own IPS like Mario Zelda so you can compare that to the handheld seam console but I think steam would be better to release a tv console. But not confusing like yours ago they need to make it themselves one model.
No it’s not.. first of all, you don’t even know how tax works apparently lol. Well here in the US. Second of all, there is no price point yet. Most people are saying it’ll reach 700$ and if that’s true it’ll be 70$ in tax

I will not upgrade to a PS5 Pro, for I barely use my PS5. I would get an Xbox handheld if the battery life is decent and storage is not too overpriced.
I only want Xbox hardware if its a handheld. Getting tired of what seems to be a money grab before the console they already sold me lives up to the hype.
If Sony needs to charge a little more for the Pro so we can get a real upgrade to the CPU I'm ok with that, it needs to be done there shouldn't be any games running below 60fps

How come during the ABK court case we got info about how CoD and other ABK games HAD to play at the same performance level for both Xbox and PS... I feel like that even shed light on how they had to hold back the Xbox version in order to be at the same parody as PS. How come they can even let games run at better specs with these pro consoles if both platforms insist on parody between the two? (Not sure if the game publisher or the platforms put that in the contracts honestly) Like I get that the games do run better on the mid gen refresh consoles... but since they have to still run on the base systems at the same performance, wouldn't that mean the Series S is going to kinda handicap the PS5 Pro? I must be missing something
Software engineer here, great production quality. Otherwise its very possible the PS5 pro will be able to play GTA 6 at 4K 60 fps upscaled. DF dont have access to the final specs of the machine or the empirical and statistical data that Sony used to set the CPU targets. We do know their target is 4K 60 fps for the PS5 pro and GTA 6 is going to be designed with a 4K 30 fps target on the base PS5. Replace the upscaling algorithms on the base PS5 with hw accelerated upscaling algorithms on the PS5 pro and you reduce CPU calls on the PS5 pro. So we need to wait and see but I do agree they could/should have increased the CPU clock speed closer to 4.4GHz but they must have looked at the power budget and decided to engineer a way out of that.
SO IF THE PS5 PRO IS NOT RUNNING ALL GAMES AT 60FPS WHAT IS THE PURPOSE FOR THE UPGRADE OF THE CONSOLE?😆😆 AND HOW MUCH IS SONY GONNA CHARGE?😂 WHAT HAPPEN TO THE MAGICAL SSD?😂
Catch if not on same Wi-Fi network as console quality drops on hand held products from PlayStation unless you can put games on internal hard drive then turn it on using cloud to transfer progress otherwise going have same issue as portal. Ps5 pro if when it comes will still have noisy cooling because it not pc with noise reduction cooling it console why.
The problem with consoles is your performance is dictated by the developers. And what's worse is Xbox and PlayStation put out bottlenecked consoles with every release
