GTA Vice City BETA Edition Modification Gameplay recorded on PC in full HD.
Vice City: BETA Edition is a modification for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City with the goal of returning most, if not, all cut features in development (at least, what is known and/or is possible). This aims to restore things such as removed buildings, cut dialogue, pedestrian looks, general atmosphere & much more to deliver the most authentic experience. All information comes from several sources, such as BradyGames' Official Strategy Guide, Manual, Pre-Release Screenshots & Leftover Files. This mod doesn't bring back anything which has little to no proof of its existence in the alpha/beta stages of the game's development, however some improvising may be done. There's a lot of interesting things to find in the Beta version of Vice City. From removed buildings to lost lines of dialogue (especially in the mission "Phnom Penh '86"). It's quite nice to see how the game looked in the earlier stages of development. I personally liked the beta Infernus and the old lock-on aiming target. There's some unused dialogue that appears regularly in missions so keep an ear out for that too!

Sometimes the Beta version of a game looks better than the final version. IMO, Vice City is one of them.

41:53 that edit sequence was hilarious lol There are a lot of things in this Beta that I wished made it to the final release of the game; designs of Senintel, Infernus and Comet, Rosenberg’s office, additional colors for cars, designs of weapons e.g. Kruger and Uzi, added dialogues and cutscenes... it was a very pleasant journey in time

The team behind this mod did a tremendous job on this one. It's damn near identical to the one(s) from the previews and screenshots. Whenever I played through the story with this mod, I think the Infernus may be my most driven vehicle, haha. I like the look of it and it's a shame that car manufacturers being adamant about not having their vehicles in certain video games might've contributed to some of these models getting changed because of the fact that they look like their real life counterparts.

They did a great job! I've always loved the beta Infernus but also find the Comet very interesting. There's something so charming about the early Vice City designs and colour palettes. Looking forward to what they manage to restore in future updates!

Even with GTA 3 wheels the beta infernus is so stylish and sexy just like the real Lamborghini Countach. Really cool mod!

I don’t know why, but when I played this on the original Xbox way back in 2004, Tommy had this beta dark blue Hawaiian shirt. I remember it very vividly and it wasn’t a pirated copy or anything, directly from GameStop This was also the case in GTA III on original Xbox. I remember playing as the “Player 2” version of Claude with the mutton chops and goatee on the Xbox version rather than on PC🤔

By the way the infernus here, the beta one itself is another tribute to Miami Vice, as the car has the same square tail lights the american imported countaches had which was featured in one of the car chases they had in the show from back then, actually one of the splash screens from the intro is directly TAKEN from that car chase with the countach, and I guess the beta infernus was going to be made to line up with that car perfectly and actually makes me wonder if they were gonna have an infernus vs daytona, sorry stinger chase in the game, to line up with it, given both of crockett's cars, the daytona and the TR are in the OG game and man just seeing that makes me really wish we could have had it in the game like that, ditto with that original comet, and its funny though, that thing looks more like the LEGO version of the 911 targa than the actual targa so I dont know what the deal was with that lol

I'll definitely make this into a series with each new part showcasing the updates. This part showed most of the script and audio changes in the first Act of the game. I'm also curious if they manage to script the loan shark feature that was linked to BJ Smith.

No, it's just that the beta outfits don't carry into the cutscenes. I was already wearing it for that mission. Also it's an actual beta outfit that can be subtly seen in some very early screenshots...I just can't remember which.

I love vice city, I been playing this for a long time for ps2 and ps4 (ps2 port) but I was looking forward to play the classic trilogy on pc but it makes me wish I had it on pc and not to mention rockstar should bring those back on steam instead of removing it then copying and paste to make the broken definitive edition.

I have heard of this mod before and I am finally seeing you play it! It looks pretty interesting! Speaking of mods, there's another Vice City mod called Tightened Vice. Basically, it makes every mission and every optional mission (except submissions and things like stadium events for now) harder. Version 1.5 is already out. (Just want to let you know something)

1:48 lol, was the entrance to Hotel Harrison 10 meters tall in some development screenshots or something? Seems like a weird call to "recreate" obvious mistakes that Rockstar fixed by the time of release, but the beta community is very particular about their preferences, so I guess it tracks. Still great to see a Beta mod in a very high state of completion though, props to the devs

Most remaining missions play out the same apart from some cut lines of dialogue - most have been shown in this video. There's no need to do a full walkthrough. I'll just show content on the noticeable changes/updates. My next full walkthrough will be GTA 3: Winter Edition.

Should have waited since I think soon a new update will be released for this mod with a lot of mission changes and stuff like the cut weapons, I think also more accurate tommy model since apparently the original beta model was found in files of a Japanese PS2 version

I'll happily do an update video and edit the mod version into the title. I'm not sure there'll be much new mission content as there isn't much file evidence or dialogue to base things off. I can do a whole other video for the weapons though!

@@Willzyyy The Definitive Editions came with leaked files which included source scripts which also included a lot of commented code including different coordinates, camera angles etc, the next version will have all of that restored to original values

The first dialogue part was removed because Howlin' Petes was no longer accessible. It was supposed to unlock s biker outfit for Tommy. However the Fastest Boat cutscene should have stayed!

Ive just been playing the Beta version of Grand Theft Auto Vice City on my gaming Computer,Not a lot difference in it really,Graphics looked a little bit downgraded,Some of the buildings looked different,Part from that,Did not really much else different really
